Don’t be surprised if you receive a wedding invitation that reads something like the following statement:

“Bisi and Tunde invite you, and only you, baring your kith and kin, dependents and assigns, and you must come accompanied by only your shadow.”

The prevalence of uninvited guests at social functions, especially, weddings and funerals has reached frightening proportions. A friend’s uncle’s sister’s daughter’s brother organized a function recently. When it was time for the cake to be cut, the host swept a perplexed look across the floor. Not only were there more people than he had invited but also there were too many unfamiliar faces than would be expected at that function.
