BuddahMonk:i read in a local newspaper that Governor Umahi has permitted Ibeto to operate at Nkalagu. Also Nkalagu people are not bothered, they need source of employment especially man power works. Only that the main hinderance governor elechi who wanted government to gain money from exploiting nkalagu cement is gone. in otherwords problem is gone. 7 Likes |

redcap: Not just that Dangote bluntly refused and rejected the south east where he enjoys huge patronage of his cement, flour and noodles sales in his investment list. Dangote in collusion with Obasanjo tried everything in their power to kill IBETO cement in order to have no rivals whatsoever in the SE market . Don't be surprised if any of these men have a hand in the Martin Elechi obstacle to resuscitation of Nkalagu cement by IBETO cement. Thank Jesus that God has brought all their evil plot to naught. IBETO cement has higher quality than Dangote cement in term of durability and the number of blocks you can mould from one 50 kg bag. 12 Likes |

I think this kind idea could easily work in anambra considering the fact that the state possess 3 densely populated city.I have have decided not to support Ifeanyi uba fc since the man doesn't not understand the dynamics of football ownership with the fans been the backbone of its administration.I employe all enthusiastic football lovers of the state that loves genuine development to key into this idea .Onitsha axis can have a football club owned by enthusiastic traders/supporters. so is awka.who says nnewi can not have two clubs.anaedo fc ,nnewi united fc is still a brand that can project the city.we don't need government to start this even this thread can start this. As the talks about Community Ownership of Football Club (COFC) in Nigeria is been considered by some clubs, Alonge Akinlolu and EseOghene Edafe analyzed the benefits of COFC on SL10 Nigeria Twitter handle (@SL10Nigeria) on Wednesday. It'll interest you that the idea of Community Ownership of Football Club in Nigeria is packed with amazing benefits if only Nigerians who knows the importance of football to Nigerians chose to act. SL10: Good morning EseOghene Edafe. Let's focus on the BENEFITS of Community Ownership of Football Club in Nigeria' . Edafe: Good morning. Firstly we don't have a football culture in Nigeria, we only have football empathy/sympathy. With community ownership we would create a deep rooted football culture that would be trans- generational. Another benefit is the massive economic gateways it would open directly and indirectly. We also lack the requisite football administrative education, community ownership would give that education. SL10: In practical terms let's look at the direct and indirect benefits of Community ownership of football club in Nigeria. Edafe: Community ownership would also connect the next generation of Nigerians with their own club here in Nigeria. It would provide structural and systemic improvement. The pool of funds would be bigger and the players would in turn be better paid and catered for. The burden of running a club would be off the back of one man or government. The club would have better goodwill amongst its community and larger fan base. As members would always support. The system of players rushing out of the country would be reduced marginally thereby growing the quality of our game. Even clubs in Europe with a single owner, have a functional board. We have a one man over-lord here. Which is sad SL10: Who will be the biggest gainer if the Community ownership of football club model is adopted? Edafe: The biggest gainer primarily would be the players, then the Nigerian economy as well as the branding of Nigerian football. Two seasons ago Heartland FC of Owerri failed on the continent due to one man running the business without questions. SL10: Now let's use a local club as an example, let's the impact of Community Ownership of Football Club amongst the fans, society, league etc. Edafe: In a community owned club, a club can only fail based on what happens on the field as in results. Not what we have now. Eibar in Spain is in a city of less than 50,000 people but it's community owned a club in the Laliga. With the CAF/LMC licensing, clubs will struggle to meet certain financial requirements, but a community COFC would meet it easy. For fans it would open a greater networking window. For the society, it would open a bigger trade network and better community good feeling plus recreation and security. For the league, it would increase competition, raise quality of the game and improve standards. If we implement the COFC system, clubs would for the first time practice financial accountability system. The clubs would start working in line with corporate governance and international best practice. As it is today Warri Wolves FC were the highest spenders last season, yet their camp is like a slave dungeon. In today's Nigerian league system, the administrators are not answerable to anyone so they are not bond by anything but with COFC, a proper board would be instituted, and then a governing council, the electorate etc. SL10: Starting the process of COFC in Nigeria could be tough considering that TRUST is lacking. Do you see this as a big hinderance? Edafe: Yes it is a big problem but if we can trust our thrift(ajor) collector, why not this? It's not just about the money at first. You start a door to door campaign in your neighborhood telling people to come have ownership in your club and take from it. Having done the campaign for a given period, you get them to register a SUPPORTERS TRUST that becomes the carrying vehicle. It is that Supporters Trust that would collect money and administer it on the fans behalf, so it is doable any day. Yes, for credibility sake you must deal from a legal perspective and earn trust with integrity. Football anywhere in the world is a property of the people, until we key into the passion of the people, we're playing. Warning!!! This would not happen over night. The glory seed of the EPL & others was planted 100's of years ago. SL10: So can you highlight the impact of COFC outside of football in the society? Edafe: Employments, training, unity amongst community folks and the sense of pride that comes with seeing success in your hood. It would be a great boost and improve economic activities in the community that owns such clubs. If we have say just 10/15 clubs spread across Nigeria with the COFC model, we'll better our national GDP through football. SL10: Which club(s) in Nigeria do you think are already considering the COFC model? Edafe: Teams like COD United FC, Stationery Stores FC and I hear 3SC is looking in that direction too as well as Bolowotan FC. A country's GDP improves when economic/ commercial activities increases. With COFC merchandise & sales would improve. Imagine the increase in the spending power of the players, coaches, the club and others. With increased funding, we can also keep our best legs as well as get some imports from around Africa. We can also open the door for sponsorship for big kit manufacturers like what see with some South African teams. We can also use the professionalism to get club partnership with European clubs. Nigeria is Africa's market hub. SL10: Thanks for the chat Edafe: You are always welcome and thanks for your support and belief of Nigerian football. SL10: Hope to have you again on Friday to finish the series? Edafe: I would be here to follow up on this discuss as there are so much to be talked about, Nigerians should believe in a good cause. May I add this; In today's Nigerian football, we don't have club house, insurance, pension scheme etc. CODC would address these. It is okay to admire what is good and great about the European leagues but we must learn enough to implement them at home. We have a lot of people who talk but not willing to back their talk with action. We can make it happen if we put our hearts in. 1 Like |

