President Goodluck Jonathan Meets And Mobilizes Bloggers In Lagos by Orikinla(m): 12:26pm On Mar 02, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan, incumbent presidential candidate of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) met and mobilized pro-PDP bloggers in Lagos, Sunday afternoon at the State House, Marina.
He spoke on the influential power of the social media for instant mass communication and mass mobilization and sensitization of the people and how he must leverage on it for his presidential campaign to get re-elected. But the most influential and powerful bloggers in Nigeria such as Orikinla Osinachi, Linda Ikeji, Bella Naija, Laila Ikeji and others were conspicuously absent, because majority of them are supporting the CHANGE Campaign of Gen. Muhammad Buhari (retd) and his running mate Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, presidential flag bearers of the leading opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC). Linda Ikeji's blog is already mobilized by Akinwunmi Ambode, the Lagos Governorship aspirant of APC with his poster as the backdrop of her popular blog that attracts more than 50, 000 daily vews.
The bloggers and others who met with President Jonathan left with different amounts of money in US dollars from US$1000.

With over 70 million Nigerians on the internet, the social media is buzzing with animated political debates on the national issues of the 2015 general elections in Nigeria with millions of youths who constitute the largest voting bloc dictating the conversations on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other popular social network sites, including Nigeria's most popular online forum Nairaland. And the APC has taken more advantage of the social media leading the PDP in many online polls on the crucial presidential election postponed from Valentine's Day February 14 to March 28.
See the complete time table of the 2015 general elections on website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Article 134 of the Nigerian Constitution stipulates that the a presidential candidate will be duly elected after attaining both the highest number of votes cast; and has received at least a quarter of the votes at each of at least two-thirds of all the states and the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja. If no candidate satisfies the requirement, a second election will be held between the two leading candidates within seven days from the pronouncement of the result.

• CocaCola sacked 800 workers last week
• Cadbury is planning to sack 700 staff
• MTN sacked 500
• NESTLE to sack 600 workers
• IDL sacked 200 workers
• MOBIL propose voluntary retirement benefits
• NBL sacked 400 staff
• MANUFACTURERS say they will shut down factories because of the exchange eate and power!!
• Sacking of workers has started in the Banking industry
• The Nigeria exchange rate is now 225+ Naira to a Dollar.
• POWER GENERATION has dropped again 360MW! BLACKOUT NIGERIA

WHERE IS OUR PRESIDENT?

ANSWER:
OUR PRESIDENT IS BUSY SHARING DOLLARS AND BILLIONS OF NAIRA TO PASTORS, IMAMS KINGS, POLITICAL ASSOCIATE, MILITANTS AND OTHERS WHILE THE CHILDREN OF AN AVERAGE NIGERIAN POPULACE ARE BEING SACKED FROM WORK.
HIS WIFE IS BUSY CAMPAIGNING FOR HIM.

I agree with all above: What will happen to all the people being laid off? to theit children, wives, family? WHAT

When we raise our voices some people see all these as being an APC or PDP issues or being a politician! They ask if am not being too passionate! NO!!! It is OUR issue as NIGERIANS!
We are meant to question a government that is NOT PERFORMING! And performance is tied to reality of what is happening.

We need to stop looking through our mirror of political and religious biases and see things as they are! Nigeria is in a bad state and Nigerians are suffering! I know how I share the little I have with people who under normal circumstances should be buoyant! All this whilst millions of Naira and dollats from our resources are being shared amongst a few and they tell us ..All is okay!
