Regions in puntland and Somaliland have ATMs and have not been affected by the war like in the South especially Mogadishu. You Bantus should be concerning yourselfs with Ebola and not how many ATM's are in the other side of Africa. |

tpia1: When the Somali government fell in 1991, the country's banks and economy failed as well (common sense). There is no bank in the world that would be able to survive a civil war without a central government. The people in Mogadishu are not celebrating the presence of these ATMs, they're celebrating what they represent; peace, security and stability. As an alternative, Somalis have been a using USD based mobile banking system for almost a decade or so and Somalia is ranked 1st in the percentage of adults using mobile phones to pay bills. One has to remember that Alshabab occupied Mogadishu just 2 years ago and today it's going through a major facelift. In due time, Mogadishu will reclaim its name, 'the pearl of the Indian Ocean'. Axum's only job is to talk about looks and hair, don't mind him. 2 Likes |
