Boko Haram:Baga Massacre Has Vindicated Us—nigerian Military by KEVIND: 1:39pm On Jan 11, 2015
The Nigerian military says it has been vindicated by the devastating attack on Baga community in Borno State by the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The military in a message posted late yesterday on its official website defenceinfo.mil.ng agreed with the United States and Amnesty International’s description of Boko Haram’s attack on Baga as the deadliest by Boko Haram since it launched the insurgency in 2009.

According to the military, “This interpretation of the recent terrorists attack on Baga is quite valid. You will recall that Military has maintained all through that the troops never engaged in any massacre in Baga as some activists and the Media alleged in 2013. We have been insisting that such viciousness and barbarism were more typical of the terrorists’ pattern of operation than the action of the troops.

“Unfortunately however some interest groups and terrorist sympathizers for whom it is more convenient continued to misinform the world, have kept attributing the evil to Nigerian troops. The attack on the town by the blood hounds and their activities since January 3rd, 2015 should convince well meaning people all over the world that Boko Haram is the evil all must collaborate to end rather than vilifying those working to check them.

“Those who have found it more convenient to insist on labeling the Nigerian Military with allegations of human rights abuse using Baga as a reference should note this development. Let us hope this will encourage them to begin placing blames where they belong. The priority of all our military action in this campaign has been the protection of our civilian population.”

I pray d guys up there can, at least for a moment , ignore this fake reports of Amnesty Interntnal & go all out, this's genocide at full scale, vicious.

This confirms the 2000 casualties.
Like obj said, there are no bad soldiers but bad officers.
No wonder a British MP named Eric Joyce mocked okonjo Iweala on twitter today .
The clowns cared more about what was happening in Paris than in their own country
Before,Nigeria was seen as having dysfunctional leadership before. Nowadays ,these maniacs are seen as a nuisance in major world capitals.
No one takes them seriously anymore.

Honestly it sounds like that. You were accused of killing civilians. which you claim was as a result of BH fighters engaging you from civilian builds that caused the collateral damage. now again you are saying another story as if the arm never killed any civilian. abi no collateral damage. In as much as i praise the military, certain things they do is worthy of condemnation. You have veing collecting tax payers money and left the town to burn, yet all you see is trying the clean your name!
I mean this is another thumbs up for insensitivity. Even if it was BH last time, you still let it happen to justify last time or what?

Nobody and no region has the monopoly of violence. Buhari should please call his followers to order to stop perpetrating violence and inciting anarchy in the country. Nobody go sit down dis time make Nigeria burn oooooo. Everybody ready to defend their territory angry. Ehen, because if e red pass like dis everybody go answer their papa name o.

And somebody please advise him to go on BBC Hausa to issue a statement, not on Twitter!!! He just started using twitter some weeks ago and that's just because of the election. He should be advised that majority of his followers (fanatics) are mainly uneducated Northerners and some peasants majorly from the South-West and without access to twitter so his message of peace would not be received.

People wen dey wait one free meal a day and 5000 Naira monthly na e dey appeal to on twitter like say dem know wetin be twitter, undecided

Nigerian military making one of their too many blunders?

People will ask where were you when it happened and the next thing, these APC demons will attribute it to Jonathan .
The military has been given all they needed to defeat boko Haram they should do their work and not sabotage Jonathan's effort with their nonchalant attitude.

This is the height of rascality and moral ineptitude by the milatary, Are they trying to celebrate this attack, why do they want us not to belive that there was sabotage on their part in order for them to be vindicated.

This is getting serious. Our president has lost his touch on several crucial sectors of our country. One has to imagine what would happen if he remains in power for yet another 4 years. I guess, every household, would be in possession of fire arms for the sake of protection. God help us

Which kind of stupid press release is this?
Instead of giving hope to people by telling us how they gonna retake d town and destroying the insurgents, d military is more concerned with who and who not committed d past massacre.

Gawd, this is crazy! Even the Military shifts blame and washes their hands from the people they are supposed to protect. They learnt it from their master gej who would rather console with 12 dead in france than 2,000 dead in HIS OWN COUNTRY!! cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry

Men, Nigeria is all shiit and piiiiisssssssssssssss. Very useless country, a cesspit of a landmass. May woe betide You!

clueless spirit has taken over the military. It is more interested in absolving itself of blame, than facing ragheads

It seems the military is elated by this massacre, cos I don't know why the military that is tasked with the responsibility of protecting the citizens of this country will be celebrating this henious masacre like they've won a lottery. This is the zenith of ineptitude, insensitivity and callousness, the vibe given off by this message is that they turned a blind eye and allowed the massacre to be effected just to prove a silly point.

France is rallying around their government. Instead in Nigeria we are blaming GEJ and calling him clueless instead of rallying around him and condemning the Boko Haram.

Nigerians are blinded by the opposition propaganda to reason wrongly.

When there's a crisis, the people support the govt but Nigerians oppose and ridicule the govt efforts thereby giving motivation to the terrorists. If not for the negative activities of the opposition party helped by gullible Nigerians, Boko Haram would've been a history. Simply called sabotage.

This behavior can be seen in many aspects of the nation's building.

On the issue of corruption and indeed all Nigerian problems, the best way to tackle it is by strengthening the institutions of democracy such as the judiciary, the press, the electoral system, et the civil society, etc, giving them the freedom to operate. This way corrupt officials will be reported by the free press, prosecuted by the free judiciary, and not voted in by the free and fair electoral system. That's the civilised way to fight corruption and the only successful way.
The system of jailing people indiscriminately is crude and wicked and can't stop corruption. Because it's ultimately abused. Buhari did it and some segments of the society cried favoritism, same with obj fight against his corrupt enemies leaving his friends to continue to loot the nation blind. So this system many Nigerians are wishing for under Buhari will fail. Other side effects is that successful businesses and businessmen will be jailed and their businesses closed thereby increasing the unemployment problems.

So let's open our eyes and minds to see that GEJ has the right policies to advance this nation. He's fighting corruption the right way which I've articulated above. By being open and free. We are free to see how much he spends on food, etc. This way corruption will die and development will flourish.

It's unfortunate we have the most senseless terror organizations in our soil. Even Alshabab will not wake up and kidnap its own sisters or kill their own parents. If we're a Northerner sorry to say I will be ashamed of myself. Buhari is blaming Jonathan for a problem that was caused and propagated by his physical and spiritual brothers.

Instead of them to come out and tell us how their failure 'lead' to the death of 2000 nigerians, they're coming out to tell us how the success recorded by the insurgents during the attack at baga vindicated them.
This nonsense can only happen in a clueless country ruled by a clueless president with a clueless military.
