So it was said about ngige they said the people love him but look what happened. I can tell you that adamawa is for GEJ. You know sumfin about the presidential election is that it is very hard to prove riggin. Okorocha knows he has no futur in imo so he would go for the vp post that would split the yourbas most yourbas on nairaland support buhari cos of a fashola vp. Even tinubu knows he cannot control a gambari and nyamiri. Together. The igbos also know that vp position has no political weight. I would say it again APC time is 2019 if they can still be one party the man GEJ has to many things working for him. What if Gej picks a yourba VP or even an igbo VP
2015 is not for APC.

If he picks anyone other than a northerner na die be dat. If he likes make im pick Awolowo pikin, Yoruba no go vote am.

I like the idea of Donald Duke but even that is not strong enough to garner enough votes for APC. Anyway, Donald is a PDP man and has been too quiet.

You've written a lot....the lack of paragraphing makes reading your type of comment above a bit tedious.

I don't think you can blame APC for the lackluster attitude and sometimes hostile behavior of Easterners towards the party...that would be a very uncharitable thing to do.

Almost all the political bigwigs of Anambra has made it clear that their political destiny lies with GEJ and not with any other party (even those in rivalry with Peter Obi).....and as long as Anambra is the political compass that the Igbo nation follows....any political decision for Igbo will always emanates from Anambra.

Please desist from blaming APC for the political choices made by the Igbo nation.
Anambra is just a single state in the South/East same as Imo and Enugu. It's is not the political compass of the Igbo nation. And the Igbo nation is not a boy boy area who follow people sheepishly. We are republicans and leadership to us is earned and not given. Anybody with plans to lead the Igbos must earn it.

The truth reality is that the SW is the stronghold of APC ...and where it VP will mostly likely emerge from.

Any VP choice from SE or SS because of religion consideration will result to a GEJ win.

Agreed...Anambra is a single state in the SE, but we will not be saying the truth if we fail to agree that the state has been the barometer with which the politics of the SE is measure.

You profess often to be republicans ..but never in politics....your politics has always been mono-dimensional right from the beginning of Nigeria..and especially this fourth republic.

VP position in nigeria is always about blancing the political and tribal equation. The position does not carry any political weight. I doubt fashola would want a man like buhari to be his boss. Let's watch tinubu would make a buhari fail. The guy knows once buhari is president he has no more control over the party.

If I may ask, are all Yoruba's anti-PDP. You don't base your judgement on the opinions of few people. If it were so, why did Fayemi's APC lose in Ekiti? Why weren't Ondo people antagonistic towards Mimiko's carpet crossing to PDP? It shows you that Nigerians no longer base their judgement on party but on the capability of individual to deliver developmental promises.
A typical Igbo man is not a party apologist. All he aspires for are people who can bring about changes in his community. No matter how much PDP re-brands itself they would still find it difficult to convince Anambra electorates to vote them into Governorship positions because of their animalistic and destructive antecedent in the state. The same thing applies to Imo state, though to a lesser extent than the former. But the problem with the east is that folks like Peter Obi rode on ethnic sentiments to achieve his selfish political ambition. Had Anambrarians read the plot earlier, I doubt if they would have fallen for his bait. Indeed the most nationalistic and committed Nigerians are from that part of the country. Yet Obi's mess has suddenly stained that good image that characterizes those folks. A huge chunk of the blame I think should go to APC. It was obvious that during the formative days of the party, some ethnic/religious chief fanatics used the party on a personnal vendetta against it's perceived opponents. Rather than give Nigerians reasons why it's a viable option to the PDP, they went about manipulating scathing attacks on a particular region who just felt satisfied with the leadership of the current President.
APC has a lot of work to do and chief among it, is to dispel the rumors that it is'nt a religious/regional party. The party's founding father's involved in the merger - not decampees - (Buhari (CPC), Tinubu (ACN), Onu (ANPP), Ogboru (DPP) Okorocha (APGA fac) et al) should make this their agenda.
Ogboru is in Labour party not apc, he's nt part of DPP dat joined APC anymore

