You can play all 6th gen and early 7th gen games only. Cos well...it's really old. There are new celeron cpus that are better than that even, CELERONS.

If you can lower your expectations a bit, you should be able to get something workable.
If you opt for the fairly used laptop route, you should be able to snag:

A third gen corei5(corei5 3xxx), or a third gen corei7(corei7 3xxx) CPU
4GB of DDR3 RAM
250GB - 500GB HDD
14.1" - 15.6" screen, 1366 x 768 pixels resolution max.
The dedicated GPU is where you might need to sacrifice a lot, with your budget you probably can't do better than an Nvidia 840M GPU.

Alternatively, if you're quite desperate you can go the AMD route, for both the CPU and the GPU, if you don't mind the slightly reduced performance. You might want to check out an AMD A8-6410 based system or better still AMD A8-7xxx and A10-7xxx based systems. The good news is that you won't spend as much as you would have on an Intel corei based system.

Those are my own two cents, others are welcome to critique this.

The gtx 660M is not bad. U should be able to run current games on medium to high settings. That i5 tho!! But luckily its a quad core so u shouldn't ve too much problems wit it.
But dat display sha..... 14" is a no no for me! Wats d resolution?? 1366x768 or 1920x1080??

that is tthe mistake most people make, they think all corei7 is better than corei5 , when looking for a gaming laptop first thing to consider is the gpu. I play current games at high settings , I play RYSE at ultra. 14 is okay for me plus I sometimes connect it to tv . And run smoothly .whta is your laptop specs AdeLaNa1

I'm on a geforce 820m, 8gig ram, 3rd generation i5(dual core). The lappy is really low end. I play most games on low to medium settings. But i'm currently playing BF4 multiplayer on low settings and Fifa 15 online on High!

Upgrading very soon sha. Looking for a gtx 970m or a gtx 980m pc. These are the best gpus u'll find in a laptop currently.

and its dual core running geforce (not GTX O) but its better , will run new games at medium settings , plus the battery is good

yeah its GT not GTX but it's really cheap when you compare the price vs specs. I have seen specs in Nigeria not up to that selling for much higher price.

The GT 940m is not all that powerful and that was whyI said if on budget otherwise I will choose the gtx950m and most GTX950M pc are around $750 upward.
