Have said before, i owe GEJ an apology for mobilising & participating in the anti-fuel subsidy protests of Jan. 2012, because as long as this subsidy cabal is getting huge & lazy profits from fuel importation, new refinaries wiil never be built, existing ones can never function well & the nation will be held at their ransome..

KILL SUBSIDY BEFORE SUBSIDY KILLS NIGERIA.

I remembered the day one of my ***** gave me a copy of the presidential committee report on fuel subsidy.

When I read through that report I told her Nigeria is finished. Gosh, you need to see list of people/companies collecting those fraudulent monies.

We don't have leaders in Nigeria only fraudulent politicians especially those self-styled progressives 'mouthing' change.

When we told them the cabal(chanji movt) only felt threatened by the subsidy removal they said we were jokers. Well nigerians here you have it. They even want to go further to have oil blocks and protect the ones they have come september. One more thing we all know this is a bukola saraki and ameachi article against tinubu for trying to remove him from the sentate presidency slot. APC would still crumble.

The list was released last quarter 2014,that OANDO oil was the first wasn't my making,it was an exclusive report from Sahara reporters, click on the link and check for yourself,we should be more concerned on how best to end this subsidy issue and to repair the existing refineries.
you spoke my mind, why not make our refineries functional all this nonsense will stop. the tunubu of oando is a nephew to Sen. Bola t.

the question is what does it cost the govt to build refineries? Can't the govt build refineries and later on privatise them if they mean well for you? Subsidy is nothing but subsidising govt inefficiency.

These guys are businessmen so they don't run charity homes. The report clearly stated the amount government pays to the oil importers as subsidies. It never accused the importers of any wrongdoing. If government pays me for service I provide, how does that make me corrupt?

Nothing new here that we didn't know in 2012. What happened to all the subsidy crooks indicted by various reports?? Was anyone prosecuted? Was anyone convicted?? How much was recovered from the subsidy crooks??

Why do these guys always wanna shifts their responsibilities to the general public?? Why do we have them where they are?? What exactly are we supposed to do with this list, go on and lynch the people involved when we have courts of competent jurisdictions and the anti-corruption agencies to convict defaulters ??

This country is really sick under this administration. It was the same way they had to make a lengthy documentary about the biggest landlord in Nigeria, accusing him of every single crime one can think of, yet couldn't as much as institute a legal case against him.

Nigeria-focused oil and gas explorer Oando Energy Resources (OER) on Wednesday announced that it had completed the acquisition of the Nigerian upstream oil and gas business of New York-listed ConocoPhillips for a total cash consideration of $1.5-billion as well as a deferred cash consideration of $33-million.
OER believed that the transaction represented a significant opportunity for the company to create scale and significant value for its shareholders, pointing out that the total reserves and resources associated with the transaction amounted to proved and probable reserves of 211.6-million barrels oil equivalent, with best estimate contingent resources of 498.6-million barrels oil equivalent and unrisked best prospective resources of 656.9-million barrels oil equivalent.
“This transaction represents a transformational leap forward for our company and is in line with our overall strategy to grow our portfolio of Nigeria-based assets by focusing on those opportunities that deliver high-quality growth in reserves and production,” OER CEOPade Durotoyesaid.
He added that OER’s management team was familiar with the assets and possessed the managerial experience and technical expertise necessary to unlock their value.
Also commenting, OER chairpersonWale Tinubustated that the company believed in the significant potential that the Nigerian oil and gas industry held.

How sane is it to be subsidising petroleum products to in trillions of Naira when such monies could have possibly gone into building and operating local refineries??

It shall never be well with the thieves of our commonwealth! Sooner or later, karma will serve them what they deserve.