Your permutations are not far from the truth honestly. But, APC can turn the tide around only if they drop sentiments when presenting their Presidential/VP candidates for the election. It is no longer a secret that the north-west vote will be sliced 70/30 in favour of Buhari. While 60/40 in the North/East and 65/35 in the North-Central favouring PDP respectively. Coming down South, one should expect a 60/40 votes for APC in the South/West (even if a Yoruba candidate is fielded) the reasons are obvious. While in the South/South a collossal 98/2 votes in favour of PDP.
Now, this is the part I think GEJ would definitely want to leverage on - the South/East vote. You will recall that the major reason GEJ floored Buhari in the 2011 election was to a large extent the overwhelming block vote he got from Ndigbo nation-wide. The South-East vote as it stands will be the determinant factor to who becomes President come 2015. If Buhari plays his card well by picking an influential Igbo VP, then it would be most certain that he would be sworn in as President next year. There is no two ways about it. Within 48hrs Ndigbo seeing their son in a campaign poster for either President or VP would surely reconsider where their interest lies. A vigorous campaign in the S/East by the suppose Igbo VP and the APC entourage will do the magic swinging the votes in Buhari's favour and dismantling GEJ believed strong-hold. Opinions that would mould the voting pattern of Ndigbo would be shaped to where lies its interest and the feasibility of an Igbo president in the years to come, unless GEJ decide not handing over to a northerner and secretly signs a pact to pick an Igbo man for President come 2019 - an idea I think he hasn't considered yet, due to the number of ass lickers with the tag 'Igbo Leaders' who have decided to selfishly sell their birthright for the spoils in government (Peter Obi inclusive).

Now if you believe that El Rufai's twitter account has broken the 90-80% margins GEJ enjoyed through the majority of the south you're on a long ting.

More importantly, PDP only needs 25% of opposition state votes and if you look at the map this was secured in all but 3 states last time. This is compared to PDP winning around 90% in 14 states, SW included.

If you say barometer, then you are simply stereotyping. The thuggery that characterized Anambra post Obi, was it prevalent in other Igbo states? Is the politics of Enugu and that of Anambra the same in approach. Now, take a look at Imo; you will agree with me that the state is liberal when it comes to politics. So please Anambra can never be used as a benchmark in qualifying how politics is played in Alaigbo.
Also you made mention of Igbos not being liberal in politics. Have Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia ever because of the party of an aspirant foil his political ambition in a contest. Even in the east prior to the demonisation of APC as a party was Chris Ngige not a Senator in ACN. Didn't Igbo sons contest under the flag of ACN. At least it was on record that ACN was formidable in the east; virtually pulling top heavyweights in Igbo states. Men like Ararume, Udenwa, Annie Okonkwo et al.
Now, the question you asked Ndigbo should be directed to your folks. Are you liberal in politics? Apart from Adeniran Ogunsanya in the 2nd republic when last has a Yoruba son contested under the flag of a pro-Igbo party.

You are picking bits here and there to make an opinion.

Ngige didn't win because he was an ACN member, he won then because he was running on his past record as a governor and the fact that Dora Akinyuli still had a problem with Onitsha traders from her past activities at NAFDAC.

Unfortunately Peter Obi out of desperation to win for Obiano created a very huge mess politically and like you earlier pointed out many Igbos took the tribal baiting and are still deeply into that tribal baiting.

Very unfortunate that the deportation saga and Achebe book has become the defining occurrence that have come to shape Igbo relationship with Yorubas.

4-5 years ago....the relationship has not degenerated to this level..

Good points, but do you realy think it will be fair to the south easterners,to be relegated and marginalised to the extent of giving a vice presidential ticket to the southwest, after Obasanjo(from S/west) has been in power for 8years,yaradua(from north)for 2years,then Jonathan(from S/south)for 6yearsthen southeast,no presidency,no vice-presidenthow does that work?plz am not a tribalist,..just stating the obvious.so as a political scientist..the game plan for APC shuld be to consolidate on their strong-hold in the west, but then try also to encroach on PDPs strong-hold,which is south-east..by ceding the vice-president to the East..any other game plan will be a "game-crash" cool
