No na u be 'sharpest' lol! Clearly you are living an illusion. Here u are reading what u glimpsed from print media and making veiled defense for mediocrity. Did you even know when this happened. It's more than 48 hours yet your government only responded after the noise on social media an attitude reminiscent of how they respond to Nigerians in distress abroad. And now they responded where are the sanctions on the Congolese government or the sanctions the host government has meted out on those who trespassed our sovereign territory. Do you know that's the least that should happen. What you see is just saving face.

You think what you read is the reality. Why do u think we have NIA case intelligence officers on the ground under the cover of other nocturnal diplomatic status and military attaches in our embassies. Before official statements are made the foreign minister is well aware of what's going on same as the president who receive intelligence briefs everyday first thing in the morning (assuming your current president reads them) and plans are made to preempt any negative fallout. That's what responsive governments do and where there're intelligence failures they attempt a robust response by other kinetic means to divert attention.

So what you are reading ain't the reality. Besides invasions don't happen overnight something you think I advocate, I opined about the signals you send out by applying some measure of soft power. About Nigerians vis-a-vis South Africans pls tell us something we don't know. That's old story nothing new.

I feel I'm talking to a kid though. Perhaps no point.

Your embassy assuming a sovereign status does not mean its out of bounds to host country, a recent case in point is the Khashoggi murder, everything we know about Saudi's involvement was told by Turkey, infact, they were on ground to investigate so expunge that sovereignty no go area BS from your mindset.
But im sure the DRC government can not effect an arrest there like we saw between the UK & Ecuador on the case of Julian Assange.

As for your show of force delusion, you must be joking, breaching Congolese airspace with your F7 is worse than invading your embassy under the UN sovereignty charter, besides, Nigeria can not unilaterally declare a military action on DRC without the approval of the AU & the UNSC because of underlying interests, I don't expect Nigeria to waste time on that the best that will happen is sacking their Ambassador & cutting diplomatic ties for a while, that's all.
Diplomacy is not market women townhall buisness, it works differently, im glad you are nowhere close to power, your Abacha mindset will put us in big trouble.

I disagree with your first statement. All embassies have diplomatic immunity guaranteed by the international law of inviolability, as codified in the Vienna convention. So yes, an embassy is supposed to be out of bounds to the host country. It is only on invitation of the ambassador that the host country (or it's representative) can enter the embassy.

In the case of Kperoogi, Turkey violated international laws by spying on and invading the Saudi Arabian embassy, just that due to how delicate the issue was,the Saudis couldn't take it up. There are some countries, like the UK, that have passed laws to legally enable invasion of any embassy on their soil, if the said embassy loses control of it's building to hostile forces or the embassy perpetuates actions that constitute a threat to national security. Apart from that, it's a violation.

The reason I gave you an example is to prove that the sovereignty of your Embassy is not sacrosanct depending on the circumstances, in the case of Nigeria vs CDR, we don't even know what the circumstances are so discussing a line of action is premature & a bloody waste of time.
I can give you other examples like Operation Nimrod, so when CDR breaches your Embassy first learn the circumstances before shouting.
It is the sovereign soil of Nigeria no doubt but CDR can gain access under some circumstances, its pretty simple.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has successfully destroyed a Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHT) Command and Control Centre in Dusula, on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State.

The ATF successfully carried out the operation through Operation GREEN SWEEP III which aimed to target some identified terrorists’ positions in the State.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said the operation was conducted on Friday, NAN reports.

Daramola said this was sequel to a renewed offensive aimed at further eliminating remnants of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province Terrorists (BHT/ISWAP) in the North-East of Nigeria,

”The operation was executed after series of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions led to the identification of the Command Centre with its solar panels, communications equipment and other facilities.

”The three Alpha Jets dispatched by the ATF engaged the location in multiple passes, recording accurate hits on the target area.

“The structures housing the Command Centre were completely destroyed by the strikes while several of the terrorists were neutralised.

