The IVECO vehicle looks like the innosin vehicle , yet can't the federal government encourage these local industries. You just give them your specification's and that's all, now the cost of importing these to the country.

God bless Nigeria.

Name of the vehicle is Achleitner survivor, parent company along with a partner will assemble in Nigeria firefighters, ATVs and other special purpose vehicles at the specials vehicles plant in Bauchi.

I think the pictures were taken in Germany, the SVP plant already exists in Bauchi so maybe the companies will upgrade it before commencing operations.

You mean the thunder like logo ? . that's an airborne logo usually worn by navy, airforce and army servicemen who are airborne qualified.

I have posted a lot SF pictures with them wearing that logo.

1st picture is the airborne logo

While 2nd & 3rd are green beret logos

Perhaps let our infantrymen be thought on how to deal with ambush scenario's . since its The BH hit and run tactics that is being used by these sect's.

With due respect that is basic military training.

Well the HMGs on toyotas have proven itself right from the Toyota War(Chad Vs Libya)
However these things carry less soldiers, less protection- and this is where I fault it

The British RMCDo r not exactly ordinary soldiers
Fun Fact; I have seen a video of our SBS doing same

Is that what you think? What's your unit of measurement or comparison.

Do you know the casualty figure in that war 10,000 +predominantly combatants limited civilian casualties.

Compare that to operation Serval which birthed into Operation Barkhane to route the Islamic Maghreb in Mali and others started in 2012 and is continous. To date not more than 20 French combatants killed.

How many Jihadists killed over 1000. What's the strength of the Jihadists and partners over 15,000.

Compare that to the monthly death toll in the North East.

Do you think they didn't try to Ambush the French they just didn't have any succes. Why

You think it was because they were using Toyota pick up truck with HMG's.

By the way a few of the British Marines were doing unarmed security in the Niger Delta.

Counter terrorism style of ambush us different from a well organized army/military. You can't compare an ambush from BHT sect that has being surviving in sambisa for years , they understand the terrain and when best to lunch there hit and run style.

The last few days ambush, the military blame it on the bad weather i.e: raining season . so what do we and how do we react in such scenario to counter enemy ambush ......??

When the Allies first went into Afghanistan they met an enemy who had been well dug in and had over 30 years of hardened battle experience against the Russians and others. That did not stop them they adapted.

The British were still using the snatch Landrovers. After a rethink the. MRAP was born.

The problem is two pronged corruption and poor morale in my opinion. Of which the after effect is inadequate infrastructure and poor equipment.

The public expectations on the military are very low in addition there is in-depth ignorance. That's why when we buy 20 second handed if not even third handed T-72s people think it's progress.

When we buy 120 Chinese MRAPs and 40 Reva MRAP's we go Wow !!!. Our peers are Algeria, Egypt and Morocco but our procurement is not up to 10% of our comparative peers, this is TOTAL MISPLACED priority.

In my estimation over 80% of our defence budget has been lost in misappropriation, corruption and outright stealing.

Nigeria has the capacity to buy 1000 assorted armored vehicles, APC's, MRAP's and IFV'S in one go. But we don't instead we were considering buying 12 ( Super Tucano) propeller attack aircraft for $600 million.

These ambushes will continue because of our modus operandi. You are dealing with guys who are ready to die as long as they can take a few of us with them.

Boko is not over equipped the have predominantly light arms and the obligatory RP7's, IED's and a few technicals.

By going around in soft skinned pick-up trucks, open and unarmoured trucks filled with highly and expensively trained combatants doesn't make any sense. In that environment you are like sitting ducks waiting to be plucked off.

And then our belief that thier is greater safety in numbers. Driving through literally a kill- zone in 100 vehicle convoys. You will be ambushed you just don't know exactly when or where. It doesn't take quantum physics to ring on your mobile and or satellite phones to your demented Boko colleagues and say 100 vehicle convoy is coming your way, ambush.

Collaborative informants is not the problem inadequate infrastructure, limited fit for purpose weaponry is the problem.

The police always had the ability to do this, they can even disarm those silly criminals that terrorize Small towns and villages, those who go by the name Fulani herdsmen.
We live in such a funny country, it’s almost like the police need permission to do their job.
