Nairaland is a 'copy and paste' forum. How are we sure that the article is originally yours?

Okijajuju1: Sooo?!

Who reads that gossip softsell anyways?

The Author however should grab multiple copies of the Paper and sue them for copyright infringement or plagerism. Consult a lawyer first though as you didnt copyright protect the article nor did you place a caveat on the reuse and reproduction of it without consent. Na so one of my post on Tonto Dike go viral and I no get any credit whatsoever for am. angry By now, I would have been pricing land in Banana Island from the back of my Range Rover HSE Sports autobiography (Juju Edition).

it was originally mine. I wrote d article myself , I did d research myself, if u have been reading my posts on Nairaland, u would have noticed that 80% of my articles are written by me.
if I wasn't d originator of d article, I wouldn't have bothered at all.

teeo: Make them Pay or tell them to employ you so you can work for them and give them better articles.

Omo them go hire you sharply and you can even negotiate your salary.
Just know that this is a must win situation for you.
Enough of intellectual Theft grin

Lala, I prefer this advice, you can work for them freelance and submit what you usually post on nairaland, probably, they print it first then you post on nl and give the magazine credit for the thread. Involving a competent lawyer while negotiating is very important. But please bear in mind that you also did not acknowledge where you got your information and photos from. All the best.

u r not serious. I wrote that article. check what u read and compare it with mine and also check d date. if I didn't originate d article I wouldn't have bothered with this thread . u will find that article in most of d blogs which they copied from here. some twisted the caption. if bloggers copy my articles am not bothered, it only shows that its good, but for a soft sell to copy my article without credit , that's where I have misgivings.

My dear, so many companies&their reps visit Nairaland.U don't knw how big dis forum is.

I remember a tym I started a thread saying Access Bank was fraudulently charging customers #200 monthly calling it account maintenance fee eventhough it wasn't my salary account&u can imagine collecting 200 naira frm ova 1 million customers monthly.

So many ppl voiced their disgust ova dat fee&threatened 2close d accounts they had wit access bank.U won't believe; d nxt mth, they send me a txt dat they hav cancelled d maintenance fee charge&encouraged me 2keep using my account.

Also there was a tym someone started a thread abt Golden morn not suitable 4children below 3yrs whch was then written boldly on d pack of golden morn. Later on da tyear,Nestle had 2reproduce&rebrand golden morn, removing d stuff they wrote on d pack of it not 2b given 2children below 3yrs&their rep even cam 2Nairaland 2dispute that its not suitable 4children below 3yrs.

All in all.God bless Nairaland&may all d evil hackers not destroy Nairaland forum as it brings Nigerians all ova d world

lalasticlala: I just saw the cover of the Icon Weekly Magazine featuring my article which I first wrote and published here on Nairaland on the 30th of June.

The article centred on 30 divorced cases that shook Nollywood and it made front page with over 50,500 views.

Icon Weekly Magazine just copied my well written article in their August edition. I doubt if they gave credit to me as the writer or to Nairaland as the platform through which other bloggers copied the article.

Meanwhile, below is the link to the article am talking about here on Nairaland:

They should be taught a lesson not because you are bad but because they are a corporate organization meant to be professional. They would not hesitate to fire a non-performing staff or sue anyone who wants to take credit for their job.

How to teach them a lesson depends on you. One of the ways to that is what you have done here so people would know they are not original and I am sure the staff who did that would be fired as they must have seen it.

However, if you find a happy go lucky barrister who is just ready to make some money out of fun you may write to them and request to be paid for the work or you go an extra mile to sue them which is necessarily not necessary.

You could demand they apologize in their next piece and give you credit for your job.

NB: Nigeria must change and grow and develop and one of the ways is to correct such issues.