”The few surviving terrorists, who were seen attempting to flee the area, were taken out by follow on attacks,” he said.

Daramola further disclosed that the NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, would sustain its operations against terrorists in the North-East.

Eight people, including three soldiers, were killed in jihadist attacks on an army base and village in northeast Nigeria ahead of Monday’s Eid al-Adha festival, military sources said.

Three troops and three civilians died on Saturday when fighters from the IS-aligned Islamic State West Africa Province group attacked a base in Gubio, a town 80 kilometres (50 miles) from the regional capital Maiduguri, two sources said Sunday.

Three soldiers were killed “defending the base from ISWAP terrorists who wanted to overrun it”, the first source said.

“Three civilians were hit and killed in crossfire,” said the source, an officer who asked not to be identified for fear of punishment.

Two soldiers and six civilians were injured, he said.

The jihadists attacked the base in eight pickup trucks fitted with machine guns, leading to a two-hour-long battle, said the second source, who gave the same toll.

The attack was repelled with the aid of a fighter jet which deployed two hours into the clashes, said the officer.

“The terrorists were pulverised and forced to withdraw. Eleven of them were killed and three of their vehicles were seized,” he said.

ISWAP ransacked the same base in May, killing three soldiers.

In a separate assault on Sunday, fighters from rival jihadist faction Boko Haram killed two residents and burnt homes in an attack on the village of Ngwom, 14 km (eight miles) from Maiduguri.

Gunmen in pickup trucks stormed the village in a pre-dawn attack, shooting dead two male residents before robbing women of jewelry and torching four houses, anti-Boko Haram militia leader Babakura Kolo said.

“A woman had one of her ears chopped off by the insurgents as punishment for resisting being robbed,” Kolo said.

The jihadists attempted to seize a nearby military base after the raid, but were rebuffed following a one-hour gunfight, Kolo and a military source said.

The decade-long insurgency in northeast Nigeria has killed over 27,000 people, displaced some two million and spilt over into neighbouring countries.

The jihadists are notorious for stepping up attacks during the Eid season, prompting heightened security across the region.

ISWAP split from the Boko Haram faction headed by long-time leader Abubakar Shekau in 2016.

Since mid-2018 ISWAP has ramped up attacks on the military, while Shekau’s group tends to hit softer civilian targets.

On Saturday, several soldiers were also wounded when their vehicle hit a mine planted by ISWAP near the border with Niger, the military sources said.

Taraba killings: Panel Arrests 5 Soldiers, 2 Policemen

Two policemen working at Ibi Police Division were said to have been arrested by the panel investigating the killing of three policemen and a civilian on August 6 at a checkpoint.

Daily Trust reports that the two policemen were arrested for allegedly leaking information to suspected kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Wadume, of plans to arrest him.

The arrested policemen have been taken to Abuja.

The panel, it was gathered, had also ordered the arrest of five soldiers, who were on duty at an army checkpoint.

Daily Trust further reported that two army checkpoints between the boundary of Wukari and Ibi local government areas have been dismantled.

It was also learnt that the corpses of three policemen and the civilian were moved from Jalingo to Abuja.

They are heartless criminals. This is the longest war in modern history. 13 years and counting. Billions upon billions spent.. This war will be over within two months if Nigeria came under attack by a state adversary like Cameroon or Chad. The government will basically pull the resources of the state to fight the invaders. But against Boko Haram the security of lives and properties have taken back seat. Billions upon billions each year...consistently...at the same time parallel projects propping up under the guise of fighting terror. Building contracts, arms procurement, supplementary budget independent of defence budget, extra $1 billion for bullets and munitions. $650 million for platforms we will not receive until 2025.

Boko Haram attacks air force base...extra budgetary billions for base security, millions more for special forces, millions for training on and on and on and on it goes with no end in sight. Meanwhile the average joe is sent into battle without bullet proof best or protective helmet. $35 million for the creation of Army aviation Corp. That's history now. We are not getting a bang for The billions if dollars we expend each year.
