BabaOwen:
Why can't the Nigerian army defend their action of killing unarmed and peaceful protesters

What are they scared of

Are they cowards

You killed unarmed protesters, just because they are fighting for their rights through a peaceful protest, I SMH in disgust and anger angry

GMB himself protested during the tenure of GEJ in Abuja.

GEJ went for a program in Gombe, people stoned at him at the event, do you know what it means for people to stone at a sitting president Just because Shiite members stoned at a GOC in Kaduna, hundreds of Shiites members were massacred. No one gives a dam cause the Shiites wahala too much and it happened in far away Kaduna grin

Now we have seen it happening with our koro koro eyes for our backyard sad . Armed soldiers with AK-47 shot at peaceful protesters for no reason.

If we all Nigerians stand up and speak with one voice and condemn what happened in Kaduna and make sure people that took part in the shootings were prosecuted, what happened in lekki might not happen.
Buhari's default approach to peaceful protests is violence. He has been murdering peaceful protesters since he took office.

Watch this NYT analysis of one of such protests in Abuja. Buhari sent the the Guard's Brigade (his personal security) armed with HMGs to face-off with PEACEFUL PROTESTERS!

Yea, I posted it here when it was release. This were Shiite members that were protesting because of their leader. They have been massacred in Zaria before this one happened in Abuja.

I think the West, especially the USA needs to do something about this tyrant in Aso rock. Things like this shouldn't be happening in this time and age. Funny thing is that, small Benin Republic for here, all this kin rubbish no dey happen for the country. Giant of Africa indeed grin

Is my eye deceiving me or where there comments deleted for mentioning the lekki toll gate investigation by CNN?
Is that not military related and can whoever deleted those comments offer a valid reason why they were deleted?

It looks one of Joe Biden's first foreign assignments will be to suspend the Tucano training and subsequent deals following CNN's oncovering the military atrocious acts.

I see that a lot of comments were deleted, prooly having to do with the CNN news. Mr mod, that should stop immediately.

Wow!! I thought my browser was having issues, don't know that the MODs are deliberately deleting comments related to the Lekki incident.
I made a lengthy post concerning the threat to our Tucano deal especially with the coming of Biden and also a potential sanction by Britain.
Nairaland is getting ridiculously interesting each passing day.
They should sha allow us take delivery of our market(Tucano and allied weapons) before the international community do something funny bikonu. The hand writing is clear.

Regardless of the Tucano deal outcome,Nigeria needs to work militarily with China. America is unreliable.

I agree, but American weapons get level, though expensive but the difference is always clear in the field.

Indeed, I prefer America but America isn’t returning the love and chances that China, as a rising power, would be happy to work with Nigeria in developing our nascent military industry is an advantage that could make up for reluctantly turning our backs on America and their overwrought and hypocritical moral motivations.

You all should chill, if Buhari is humble enough to lick US/UK's ass, we will even get several weapons donated to us. Or is not the same US/UK funding, arming, providing training and support for Saudi's genocide of Yemenis? Even after evidence of the brutal killings of Jamal kashogi. These people don't care about the lives of their own citizens talk less of citizens of "shithole countries".
And it is also very possible that we will lose everything.
Just don't speculate or anticipate anything.

The way people talk about the TUSCANO DEAL you will think :
(A) That as soon as BIDEN comes to the white HOUSE his main focus will be Nigeria , and if wishes be told he will immediately cancel the deal okay.
(B) You would also think that 90% of the weapons purchased by Nigeria were from the US.
(C) You would be hard pressed to believe that Nigeria would of acquired MORE DRONES , MORE deadlier equipment from both CHINA , RUSSIA AND PAKISTAN by the time Tuscano deal is completed.
(D) You wouldn't know that a Multi fighter Plane called the JF-17 will be in Nigeria Shortly
(E) You would think by the shrill coming out that the NA doesn't have SAT INTEL, C3 INTEL , HUMINT INTEL that everything boils down to the A29 ( IT DOESNT)
(F) THE A29 is a must buy for the NAF ( It isn't , like everything in life there is an alternative), I twill end the bh insurgency ( it will not, deadly iron will with even more deadlier intentions to accept collateral damage will.)
This is what Biden is facing in his first 6 months in office:
1.A Pandemic that has killed 250K Americans
2. A faulty transition that has left America vulnerable
3. A deliberately weakened NATO - BY RUSSIA ( MISSION ACCOMPLISHED) that he has to put together FIRST by stopping TROOP WITHDRAWLS from Germany , Afghanistan and Iraq.
4. Politically He has to tread very cautiously till their is a clear majority in the Senate, he is not going to say or do anything to rock that boat. he has enough domestic issues on his hands.
5. BIDEN unlike a lot of left wing democrats that have infiltrated this blog will be deliberate and pragmatic and in most likelihood to the disappointment of many( here ) will not have time for African issues for a year.
6. As you read this NAF AND NA officers are in China learning how to kill form 20,000ft.

This is so because Saudi has leverage
and they are not a poor country. We don't bring anything to the table in international politics wrt trade, economics etc infact Africa is of no serious economic importance to the US hence their lackadaisical and I don't care attitude towards us as reflected in their foreign policy, they're only showing concern of recent due to the growing influence of China in the continent. In other words their foreign policy in Africa isn't in trade, industry, development etc rather it is in checkmating the Chinese.

We hope the Dems don't fixate on an arms embargo on Nigeria but history always repeat itself. All those weapons you mentioned we are getting from alternative source will be useless in no distant time if the US follow true with a sanction because we will need spares, routine maintenance etc to keep them flying and Pakistan is US ally just 1 phone call from the white House to Imran Khan and everything we had with them will collapse same for European countries with the exception of eastern Europe and China but trust me the US will go to any length to see that they block any weapons deal btw Nigerian and any of US adversary. The Chinese are not reliable partners (IMO) their loyalty is to the highest bidder, those guys can cut deal with even the devil.

There will be people in his administration who will be obsessed with Nigeria /Africa and will pitch their agenda to him. There will be people who will be lobbied to do the same.
The state department has offices for African and Nigerian issues and their function is to make or push for policies regarding Africa and Nigeria. Obama's administration dealt with Nigeria, it won't be too difficult for Biden's. Everything that has happened to/about Nigeria in the past one month is high level politics. Even if Biden chooses to forget everything happening, some Nigerians will remind him. If he chooses to ignore, the issue will be stored to be used against Nigeria whenever their interest is against Nigeria's.

The same way you dismissed Nigeria as not being of any strategic value to US to warrant looking the other way for, Nigeria is of no strategic threat to waste that much effort on. They have little to nothing to gain or lose in doing or not doing the things you mentioned above.
