that flawed argument is very dead on arrival. A prostitute does so for payment. How is it you say it is the price, when the bride price paid to the father and not the bride?

You can try to paint orange and black stripes on your pet frog. The nearest snake would still try to eat it, because your paint hasn't made it a tiger. Glorify prostitution all you wish, it wouldn't change reality.

Prostitution is prostitution, dating is dating except in certain moments of intersection, and marriage has no business being in any picture in which prostitution is posing.

The bride price payment analogy you have made is also flawed. There are some places where if you want to obtain the services of a sex worker, you pay the madam/owner of the house and not the sex worker directly. Now does that change the act from being prostiution? No. The same thing with the payment of bride price to the parents of d bride and not d bride herself.

Why is it that traditional divorce necessarily entails the return of d bride price? If you pay a prostitute for her services thru out d night and one hour later she says she is no longer interested, you are entitled to collect back your money. At worst or best depending on how u look at it, she deducts an amount commensurate with the one hour service she gave you. When you also marry a lady(which is supposed to be for life) and you guys later decide to part ways, you are also entitled to receive back ur bride price. Again, at best ur in laws would deduct an amount commensurate with what you have used in their daughter.

I might not personally agree with him, nonetheless there is a bit of logic behind his assertion that marriage is a form of legalised prostitution.
