Ucheosefoh: I am a proud practicing Christian but know well enough that Boko Haram is not Islam as that religion doesn't preach what BH are unleashing. The Bombing of this 400 year old Kano mosque and killing of tens of Muslims buttress this assertion. Everybody irrespective of Tribe or religion should join hands to fight this evil. Some Nigerian Christians have purposefully chosen the path of Deliberate Ignorance about Islamic concepts. Everyone that reads knows that the linguistic interpretation of the word 'Jihad' is to 'struggle to attain an objective'. What IBB is thus saying is for us to put the use of the Jihad in its appropriate sense by all partaking in the struggle against Boko Haram. The fact that IBB himself is a major contributory to what developed as Boko Haram today is a separate argument. The unbias understading of his assertion is another. 2 Likes |

Prayer and fasting cannot bring peace to nigeria because those tools are for spiritual warfare. Israel ("God's chosen people") has never applied prayer in fighting her percieved enemies. Security of the people is a physical responsibility and not spiritual. The take of Babangida on fighting bokoharam is childish. If Nigeria would have another opportunity in future, it should realise that prevention is the best approach for combating insurgency. When youths are gainfully employed, they will have very little time to spare for criminal pursuits and they will love their country. Asking for jihad against jinad is clownish. 1 Like |
