having stayed in Yoruba land for sometime now I won't really say they are religious tolerant. I'd say they are confuse; no insult intended here. seriously, how can someone go to Church in the morning, then babalawos house in the evening and once in while visits the imam for prayers? (true life story) this simply means they stand for nothing and hence everything goes. 9 Likes |

Arsenate: having stayed in Yoruba land for sometime now I won't really say they are religious tolerant. I'd say they are confuse; no insult intended here. seriously, how can someone go to Church in the morning, then babalawos house in the evening and once in while visits the imam for prayers? (true life story) this simply means they stand for nothing and hence everything goes. Yes, they are like the wind, very directionless. Even their pastors go to Juju houses, as do their imams. |

I actually love these yoruba cities. They are artistically very beautiful and poetic. They reflect a people well settled for centuries. I'm not one of them but I'm an admirer of the culture. 18 Likes |

The picture of Aba and Ibadan tells 2 different stories. One an ancient city in an area known large kingdoms and empires, suggesting its occupants are not new to city dwelling and a precursor to emerging SW Mega city. The other a mere baby city recently built (presumably after the civil war) with few historical character and never known to be within any kingdom or empire, suggesting emergence from village / hamlet dwelling. London is an old city compared to Abuja yet Londoners are a millennia ahead of Abuja dwellers and both are just not comparable 22 Likes |
