He should shut up. The yardstick should be Mu'azu and not Yuguda. Mu'azu did wonders in Bauchi. He shouldn't even dare go back 16 years. 8 years is more like it. And I can bet he won't even measure up to Mu'azu. This one he is already complaining. Isn't that the reason you were voted in? Fix the problem and stop the lamentations already. 3 Likes |

APC will spend their whole four year tenure castigating ex PDP politicians just to cover up their incapability. Change indeed! 2 Likes |

adeaks:. Shey you see politics. We're not ready to face reality yet in 9ja. Fact is at least 10 to 15 states are not viable at all and should never have been created. You cannot just create states with the huge bureaucracy that go with them: governors and deputy govnrs, State HoA, commissioners and aids, civil service/departments & parastatals, etc. All on top of oil money, except perhaps Lagos, Rivers, Ogun and a few other states with a decent IGR. We cannot afford more than 20 states, a unicameral parliament, ministers drawn from 6 geopolitical zones, not each state. |

Most ex_governors left their state treasury empty as the handed over to the present governors. Some even went as far as accummulating huge debts for their states; this has translated to the huge debt being inherited by the current president. Lagos is a lead debtor to the international financial institutions. |

It is easier if one just travels to Bauchi and ask the Governor directly if he has proof or not. Not sure if there are direct flights to Bauchi from Questionville. MuguliciousMUGU: |

AreaFada2: Hmmmm. But if we merge those states and reduce them to 20 as you are proposing, how do we battle the ensuing marginalization of the minority ethnic groups. In my opinion, Nigeria is too big for the system you are proposing to work. That's why even the last National conference agreed that new States should be created to balance the currently inequality in d number of states per geo political zone despite d fact that we are having financial problems. The current number of states has made it possible for some areas that would otherwise be subsumed to receive adequate representation. |

adeaks:. What we need is better governance at the grassroot. Local councils doing their jobs. Take for example, if you come from Ondo State and your roads are good, light is working, schools, hospitals, libraries, waste dispal, booming local economy, low unemployment, will you care if your governor is from Ifo, Owo, Akure, Ikare or wherever? Or In Edo State in last election where Benin people (including Oba's palace) preferred Osho Baba to a Bini guy with ties to the palace of Oba Benin. Because Osho Baba delievered a little bit, far more than a pervious governer lucky who is Bini. |

Reason why some want one Nigeria (oil money) aka freebies. Tell me how you will be sharing the money every month and expect them to work properly. If that ex-gov were paying himself from state internally generated revenue then he will work and even over work. Buhari is coming to try his best but Nigeria require a national restructuring that will sweep across the entire country to heal things fast. We must make nigeria collective project that is what is good for Mr A should equally be good or replay to Mr B. |
