That's the kind of society we find ourselves. Those with brains are not encourage with handsome reward but those that are into beauty pargent or talent show are given millions.
Imagine a nationwide university competition winner will be given a laptop and 100k whereas a talent hunt or beauty competition winner will be given millions or naira and a car. How will this encourage the younger ones to read their books? That's why everybody want to go into entertainment this days... everybody want to sing, go for beauty shows and to... because that's what the society support and give attention to than those that study their books to come out best.

However, if you want personal achievement of intelligence, research or discoveries, its a harder work path as usual. This should have gotten a higher value of reward but who sponsors events that don't socially sell? A laptop, a car and a research grant sum together should be given to the best academic, nothing is wrong with that but who brings the fund?

However, there is something I have watched all my years, the famous are not happy in their aged years, the real men of hardwork, with dignity of labour, seems always happy and satisfied in their old age despite they are not rich or famous. Have observed this before?

It really quite painful,for instance,I won the best orator and debater prizes for lagos state university(2013/2014),yet getting sponsorship for conferences was hard aside that the publication was quite low unlike the lady who won the beauty prize,I guess corporate sponsors should share part of the blame.......I love lasu so much for all the opportunities.
