naptu2:

In the past they used to show the ceremony at 10 o'clock in the night (remember that tv stations did not start transmitting until 5 o'clock in the evening), but now they show it live.

They should show it around 10 or 11 o'clock this morning on the NTA Network Service.

That's the time most people are at work or school. I'll tune in tonight to see if there will be a rerun.

The ceremony has begun. The President is currently receiving the National Salute.

It's live on the NTA.

They are now advancing towards the arcade.

The most elaborate march I've ever seen was at the 1991 or 1992 remembrance day when the coffin of the Unknown Soldier was moved from Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos to the Cenotaph Abuja.

Oceans so deep
Uphill so steep
But still we believe
And when the road was too far to travel
Heros you came and carried us there
And the mountains seemed impossible to climb until...
You stood on the front lines
You led the way, out of the darkness
We didn't go astray
You were ready to die for our sake
And that takes a soldier's heart-R Kelly.

And am proud that my dad that was among the fallen heroes. Rest in peace to all 1994 Airmen that died on their way home after the inauguration of WAR AGAINST INDISCIPLINE by General Sani Abacha.

We miss and love you all.
