BlackTechnology: Until FG secretly instructs National University/Polytechnic Commission to encourage weapons related projects at student, department, departmental Association, faculty, University, states, geopolitical, regional and national levels, US will continue to treat us with disdainSo if So-called FG decides to secretely urge federal universities and polytechnic to go on weapon projects, they would just manufacture cobalt bomb like magic and before u know it, the Almighty US will start hailing. America have no permanent friends, but variable interests. Other than Nigeria's checkered human rights record, America's stances against Nigeria is a trade off pacification of their Arab partners (Saudi Arabia, etc) and their marginal interest in Nigeria. USA response to our needs (weapons), are tempered by the Arab Muslims sensibilities to their African Muslims group. US oil companies will not jeopardize their mid_,east interests to satisfy Nigeria's needs. Obama himself has a Muslim orientation. For some of you local champions screaming Russian,China etc. Other than the dollar transaction hurdles, and the current sanctions against Russia, none of these countries will want to ruin their trade relationships with the USA because of Nigeria. During the cold_war of east west divide it would have been easy. In the global village (world) of today where dollars is medium of trade, tough luck. For short run, we can only try the Black market. But, for the long term, we have to develop our own. 2 Likes |

IbokUtoroh: what kinda peace if i may ask? Don't get it twisted. US in Nigeria's ally, and has been for decades. A simple discussion on what the issues are will get us a diplomatic solution. US has removed governments for lesser reasons. While a jail term for corruption may not be far from our oga, I personally will not like his picture on that wall. |

IbokUtoroh: It is stupid when the legitimate Government of a Sovereign state has his cash seized by another country while trying to buy weaponry in the black market.Even Barbarian Boko Haram are not caught trying to buy ammunition in the black market. It is shameful my bruva . I guess you just justified the $9.3m transaction with your statement quoted above? 2 Likes |

Broadcasting your problems send signal to black market dealers of your desperation. And also empowered your enemy about your weakness .Thereby compromising your bargaining power. Now that their third party attempt have been publicly scuttled, have no choice, but come out clean. |

Ngwakwe: Indefinite detention without trial of alleged terror suspects at Gitanamo Bay in far away Cuba is justified by US Army Unfortunately for you and jonathan, your logical and misguided essay doesn't alter the fact that your own government is extremely corrupt, grossly incompetent and dangerously lawless. It's utterly repulsive that people like you enable the same rot and lawlessness that manifested the soggy situation we are in right now. Pointing your dirty fingers at another country yo justify crookedness, corruption, lawlessness and incompetence wont get you anywhere, it only amplifies your problem. Regardless of American policies and shortcomings, they are not Nigeria, their are not begging for weapons, their generals and government officials doesn't embezzle money for weapons and the welfare of their troops, it's still a country where they hold people accountable. Have you asked your own government where the $10 million came from? Who authorized and appropriated the money? Why are we sending such amount of money in cash to another country not only to break their laws after breaking our own money laundering laws, but also without a single government official with the money instead of some no name crew and a foreigner? Why is your government buying weapons from a weapons from an illegal and weapons supplier with no weapons sales permit? Lastly, America regardless of their shortcomings is still a lawful country and they right their wrongs unlike your own country, it's a country where corrupt politicians are prosecuted and sent to jail. They just sentenced a corrupt governor to jail for 17 years. Jonathan on the other hand make corrupt people his best friends, he pardons them, he appoints them, he protect them. America wont give out national awards to incompetent service chiefs responsible for our demoralized and poorly equipped military and lost our towns and villages to terrorists under their watch, but jonathan has no problem with that, he's in love with corruption and incompetence. America wont give out National award to police IGs responsible for the rot in our police colleges, but that's ok with jonathan, corruption and incompetence is the basic requirement for national awards.. Like they say, charity begins at home so clean up your own dirt and stinking underwear before pointing finger at other people... 6 Likes 1 Share |

TheBossXL: Sometime ago, if I'm not mistaken, it was alleged by the US that the majority of the arms used by the boko haram insurgents came from the Nigerian armory. With that in mind, u can understand the US reluctance in selling this kind of weaponry to the Nigerian army. It is a known fact that we have boko haram sympathizers in our military. Sadly enough, the GEJ administration has done nothing to address these concerns! What is the point of selling advanced weaponry to a country whose military is heavily compromised? Thanks for this comment. A lot of people fail to realise that the problem with this country is structural damage from day 1. And before we can move forward we need to fix this things. Our military needs to be overhauled. Same with the government and relevant parastatals. Until we become serious with our democracy and national development we will continue to face issues like this. 4 Likes 1 Share |

All these talk of US' omnipotency is just crap to me. Let Nigeria approach either China or Russia for assistance. The era where the United States maintain monopoly over trade, investment and security had since been over. It's even clear (with what's happening in Syria and Iraq) that the US will deliberately leave 3rd world countries to their fate so that at the tail end of their total annihilation, the world will commend them for saving such country, for being the watchdog of the world. Our foreign policy is that of Non-alignment and as such we do not and will not owe allegiance to any country; be it the US or anyone. What kind of Greek game is this? We are not minions to be used by Obama and his cohorts. |

So Jonathanians think they can confront the US of A, that is the stupidity of the century. When even countries like the UK, Germany and Japan always make sure they dont antagonize the Americans. Even the Iranians have seen the folly of being enemies of the US, they are gradually coming to their senses and are tying to mend fences with the US. Even almighty Russia that is doing shakara now would eventually retrace their steps and make peace with the US. Putin is just trying to get concessions on Crimea and some Russian speaking parts of Ukraine. We need the US, but the US need virtually nothing from Nigeria. They have stopped buying our oil and within the next 5 years would become the highest exporter of oil in the world. If prices are crash we would go abegging to IMF, world bank and other US controlled financial institutions just to run the country. The greatest flaw of this administration is the lack of a clear foreign policy direction. We seems to making so many enemies without courting any friends. We cannot afford to have the US as an Enemy. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Russia is not scared of the USA one bit... Putin has been pissing over Obama since he came into office, China is the one holding up US economy... and Russia and China will soon attack the US dollar, which will become the beginning of the end of america. The US is a dying project...they spend 400x more than they earn on defence and creating useless false flag wars to keep the military industrial complex going. the biggest stupidity of the century is that Africans do not understand their value, if African leaders came together and worked together they can become the richest continent in GDP (not just resources) in a few decades, instead htey rely on the US who is the biggest Enemy to Africa's progress to decieve them and they fight stupid tribal battles with each other. THAT IS THE STUPIDITY OF THE CENTURY |
