AdannayaBella:
It's very frustrating. I can cope with the texts for a little more while but what I can't absolutely handle are the trick calls from Glo with a typical Glo number. I get so angry when I pick the call and I hear a recorded voice on the other end. The other day, Airtel brazenly took the liberty of subscribing me to one of their unsolicited health tips. The number of text messages and calls I get daily from Glo and Airtel is enough to drive anyone insane. I mean, where do these networks get off thinking that they can breach our privacy like that? angry
I think we share the same. Naturally, excessive calls wear me out within minutes but seeing these scams reach my phone everyday is terribly annoying. I have been deleting texts like I was informed that some police officers are coming to pay me a visit. You can imagine how serious it is.

To be perfectly honest i don't think any network is worse than MTN in this rubbish. There was a time when they subscribed me for premier league updates. After eating my money i called them and the agent was arguing with me that i don't need DSTV for premier league matches (hearted arguement fa!!). After i insult am ehn nobody tell am to unsubscribe me.

Theres a particular app that helps confine most of these annoyin sms's & calls. Been thru d storm myself & this thing helped a great deal. They come truly but quietly quarantined in some vault. The calls dont come thru at all.

Sanchez01: I did in my case. I lost many detailed texts which are now lost for life. Annoyingly, Glo just devised a means, they have been calling my phone repeatedly with a typical Glo number and you would fall for the number, believing it's your normal phone calls. It's as if my privacy has been sold to third parties.
download an app called "TrueCaller" blacklist those number on the app. One yeye network can't be given me wahala.
As for Mtn constant text, as soon as I noticed a number, I blocked SMS from it as well(blackberry supported this)

ALL IZZ WELL

I don't just blame them! At this stage I am desperately expecting test/interview invite. MTN would be causing me high BP with their useless messages and calls.

I just wish Apple or Samsung will come out with mobile slap or punch on smart phones, MTN agents faces would have been seriously disfigured by now.....I SWEAR!!!

We as consumers can actually prevail on the networks to stop this.
One of the ways is to come up with signatures, probably about 2 million people and send a petition to NCC asking them to stop the networks from sending unsolicited texts. The networks should have an easy way for people to opt out of these texts. It has become annoying!!!!

It's so annoying and frustrating. The commission over-seeing the activities of these telecommunication networks should do something to stop this menace. I see no reasons sending text messages to someone who never asked for one before. I once went into an exam hall with my phone but forgot to silent it, u wont believe what made me lost the exam was because of the nonsense text MTN sent to my phone as i was walked out of the exam hall. This was something i never bargained for. This nonsense of sending irrelevant and unsolicited text/calls to who never asked for one should pls be stopped.

That was how they always disturb my peace with these numbers, I called airtel cc twice & I told them am gonna rubbish them on all social media that I know they are recording my conversation. Immediately, they logged my issue & resolved it within 24hrs. Now I don't receive such calls or text msg from them again.
