@OP, widen your statistics. You only listed schools in Lagos, but your caption "expensive school in Nigeria". I know another expensive school in a remote place; Tedem and Dorathy College, Amafor, Imerienwe, Ngor-Okpala Imo state. This school is so expensive that people in the locality treat their students like Dukes and Queens. I don't actually know their tuitions now, but in the 90's, men, it was heavy and a years tuition could train a sociology student in the university then. Education is costly in this region of the world. God help my country 9ija.

Symphony007: exactly...schools like this have a curriculum dropped out of heaven. They teach their students over 5 foreign languages with special tutors and ear sets, and make sure each student must excel in one sports. Indeed schools like this groom great men who help each other. Example. Eton college, windsor, england. Produced over 6 british prime minister, foreign secretaries, diplomats, currently, david cameron, u.k prime minister, george osborne, chancellor of the exchequer, boris johnson, mayor of london are all old ethonians.

Are you trying to compare these aforementioned schools to the likes of Eton and Harrow?

I rep british international school, v.i... Any ex BIS students in the auz, lets hook up! Didn't even knw it was the most expensive of all...

Ma dad took care of the fees... Lol... We usually always spend holidays in US or Paris... Some ppl are saying shit about the fees nd their locality cos they wer neva opportuned to live that kinda life! No hates, truth's gotta be told.. I speak 6 languages, that of spain, italy, norway, nertherland, Germany nd that of south africa coupled with english nd yoruba... LOL, most of us speak languages that much(outta intelligence) while some understand just 2 or 3, i play the saxophone too... .Am a basketballer in US, studying in UK tho...

Most of my life opportunities nd experiences are from BIS... If u wer a student from there, u would understand..

BIS ALUMNI ALL THE WAY!!!

Nope! Samadi was the only close contender though. Although, back then we called Samadi our burial ground. haha cheesy.
Most of their students were those who could not cope academically at my school, and were either asked to repeat or be expelled.

After school hours, many of them would drive over to hangout with us for a little bit. We called them "soldiers who died in the struggle" cheesy

Nostalgia. It was fun back then.

I can as well put the child in a 4star hotel and pay tutors to be teaching him while he's in the jacuzzi, nonsense. The winner of the last Cowbell National Mathematics competition is a student of Iganmode Community Secondary School, Ota a public school none from any of these schools can compete with him so what's the big deal.

TAKETWO:

True talk! My daughter graduated with a first class in Finance and Accounting in a reputable university in the U.K and yet she attended a public primary school, secondary school and college for her A levels all in the U.K. She's been made to realise since when she was a toddler that educational excellence can only be achieved through hard work. You cannot pay over the odds for your kid's education without motivation and input from you the parent and yet expect your kid to achieve academic excellence.
interesting

You're missing the point, this isn't just about the academics, it's about the whole package.

In terms of quality, you can't compare those schools to the average Nigerian school, the environment, the teachers, the facilities, the intellectual level, the pattern of learning.... are miles ahead of Nigerian standards.

Those schools are for the creme de la creme, no wannabe thugs, no poor people & most likely no bullies. Every kid is such school comes from an upper class, there kids develop network of important friends which comes handy in life. That's why you'd notice people of an upper class belong to a certain clique, these are where those cliques are formed.

People who send their kids there are not fools, if you got the money, send your kids there.
and what makes u tink iys nor for wannabe thugs.if u know d level of indiscipline dt radiates among dis kids u wld be wowed.most of dem end up in shady biz

yeko68: I can as well put the child in a 4star hotel and pay tutors to be teaching him while he's in the jacuzzi, nonsense. The winner of the last Cowbell National Mathematics competition is a student of Iganmode Community Secondary School, Ota a public school none from any of these schools can compete with him so what's the big deal.
i was talking about this earlier - that i dont see d names of these aforementioned schools in intellectual competitions. Someone quickly reproached me b'cos he thinks i attended a street school - well, so far so good...

as some one has said early, is more about networking and reputation than quality education. so parent want their children to make friends with people that have a better chance of being successful. for example most of the North governors have at least 3 secondary class mate in their cabinate, yes we know the governor dont attend private schools but their children are attending e.g in kano is Queen science, Nigerian Turkish and Intercontinental etc, while in Kaduna is Essex and Zaria Academy while Bauchi and Gombe command the list goes on.

Nigerian Turkish kano and kaduna student have automatic admission with their mock to Nile university abuja, faith university tureky, Marmara university and two other apart from nile all university among top 600th in the world while intercon kano (400 per year) student have admission to inti malaysia and one school in dubai, the point if you attend one of this school you are sure of university admission regardless of your result. am 100 percent school like british international school, have affiliation with some uk universities that why you always see the sons of so and so in very top universities which as average Nigeria who attend public school need almost a prefect SAT score. this shows that they attend same primary secondary and university. as average Nigeria with income of like 20-40 million annually, you will want your son to be friend with Adenuga and Dangote sons. because being in an elite group is better than one of the best in your field, as let assumed your attend 4th rank universities in canada graduate with 1st and Adenuga' son best friend attend the 8th and graduate 2.1 every one know who will get the job
