shota: The problem with the tiny Itshekiri people is their ignorance. They are not even as big as Okrika Ijaws and not even as developed and civilized as any Ijaw group in Rivers state so why do they always want to bash Ijaw people ? Little about them was known even in the colonial days. They made no history and were not even mentioned in the history of the NIGER DELTA trading states. They were naked when Ijaws wore cloths and were already carving canoes. Are the Itshekiris comparable to the KALABARI Ijaws or Ibani Ijaws ? They speak Ijaw formed Pidgin English and imbibe Ijaw culture yet they think big of themselves. Silly.Complete rubbish. Itsekiri are the singular most civilized tribe in Niger-delta. They have a rich history if u want to know go and research Itsekiri were explorers who settled in their current location, the entire Benin naval force was made up of Itsekiri men the Portuguese even knew Bini through Itsekiri 2 Likes |

Did my ancestors choose to be Nigerians? To hell with Nigeria. Because I take pride in my history it means my actions divide Nigeria? Was Nigeria ever united? No If it was ever united, the pride of itsekiri won't bother you, instead you would be proud too Rubbish! 1 Like |

macof: Adumu might be the child of a prominent Ijaw man from the Agadagba bou which is now Kolokuma Opokuma area.. The ADUMU is actually the progenitor of many of the ancient Eastern Ijaw clans. He was a Priest of the ORU lodge . But Some historians link him to some Yoruba man that came to father the Ijaw race. An not sure about that and there is no evidence to that . |
