My inference from the above is that the 5 states actually bear the weight of oil profuction and the other states cannot even sustain Nigeria alone with whatever oil they produce.

Lastly, I generally do not expect an oil producing state to be dead like Abia is. It should be merged with Imo, honestly.

It's not about sustaining Nigeria alone. It's about adding to what we already have. Or are you suggesting the little oil(like you suggest ) shouldn't be explored cos it can't sustain Nigeria alone

Maybe if a northerner had asked how Ondo, Abia and imo are oil producing states Ppl wd ve reacted differently since he isn't from those areas.