The Ibeto Cement Company Limited in Ebonyi will produce 5 million metric tonnes of cement annually. Ebonyi is rich in mineral and dat is why I call it the industrial capital of the East. Whilst Aba is the Manufacturing capital of the East. Two different things. Cletus was for the first time this year named the 11th richest man in Africa by Ventures Africa with a valuation of $3.7 billion in net worth. My guess is once that Cement Industry come on stream and with the way Ndiigbo and South South Build, Forbes will welcome another heavy weight big time. 5 Likes |

achi4u: I never knew that work have started for there until Ojemba say it and your confirming it here including Vessi as well. We need to develop our land irrespective of state of origin which is artificial. Orange Drug is own by an Imo man in Anambra State, Tonimas is own by Anambra man in Abia State, Innoson is own by Anambraman in Enugu State, Geometric is own by Enugu man in Abia State...the list is endless but I wonder why when it get to Ebonyi the thing stucked. Am happy for the project and I wish Ibeto and Ebonyians success. What we need to do now is how to promote ibeto to our Igbo people down East, the reason why they should buy Ibeto who employ Igbos and have faith in Igboland as well as developing our homeland economy. 7 Likes |

Ibeto should be aware that the sneaky Dangote is building capacity and will use every trick to drive him out of market. BAJANA CEMENT PLANT OGUN The plant was first opened in 2006 with two FL Smidth designed cement production lines and with a capacity of 5.0 million metric tonnes per annum. The new third cement production line from Sinoma, a Chinese firm, is under stabilisation. With these three cement production lines the capacity of Dangote Cement Plant (DCP), Obajana unit, shall be 10.25 million metric tonnes per annum. When the fourth cement production line, which will also be built by Sinoma, is completed and commissioned in 2014, we will have an additional capacity of 3 million tonnes at this location. That will make Obajana the largest cement plant not only in Nigeria but also the biggest in entire Africa and one of the largest in the world, with a total capacity of 12.25 million metric tonnes per annum. This is a unique location where all the raw materials required for cement manufacturing are available in the same mines complex, except the mineral gypsum , that is used only up to 3.5% during cement grinding process. Dangote Cement is investing several billion dollars to build manufacturing plants and import terminals across Africa. Current plans are for integrated or grinding plants in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Republic of Congo, Liberia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia, as well as Ivory Coast and Ghana, and import/packing facilities in Ghana and Sierra Leone.. It has also plans for installing a cement plant in Nepal. Ibeto should have the outlook of making the cement industry the biggest in entire Africa and one of the largest in the world to withstand the kind of competition Dangote has already prepared for or Dangote will crash price Saudi style and match him out of the industry. The East alone is not enough, he needs to break into the SS and all Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

Stolen:there are ways ibeto can break into not only d SS, but d other parts of Nigeria as well. The first thing he must focus on is quality the rest, I can list them out, but after he makes d first move by letting us know if the project wud be feasible. I wud personally send an email on how to break into the rest of Nigeria to his company website(if they have one), or locate d company give them d proposal on how to do it and leave. If they follow it good, if they don't no problem. 2 Likes |

My advice to him as stated earlier is not to run off into any Africa country or Asia but to dig deep into Ebonyi limestone mineral to full capacity expanding his plant to the biggest in the world right there in Ebonyi and keep expanding. He must recognise that he is dealing with his people and take up corporate social responsibility, such as providing modern industrial housing estate in the community for his workforce and also to rent or sale even for the general public. See the need of the people and expand to cater for their need. This way he will diversify and become a friend of every government in Ebonyi. He might even find himself building hospitals too and schools and university. All are private venture. This will open Ebonyi economy and bring development. Akwa Ibom now building deep seaport will make ease of export to other African country. Eventually, he needs to diversify to other minerals readily available in Ebonyi. Ebonyi has salt and many more, let him exploit that and create a portfolio of strict specialization in processing of raw material, probably one of the two major industrialist we have in the east after Innoson. 2 Likes

There is strength in numbers and dey will go alot further if they compliment each other. For example, This geometric could mobilise to gaurantee steady power supply 24/7. Innoson could provide all their vehicle need etc. They need to coordinate properly and team up. I will even put this one as a prayer point. 3 Likes |
