Do you think about it?
Why Okada, Keke and Danfo?
In my opinion, Okada, Keke and Danfo all symbolize struggle and deprivation.
Is that the image that can best represent Naija?
Are ther no other symbolic images of Naija?
Is Google subtly telling us that we are not yet really independent; not free from the struggles?

Happy Independence day as you share your opinion.

We should all stop this nonsense, how can Google be tribalistic. During the world cup in brasil all the adverts depicted the slums and ghettos of brasil with half dressed children playing football did they complain, see no matter how una take am every country is unique for something, so you want them to put a fat man looting money with a big Ghana must go

Yes!
They put the southerner in Danfo or bus (more comfy)
Westerner in Keke (a bit comfy)
Northerner, with all that regalia, on top machine (too bad)

Tribal themed picture. The Igbos are driving the danfo and waving the biggest flag.
The Hausas are mounting the Okada and the Yorubas, Keke na pepper.
Google definitely knows what's up.

Narrow minded peeps on this thread are saying its tribalistic. So, what should the other tribes that are not on that page do? Or you guys would have preferred if its a guy in green white green suit? Or, you would be happier if it is an imam with a pastor posing for a pix with a native doctor? My take is, they joined us in celebrating our nation's independence, irrespective of our individual consideration of what the nation's state right now. And you guys should also know google.com.ng is managed from here in Nigeria with Nigerians managing 97% of the operations.

Just enjoy it and stop slamming everything you see.

I wish they had used pictures of PEJ and GEJ celebrating after PDP unilaterally chose him as their Presidential Candidate sha. grin grin grin

Too bad

Has anyone noticed PEJ driving the Danfo while GEJ just waves the flag?

Does this mean to tell us Mama Peace rules by proxy while Papa Peace appears on the surface?

BTW, Is this graphic designer an ex agbero?

Seems the only thing to him about Nigeria is all about NURTW

Anyway it seems this is how google would like us to celebrate...

Up National...Progress!!!

@Op,

One can completely independent; there is always challenges and struggles.

That said, I believe google could have used better graphics combination to represent us.

Nigeria is not just about struggles, there are successes stories and triumphs. A fair representations will should depict both. Else, a simply congratulation using classic symbols, or they shouldn't have bothered at all.
Re: Google Page Display For Naija Independence Day... by Nobody: 8:56am On Oct 01, 2014
well, for those saying there are no igbos in the pics, expand the pics, scroll to the right, you will see a couple treking, they are igbos.
