Ha! Not really into that anymore like I used to. The fire in me kind of started dying off after exposure to this forum in 2012 and a lot of other things. Then I strayed into Yoruba history. It's somewhat difficult being a "lone ranger" or part of a minuscule minority amongst folks who've got a completely different outlook and understanding of things. I don't think folks are ready and/or will ever be ready for that ideology - and slowly but surely, it'll kill the human element in you.

However, the knowledge you gain from it is priceless and it helps in navigating life better, and for motivation/inspiration. It gives a belief and a sense of self-pride that puts you subconsciously on a pedestal, regardless of what everyone else thinks. Very refreshing experience.

Yes. Bumped into the forum via google, while searching for Yoruba and Bini architecture on boxing day 2011. Read through a lot of comments for 3 weeks, and saw a lot interesting and enlightening comments from kats, physics, negrontns and a lot of the knowledgeable old heads on culture/history. Then decided to register in mid Jan. 2012. Posted for 2 weeks. Went on a hiatus for like 3 months till April 2012. And since then it has been a roller coaster. Mixed bag of experience but the cognizance of certain thought-process and mentality you've always been oblivious to - is refreshing albeit comical at times.

Lol. Not really calling myself a "lone ranger" cos I know a few decent folks on here (though most have stopped posting) who share the same views and are quite knowledgeable. I just used that figuratively. Then again, majority of the folks lack basic communication etiquette, while the rest revel in utopia/idealism. And it's somewhat difficult and nauseating having discourse with folks who're like that cos the message will be lost in translation. Ignorance will naturally put anyone on edge, and systematically kill whatever fire you've. Er, let me throw two examples in here (not ignorance per se, but trying to work with folks not on a level you're on): it's basically like how Kobe Bryant was after Shaq left the LA Lakers and he had to play with bums like Smush Parker, Kwame Brown et al. And Che Guevara's Congo adventure and his failed revolution in that country due to the people - which was one of the major reasons why he ended up dead during the Bolivian adventure. That adventure messed him up emotionally/psychologically forever, and you've to always protect yourself from something like that by being on the defensive sometimes.
