To seek for divorce is not good as a christian u should commit the issue unto God and allow him to lead u on what to do about such partner but if u dont see changes dont divorce just get separated from such a partner |

There is no basis for divorce in the Bible except death. The bible talks about fornication(KJV) and not adultery.A good example is Joseph who wanted to divorce Mary because he found her to be pregnant before the came together. For the Bible tells us to love our wife as Christ loved the church and Christ loved the church even when we were still sinners. Mal 2:16 says the Lord God hates Divorce. 1 Like |

A question What about a situation where a brother marries a sister(vice versa) because the s/he faked born again only to revert after the vow. Is that not deception? No love in that marriage at all. Take a girl who was desperate to get a surname. And after that tells the guy 'you think you have made a mistake marrying me? Sorry you are wedded in church there is no going back. That you are married is that you are married.' Then she goes ahead to deal with guy the way she likes.....true story that happened to a friend |

honeyad: Marriage is a sacrifice. One is commanded to forgive 77x7 times. One is commmanded to love one's neighbour as oneself. Longsuffering is a gift in the Bible. Biblical love is not self-seeking, it keeps no record of wrongdoing, etc. The same Bible says in the last days, Christians will be killed and beheaded just because they are followers of Christ. It has already started happening in some Northern States in Nigeria, where some Muslims would stop commuter buses, ask if one is a Muslim or Christian, then line up the Christians who don't deny Christ and start beheading them... So people who choose to stay with their abusive partners because of their Christian conviction and these Christians above who refuse to deny Jesus Christ at the point of death are in the same boat...it is appointed for all to die once, nobody knows how, to negate the cause of dying in marriage, shine your eyes or shun marrying...Marriage is not by force oh...God help us... |

agabaI23: OBVIOUSLY that should be your fault for not watching and praying as the bible (manual) advise us to. The bible also says "be sober and vigilant" Also pray for a decerning spirit. Lastly, The partner we end up with is the quality of our decisions. If you're with a bad partner, obviously other things in your life should be checked too because of the quality of your decisions. |

OasisofRefuge:Hmmm....thought I read something about a man divorcing for unspecified reasons. On making a promise before God and marriage is for better or for worse until death do us part....all of that is pagan...non Biblical....in fact...it is ungodly. Didn't the Bible warn about swearing?....especially to God?...reason being that you cannot guarantee fulfilling that which you swear you would do? But yet here most stand solemnly swearing before man...and God...that we will stay married until death....but yet seek divorce or commit adultery during the marriage. Based on the Bible is this not blasphemy? How can you be a God fearing person and be swearing? 1 Like |

Jesus said it is better to go to heaven with one eye than to go to hell with two eyes. So if ur eye will make you go to hell pluck it out. |

honeric01:You are the one getting it wrong, I need you to understand that people can become what they never were or thought they'd be, there are factors that can contribute to that. So tell me, those hardened criminals that later became pastors/preachers, the good girl that became a wh*re, the christian that became an atheist, the atheist that became a christian, etc? 1 Like |

sammieguze: Fornication is not even a justifiable reason because the bible says because of the hardness of man's heart, a true Christian shouldn't hv a hardened heart, so It's only death that can separate Christian couples. |

Samabu07:Can you honestly forgive your wife 100% if you catch her red-handed with your friend? What if you catch her a second time and a third time? You will still care for her 100%? Can you relate with her as if those things never happened even after a long time? People keep saying A good Christian can't make mistakes in marriage, but it is pure fallacy. Many Great Men of God have made errors. |

So assuming i decide to turn my spouse into an anger management therapy session. Pummelling her to pulp at the slightest excuse. She should put up with it and just endure. Wow! I love Christianity. |

God hates divorce quite alright but Christ gave the only grounds for divorce in Mathew 19 vs 8-9 during a question and answer session with the Pharisees: Jesus said, “Moses provided for divorce as a concession to your hard heartedness, but it is not part of God’s original plan (with emphasis on the word "Original" ). I’m holding you to the original plan, and holding you liable for adultery if you divorce your faithful wife and then marry someone else (with emphasis on the word "Faithful Wife" ). I make an exception in cases where the spouse has committed adultery.” Note also that the same bible In Mathew 18 vs 18 said "Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." So if we unanimously agree that adultery, battery, violence etc isn't healthy in marriage and as a result validate it as good grounds for divorce, then so be it. It already has a bible backing. |

My brother, there is no going back in marriage. That is why you must first seek the face of God before proceeding with the needful of marriage. The choice of divorce shouldn't be considered because "in the beginning it was not so" according to His Word. It is for better for worse...when it is better you don't complain or divorce, why consider the option when it's worse? However, separation is allowed but both of you must remain unmarried. God bless you and Happy Sunday. |

Busybody2: I do understand the point you coming from... It is biblical to forgive 77 X 7 times.. But how many people have you forgiven that much? I will agree not to put asunder to what God has joined together but never in the aspect of severe assault... You telling me those who did not deny Christianity and someone who doesn't deny his/her marriage due to assault are on same category.. Lemme ask u how ? U think if d person dies due to assault he/she is making heaven directly ? I will never ever be In support of any marriage that has severe assault just because i don't want to put asunder... 1 Like |

A Christian can remarry only under conditions of adultery or infidelity. Ignore all these self-righteouess hypocrites who are suggesting that after a divorce you have to remain unmarried for life. This is a big LIE and not in the bible. After all David married more than one wife, and so did most of the people in the old testament or are we under a different era. SMH. 1 Like |

The 'under no condition' advice that some of you are reeling out is very dangerous and a poisoned chalice that should be avoided at all cost. It was probably your 'under no condition' advice this lady took to heart that led to her demise... Kolade, stabbed his wife Titilayo, (a staff of Skye Bank) multiple times, leading to her death. No one knows for sure what transpired between them to cause their altercation and eventual death of Titi but Kolade was a known drunk and wife beater. He stabbed her multiple times in their home. When he realized that she was dead, he locked himself in the house. he wasn't picking his phone that police was alerted. Police got to his house and they saw the gory sight. Titi was lying with a knife stuck to her neck and her body parts dismembered! Titi left him at some point in the marriage but eventually, they resolved the problem and she went back. The guy, Kolade is rumoured to be from a very dysfunctional family. Their families are well known in Iyana Ejigbo where the said Kolade's father has a family house. That's the much I can tell you for now. Still keeping ears on the ground to know what caused the problem. The gory pictures of titi is presently in circulation around iyana ejigbo and its environs. Death occured on june 24,2011 .... |
