Being born out of wedlock does not make a child "illegitimate"... after all, some parents dont even marry at all throughout their lifetime and have many children in a monogamous relationship! Does that make those children illegitimate?

Again, the English definition of the phrase "illegitimate" cannot be applied to a child just because the parents are not married.
"Illegitimate" connotes "fraud, criminal, unacceptable and everything WRONG!

The proper description is "born out of wedlock" and the acceptable phrase used in describing such child is "Love Child".....in sensible climes ofcourse sha.
