You're a liar. The Ghanaian President was not in Ojukwu's funeral. It was JJ Rawlings, a past Head of State that came to Nigeria. The picture you posted was taken during the funeral of Achebe.

The reason Ojukwu's corpse got to Abuja was because there was no international airport in the South East to receive it from London. It was here most prominent Nigerians paid their last respect. They didn't go to the South East. On it going to Enugu, Enugu was the only place in the the SE with a standard army formation, besides that was the first place (Akannu Ibiam Airport, Enugu) his corpse landed immediately it left the Abuja Airport. The organizers used one stone to kill two birds by taking him straight to the 82 Division in Enugu.

Shut up. This was how you posted a picture of a dish you got on the internet claiming it was your wife that just prepared it. You were busted. The picture showing Jonathan and the Ghanaian President was taken during the funeral of Achebe, not Ojukwu. No president from any other country was in Ojukwu's funeral. JJ Rawlings that came was a former Head of State of Ghana.

Lagos had international airport too, the corpse didn't just arrive at abuja, rites were done there.
And, the most prominent people came for the grand ceremony at nnewi.
That's where the main thing happened o.
They couldnt take him straight to nnewi to bury, he had to be celebrated in owerri, Aba, awka before nnewi.
Every city was scrambling to host him even in death, same can't be said of adekunle.
If not for nl, most yorubas won't know him.
Outside nl, most yorubas don't even know him too.

There is no point comparing emeka ojuku and Benjamin Adekunle.

Ojuku was a Head of state of the short lived biafra republic and a military administrator of the defunct Eastern region whereas Benjamin Adekunle was the C.O of 3MCD and a minister during the military regime.

Ojuku was a head of state and military administrator of the eastern region but Benjamin Adekunle was a mere soldier who fought for his country.

Don't mind that boy. Lagbaja intentionally chose that location for that video. Even in the video, his runaway girl friend, Ego (an Igbo) came there a felt at home.
I just love how Yoruba keep their culture by not demolishing their old structures to build new ones all in the name of "modernization." If you watch films by Tunde Kelani and Mainframe, you will appreciate these buildings. Kelani doesn't need to stress himself looking for a location for a film with the 19th century setting. It is around him. Watch Saworoide, Narrow Path, Ti Oluwa Ni Ile, etc, you will understand me.

At Enugu airport

..... remains of late elder statesman and
leader of the defunct Biafra Republic , Dim
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu was
laid in state yesterday at the Micheal
Okpara square, Enugu, where a mammoth
crowd and top dignitaries gathered to pay
their tributes.
His body had arrived Nigeria on Monday
to a rousing reception where he was given
a full military parade with Army officers in
ceremonial uniform marching in slow
steps bearing the glittering casket at the
Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja.
President Goodluck Jonathan represented
by Vice President Namadi Sambo ; First
Lady, Patience Jonathan; Chief of Army
Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika and
Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State,
are some of the dignitaries who showered
tributes on the late statesman at the
military parade. The casket was draped in
green-white-green national colours and
placed on top of it was a pair of service
shoes, a sword and a cap.
Professor Wole Soyinka, Jerry Rawlings ,
former President of Ghana, and several
state governors, Senators, traditional and
religious leaders were among the
dignitaries who paid their respects to him
yesterday. The high concentration of
government luminaries and dignitaries at
the event showed that there was great
respect from the nation

You are foolishly dragging ojuku's name in the mud by comparing him with Benjamin Adekunle.

Ojuku was the head of state of Biafra while Adekunle was the commanding officer of 3MCD.

Your comparison should be between General Yakubu Gowon the Head of state of Nigeria and ojuku the Head of state of biafra but we all know that Gowon is way way way above ojuku.

Where is achuzia, madiebo and other biafran soldiers who fought for biafra the same way Adekunle fought for Nigeria?

As far as Nigeria is concerned both of them were officers. Adekunle got his as Nigerian officer that fought for the unity of the country. Ojukwu got his as a compensation for Ndigbo to vote for Jonathan because he didn't deserve it because he fought for the disintegration of the country, unlike Adekunle.

The bold goes to show how backward the Yorubas are.
You guys cannot sell the rubbish about preserving culture to us until you start to show us the family houses of Tinubu, Adenuga, Aregbesola, Fashola etc with brown roofs and dilapidated walls.
BTW some of those houses were built in the 90's.

Adekunle was a career soldier, he fought for his country, he died and he would be given a full military burial with a army formantion in Lagos likely named after him. What was achuzia's achievement militarily? what did the biafra army offer him?

What an interesting thread.

The General was compulsorily retired.

He's a retired Brig Gen in the NA and he's getting a State Burial.

Anybody who is not happy may board the next bus to Abidjan.

This thread is indeed funny, I saw how Chimax mellowed when ButcherXYZ addressed him by his name. Na wah ooooo.

The fear of pishure has now become the beginning of wisdom at nairaland. No thanks to that Ofe Onugbu guy.

The Adekunle issue shall died down weeks after his burial. What has happened has happened. I believe we have all learnt our lessons from the unfortunate uncivil war.

May The Soul Of General Adekunle Rest In Peace.

Ojukwu was dismissed for being a rebel. It was recently during Obasanjo's tenure that he was pardoned and his gratuity given to him. Militarily Ojukwu was nowhere near Adekunle was a retired brig.-gen. while Ojukwu was lt.-col. Adekunle fought for the unity of Nigeria while Ojukwu fought for its disintegration. Who deserves to be more honoured by Nigeria?
