Princek12: Since majority of Nigerians are either illiterates or educated illiterates, their response to America's claim does not surprise me. The scientist who created the so called ebola drug chose to remain anonymous. Why? He chose to because he is a scam. A real scientist will stand by his creation and defend it in peer review and scientific journals.

Which laboratory was used in the development? Has it been tested on animals? Is there a procedure in place for clinical trials? This "feel among" attitude displayed by all these benighted Nigerians without the infrastructure that entitles you to be among is laughable. You want to feel as though you are producing an Ebola cure but you don't have electricity, you have a decrepit educational system, you have no funding for scientific research, and you have no procedure for regulating clinical trials. But you want to feel among.

Good luck to the people taking Nigeria's Ebola drug.

Yes Educated illiterates. It's quite sad.

When it was salt water, they all rushed to drink and bath with it without question.

Now it's nano silver and the US is doing us a favor by informing the masses that nano silver as a cure for Ebola is unfounded. Una come dey vex.

una go still claim say una go school. Smh for all of you.

davien: Nano-silver is ofcourse a pesticide, anyone learned with chemistry knows nano particulates are very reactive....silver and gold are the two least reactive elements at the macro scale but very reactive at the micro scale...

xp17: if you want to shittt on a road, make sure you ain't going to pass that road again. Nigeria don't really need to reply the US in other to use the nano silver.

speaking from common sense, the so called nano silver appears like scam to me. this is just an independent business man who is looking to put more money in his bank . beside, nano Silver was not originally meant to cure Ebola, it was for other unrelated sicknesses, unlike the zmapp which was made just for this purpose .hence, US skepticism should be given a benefit of doubt.

if nano silver must be used, no federal budget or commitment must be made until it becomes the right medicine for Ebola . more so, a plan B (zmapp) should also be seek for, incase this fails .and from the way Nigeria is taking it, I don't see US obliging to our future requests for zmapp, should nano silver fails. perhaps, they are awaiting Nigeria crawling back to them, begging like a baby.

answer for the gods only

Bro, NanoSilver must not be specifically made for ebola virus before it can work. Matter of factly, most inventions and solutions to most problems today were discovered from sources much at variance and unconnected with the problem (as it were). But Alas! Those "Pesticides" became the "Anti-Ebolas".
Amongst numerous examples, take "Tramadol" for example, since we are talking about drugs here.. This is a drug that was made and is still used as a mega pain killer especially for fatally traumatized patients. But it was discovered that it had this side effect of enhancing libido. That is why till today, as you read, people are buying it to enhance their sexual perfomance. From the very beginning, it (Tramadol) wasn't formulated to be an aphrpodisiac, but today you know the story.
So, for all I care, america should leave Nigeria alone. We don't need america to watch our back - as if they ever cared! We depend on you, you despise us; we man up and become independent, you still want to despise us. America, be warned!!! Since WHO has approved the use of experimental drug(s) to combat ebola, who is FDA to poke nose into what NAFDAC approves?? USA, again, Be Warned!!!

Naija consuming stupidity since 0000BC.. Instead of blaming our leaders for their unpreparedness, we are blaming. Ebola is a tropical disease, yet US, Japan, and EU are better prepared. Naija had no specifically designated facility for Ebola until Patrick Sawyer came. Others believe in science and innovation, we believe in luck and religion.

Can you give us a link regarding the clinical trials done by this illustrious son of Africa did with nano silver, including animal studies? We should be more scientific in our thinking. This nano silver was being sold online by some fraudulent persons and u are supporting them. Shame.!!

Silver Nano (Silver Nano Health System) is a trademark name of an antibacterial technology which uses ionic silver nanoparticles in washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, air purifiers and vacuum cleaners introduced by Samsung in April 2003.

Nigeria government is very incompetent, inept and clinically stu*pid.

many Nigerians don't really understand why Americans are skeptical about giving out zmapp. the nature of
Ebola has not really been well understood even by the American's. by giving out a drug for curing it without
proper clinical trials can lead to a mutation which might lead from the virus been transferred from body
fluid's to airborne which will become worse this is an issues of global correlation. the experimental drug
as not really been proven even the nano silver. all that ave been said is showing sings of improvement. we
need to be very careful not to created a version that may become worse.ethical standards are very
important.just because we want to save a few we end up creating an Ebola strain that is drug resistant or
which metamorphosed into an airborne strain.pls we need to think

HerexG:

1. When he became the President, he was supposed to visit Nigeria in his tour to Africa but instead he choose to visit Ghana nd till date he has not stepped his foot to Nigeria

2. Just recently he denied Nigeria of a certain fund

3. And now he refuse to give us the mzapp experimental drug

And so
The way your type put sentiments to everything pisses me off.. Did You bother to check ghanas standings back then? If he was that partial he would have visited kenya first.. The place he has connection with? Did you check if nigeria can be able to take care of the cost, if they have had a breach with international bodies etc.. Before u come up here and start pointing finger. If they did not give u aid needed fine! Will you die! Can't you work out ways of curtailing the issue instead of playing the boy with less meat in his bowl

African leaders and their mentality, all they know is power and money. They would never fight for the region, speak for the region with one voice nor find ways to make it a better place but play politics with everything.

Human life is nothing to them, i am not surprised when nano silver was termed pesticide and zmapp the ebla drug. Canadian doctors also have a drug on ebola but it is not in the news, why? Because we so much rely on US to provide everything as if they created us.

African youths,it is time we rise against our sit tight leaders, fight for our right and make Africa a better place to live.

Health concerns
Exposure to silver nanoparticles has been
associated with "inflammatory, oxidative,
genotoxic, and cytotoxic consequences"; the
silver particulates primarily accumulate in the
liver. [6] but have also been shown to be toxic
in other organs including the brain. [7] Nano-
silver applied to tissue-cultured human cells
leads to the formation of free radicals, raising
concerns of potential health risks. [8]
Allergic reaction: While there is anecdotal
evidence suggesting the possibility of a silver
allergy, an extensive review of the medical
literature does not lend any credence to this
possibility. [9] Some silver alloys that include
nickel do elicit an allergic reaction.
Argyria and staining: Ingested silver or silver
compounds, including colloidal silver, can
cause a condition called argyria, a
discoloration of the skin and organs. In 2006,
there was a case study of a 17-year-old man,
who sustained burns to 30% of his body, and
experienced a temporary bluish-grey hue after
several days of treatment with Acticoat, a
brand of wound dressing containing silver
nanoparticles. [10] Argyria is the deposition of
silver in deep tissues, a condition that cannot
happen on a temporary basis, raising the
question of whether the cause of the man’s
discoloration was argyria or even a result of
the silver treatment. [11] Silver dressings are
known to cause a “transient discoloration” that
dissipates in 2–14 days, but not a permanent
discoloration. [citation needed ]Health concerns
