My deceased girlfriend was forced into an early marriage by her parents!
.
Exceptionally beautiful, young, naive, timid and feeble-minded! She always opened up her fears of going into marriage to me!
.
She got married, took in and died few days after giving birth due to complications, after-birth shocks, etc. Emotionally, she was not ready for the life of a married woman (cross-check her qualities I gave above)!
.
Child-birth's hardships are extreme for our women-folks! Any scientific remedy to mitigate it is a welcome development!

Bolushalom:

Wow.
They really have to hold me down for injections too, lol. That labour pain ehn? I have serious menstrual cramps and each time I do, I always think "so labour pain will be worse than this?". I hope I'm able to overcome pain like you did anyway.
. U really dnt have to think the worst of labour pain for me its like menstrual cramps. Like really.. I'm sure mums here can testify. I seriously don't know why anyone will want to numb themselves and take risks. I queued in a line during the labour of my second child cos I wanted to buy Moimoi from a food vendor. cheesy still laugh about it. Everyone can't be like me. I still give kudos to mums who want the way out of pain. It takes a lot of courage too knowing what u are up against. wink

Epidural is a life saver....In fact, where I live you would be scolded by the midwives if you decide not to have one. When it is done by professionals, nothing can go wrong. I had it for my first and I felt like I was floating in air.My baby came out after two pushes and I was laughing and smiling all the way through delivery& stitch up, I hardly broke a sweat.

D thread says "mums: wud u consider an epidural?" that to me sounds more like a question, hence it shud be open to all manner of opinions. However d OP had made it clear from her opening statement dat she's clearly not ready for counter opinions against epidural! This looks more like a pro-epidural thread n if u dare disagree, ur head will be chopped! I clearly have counter opinions, so i'll save myself d trouble. All in all what we wish for is a healthy mama n baby. How u chose to achieve this is entirely up to u. So pls let's be less judgemental n more open-minded. Peace.

Exactly what I was pointing to Her. But She sees things in Her own way,and feels Her opinion must be taken by all, whether you like it or not.

Here's a lady who said a qualified medical practictioner in Nigeria, asked her not to do it and gave her all the negatives about it and also told her it's an area that needs specialisation. Yet,some people on nairaland expect me to swallow the idea totally cos they believe in it. What works for A might definitely not work for B.

Baba na because of u I register add dis comment. I see say u still active and na one of the old sch guys. I been de come here that 2006 time when people de discuss and NL na exchange of ideas. All dis fight fight jus de make man laff. I like you. You be man. Wetin women want today na make man de agree with everything dem say. Dem don de blackmail you because you talk natural and you no be woman. As God take build us, we get our strength and weakness for both gender and me love them good women out there. No man wey be real man go wan make him wife suffer or any woman wey him de protect. Na solution to dis epidural pain make me come here. I don get pikin for Naija, i don get am for US. Na d side effect of that epidural make me find dis thread if women get cure for dis thing. Since dem give my woman dat tin, d tin don almost wreck ma family. She no be d same again. Oyinbo own na do test, chiropractor, physiotherapy and all the tin wey insurance fit no cover but no solution.

No b dis same US I de see woman de birth inside water? If person never reach here, e go be like say na everything our mama and papa dem de do de backwards. Our pipul dem mind don de colonised ,if dem see anything wey oyinbo do,dem call am progress. If dem see our own, dem call am suffer, backwardness and bad bad name dem. Dem no know say oyinbo no put black person body inside their design. oyinbo de do like shylock at times, dem go talk the good side come comot the bad side, just leave am quiet. make i leave pidgin mata now

As you said, people are different and it's likely that the side effects may affect a percentage of pregnant women. I am not bothered by the CS vs natural honor card but I am a testimony to the fact that epidural does not work for every woman. If anyone has a natural cure to the pain that comes from this injection, emphasis on natural cure to the after effects which is the terrible pain women encounter, please advise. When I did some research on it, I saw that women may experience a few days or weeks but also long-term pain. It's that long term pain that has brought me here. All deliveries were natural, only in US did we have epidural added. The reason I know is that we never saw this after the naija pregnancies but the U.S. one changed our lives forever since that injection.
