@Palla, In Addition to Justwise's contribution, ask your friend to make "SURE" the hungry Agent details in not on his/her Visa application forms, on the page: where it's asked that- Do you want the Department to contact you via email or fax? She should put yes and put her email address. The other part where- Do you receive any assistance in filling this form? She should put no and she should also make sure sh didn't indicate any Agent details there. Also, there is another form(957-advice by a MARA Agent/representative), she should not sign any form authorising any1 to represent her or receive any information on her behalf. All correspondence regarding her application should be emailed directly to her email. With this, no one even the Minister of Immigration don't know any right/power to mess her Visa application up. Good Luck! Palla: 1 Like |

Palla: Very funny (lol) i am sorry but i could not stop laughing. Can you please tell us the name of the agent so that other nairalanders will avoid him, but did your friend actually believe all that lies? and does the agent think it is Nigeria embassy that the application is going to. Some of these agents are always going beyond their boundaries. You wondered why schools are using them in the first place, you cant get valuable information that gurus in this forum are giving from them. Most of them are alien to SVP. All they are interested is money. By the time you are through with your admission, you asked yourself what has the agent contributed to the processes of the admission than to certify documents. I will go with the advise that other gave that your friend should discontinue using the agent, there is a portion on the form she filled when she nominated the agent that gives room to change agents, she should state her reasons and the threats she got from the agents. With that I see no problem. 2 Likes |

^^^ Even if he gets a 2yr course, with what occupation does he want to get his PR? And why would anybody want to spend millions for two years to get PR when you can do it at once. Your brother must be called to bar in any of the States before being eligible for PR as a lawyer. 1 Like |

Good day all, please am new to the house and I need some advice on my profile. I am 31years old and have worked for 5years as haulage manager in a multinational in Nigeria, I have a 2:1 degree in Mathematics(4 years) in 2009 and an MBA in 2014, I have checked the ANZSCO that matches my experience(Transport Company Manager and it requires AQF Associate degree?). Please I intend to apply to VETASSESS for assessment but i need gurus in the house to assess me first so I would know my chances on a scale of 1-10. Also do I need to use both degrees in my application to Vetassess or one will be sufficient. Thanks |

omooba2015: Let me just do a big favour: if you, or any other person intends to study Law to get a PR in Australia, please do yourself a favour and apply for a Juris Doctor (JD) instead of a Masters. A Masters will not qualify you to be admitted into any Supreme Court in Australia but a JD will. You need to be admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia before you can be issued a 'Skilled Migration Letter' by any State Legal Admission Authority (SLAA). I and a few other people made the mistake of coming here for a Masters. Some changed to JD midway and others just got discouraged. Anyway, the JD is also a postgraduate course, it is for a 3 year duration, but you can apply for a credit transfer from your intended university. If successful, this may reduce the duration to 2 years. Whatever the case, please always call the school and have a chat with someone or, at least, send them an email. Believe me, you are better off getting all relevant info from university program representatives themselves. In the alternative, you can simply apply for academic, and Legal Practice Course, exemptions directly from Nigeria. That way, the SLAA of the State or territory you desire will advise you on the number and kind of course you must complete to be admitted to the Supreme court. Once advised, you may proceed to complete the courses in any of the accredited universities listed by the SLAA or, like in the case of the New South Wales Legal Practitioners Admission Board (LPAB) in Sydney, you may complete the required courses by enrolling and studying for the Board's own Diploma in Law course. I guarantee you that the Board's Diploma course is way cheaper but it doesn't qualify you for a visa. This means you will have to study as a correspondence and fly over to Sydney to complete your exams. Any which way, it will cost quite some cheddars. Please don't mind my replying here even though you have sent me a private mail. By so doing, I hope to fore warn any other person contemplating studying a Masters in Law for PR. You see, most education agents fail to let candidates know this fact. Whether it is intentional or an oversight, by God who made me, I do not know. But what I can tell you is that those of us here down-under have since stumbled on the knowledge that universities in Australia pay agents a commission - out of the very expensive fees paid by each student they recommend to their university. So you see, the more students they direct there, or even better, the more expensive your fees, the better for your agents. My mistake has cost me some $37,000 (AUD) in tuition fee for a 1yr Masters at UNSW. But it's all good, I've applied for the JD and got the whole 1yr of Master subtracted from JD years. Bye and large, this advice is worth $37,000 (AUD) in mistake! Now, how about that for some candid reflection. By the way, I will still reply your mail as I have LadyGuinivere's. God speed with your aspirations and all you lay your hands on. Peace, love and light 12 Likes 1 Share |

Hello people, I am abit at the crossroads here. after successfully completing my medicals and certifying my documents, I was told by pfl to provide a future employment letter so that the embassy will have no reason to deny me visa, but he also said I can't still submit my application without it.. the issue I don't know where to get one...so am abit confused as to if I should put my submission on hold pending when I manage to get the letter or to take the risk and submit it like that...I need advise from gurus in the house 1 Like |

At last! My efamily, kindly help me thank the Almighty God for my successful visa application It's been a very tough and challenging journey but God saw us through. Lots of little mistakes here and there I barely have time to sit still and carefully plot things the way I wanted but the great ladies and gents on this thread are from another planet, I thank you all specially. FutureDon! expect me in Queensland. Your work on my SoP was not in vain you see? 2Posh, scratch that, 10000000Posh, you have been wonderful, Erictack203, Chi50, bellong, Ferdimako, bossladyMo, scrollmeout and so many others. My Timeline 1. Medicals for me and wife: Mid October (I unwisely filled so many things on the wifey's form for HAP ID and she ended up doing so many tests! Not the best thing to do, please just say no to most of the questions -- I'm talking particularly to the health workers here. Yes, you don't plan to enter an hospital, you don't plan to deliver there, you don't plan to do anything, no? You just want to be on your own there ) 2. 11th Nov Gathered all my Docs and Lodged at Teleperformance Abj after making an appointment online 3.. Application got to Pretoria on 13th Nov 4. Decision made on 27th Nov 5. I got the email on 30th Nov I didn't include my statement of account. I'm self employed and I have a valid Tax Clearance Cert so it makes a lot of things easier. your sop is very, very important. Westerners, in my little interaction with them, are generally thorough and they don't just assume and over look stuff. So please take time out and repeatedly review your docs. I did everything DIY via Australia thread on NL and the above is my story. IOM is next 6 Likes 1 Share |
