President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said all members of the Peoples Democratic Party who defected to the All Progressives Congress because he lost the March 28 presidential election would return with empty stomach.

He said the leaders of the APC would first settle their existing members before thinking of settling defectors.

He added that “food” may have finished before it gets to the turn of the defectors to eat.

Jonathan spoke shortly after receiving the report of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation led by Senator Ahmadu Ali at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In other words, GEJ has confirmed that Nigerian politics is not about service delivery to the masses but sharing of the national cake among the politicians. And coming from a president? I think GEJ could have won the presidency if he'd stopped talking. Some of his statements are as ridiculous that it can get.

This prebendalism must be stopped!

Why is President Jonathan pre-occupied with 'settlement'. He believes politics shouldn't be about public service but feeding the stomach on public funds. What a shame.

One thing about the two parties PDP corruption was open and made available to many wheras APC corruption is secret and very hard to notice. The very corrupt few are much richer than any other politicians. Whether secret or open their corruptions hinder development.

I know it's so hard for you to believe but the truth is, the coming administration won't be business as usual. Quote me any day and anytime, the Buhari government won't be the food sharing type of Jonathan's government.

Jonathan aka For Food Only. The fool only thinks in the wavelength of food and ogogoro. No wonder, he has a shepopotamus for a wife and a bloated balloon for a son.

I hope he will keep feeding himself with billions of naira years after May 29, 2015.

If GEJ actually said this:

He said the leaders of the APC would first settle their existing members before thinking of settling defectors.

He added that “food” may have finished before it gets to the turn of the defectors to eat.

Then it means he is so clueless and has no business to retain the highest office. He was busy settling and sharing food and forgot that four years isn't far away.

The president's comment reveal the problematic dilemma of our current political maturity. Realizations, or benefiting from the dividend of national growth should never be party members only, nor should the payment of dividend be supporters focused. The entire citizens must benefit from returns according to contributions to the commonwealth realization. Not according to contributions to . elections victory realization. A victor is leader of all, not just the group or party that made his victory possible.
That is why astute leaders must use the best mind or persons capable, regardless of party affiliation to cultivate and manage the growth of the nation for the entire citizenry. Because at the end, he will be judged by the welfare of the nation under his leadership, not just the welfare of his party members or supporters. This tunnel vision leadership perspectives of pdp, that was only about their members welfare, contributed to their unpopularity and eventual failure.

Honestly apc should not give them any appointment infact defection should be ban out rightly. It's all about stealing because if you have nothing to hide or want more stealing why running around and jumping around, if you are sure you have no skeleton in your cupboard stay where you are.

...To think that this is the same man that temitemi1, severussnape, anonimi, firefire, mogidi, ozoigbondu and agaba123 would call their HERO saddens me..and says a lot about how they value their 'ideals'..

I have ALWAYS maintained that GEJ is a corrupt man, filled with deceit! It's just that his 'seemed' quiet nature is perfectly suited to appeal to the emotion of gullible ones!

Quote me anywhere...GEJ accepted the result of the election for his selfish purpose..so as to keep up with his role of a peace loving President and to appeal to GMBs emotion against probing his activities in govt...

Thank God he has been booted out! His recent serial replacements says a lot about the chop-chop govt he ran!

TANoids, i leave you all to savour the last days of your 'Hero'

The coming administration is not the business as usual food sharing to party members type. It is strictly to render qualitative developmental service to the country and also to change the usual corrupt ways of the Nigerian government. There will be no PDP style of food sharing to party members, new or old.
buhari i know but what of others? Is buhari going to be the one to follow through the process of every contract and projects and ensure it's done without corruption involved. Don't get your hopes too high my brother.
