Maybe he meant God as in; Guns, Ordnances and Drones(GOD) grin

On a more serious note, he was speaking quite practically. Our borders are too porous, and doing something about it will not just be via a military approach,it needs political resolve.

In a situation where many of our leaders see Niger republic or Chad as their second home, where thousands of nomads and their beasts make dubious itinery across the border everyday, then we begin to ask ourselves, how do we define our borders?.

So it's a matter of political resolve.

A Chibok parent, John Bassa, has claimed that Boko Haram is still in control of some towns in the Northeast were the war against the terrorists are still being waged.

The federal government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari has repeatedly said there were no areas in the country being controlled by Boko Haram terrorists.

Mr Buhari, while granting a special interview to the National Television Authority (NTA) on Monday, repeated the claim which top officials of his administration has been making at any given opportunity.

However, on Tuesday, Mr Bassa while featuring on a town hall meeting organised by Channels Television, said the claims of the government officials are untrue.

“Of course,” the Chibok parent answered when asked if he is sure the terrorists were still in control of some territories in the Northeast geo-political zone.

“Out of 52 towns in Gwoza, its only three right now that you can freely live within. (that is, Limankara, Gwoza town and Pulka).

“Gwoza town was liberated by our former President Goodluck, one week before election then in 2015 and the new administration liberated Limankara and Pulka so, 49 towns are still empty with nobody apart from the Boko Haram
.

“They are the ones enjoying those areas and you dare not go there,” Bassa added.

The presidency, reacting, said there is difference between infestation and actually controlling of a place.

I think this news or report had many bugs and inconsistencies.

Is it safe now to say that the army should launch operation shoot anything on sight in the said towns?

As the commander rightly said, there is difference between infestation and control.

Please what is a town? And how many towns do you have in a local government?

From the write-up the main Gwoza town was liberated and people leaving freely there. Every other place there are likely to be villages with few people that are not scared. I believe they are under policed and people are not too sure of their safety not that Boko Haram is in control.

On the average, we usually have an average of 1 towns per local government in Nigeria (especially in the North) except for a few local governments in major cities/states.

I'm beginning to think that the president doesn't read newspapers or he pretends to play an ostrich, "BH is technically defeated", da furrk is that? They really don't care,if they did, the army itself would've been in a state of emergency for procurement and training.

Whenever Buratai leads the soldiers in those press-ups, I can’t shake the feeling piss is being taken but on whom I can’t determine. Is it on Mr President, Nigerians, soldiers? Certainly not on the terrorists.

Press-ups are as if the perfect metaphor for our apparently negligible response to the casual way soldiers lives are Taken both by the terrorists and those responsible for not sufficiently investing in their training and arming.
