What she did was exceptionally stupid. Why

He came here with the full backing of the Government of Nigeria. Why embarrass and make a fool of your self and your country.

Did she think of the backlash the Govt of Zimbabwe may try to do if they are vexed and decide to retaliate against Nigerians going about their legitimate Biz in Zimbabwe.

What if the bodyguards had wrestled her down, hit her or caused her a serious injury under the pretence that she was coming too close and was seen as a security threat to the safety of a sitting President. What will she gain beside licking her wounds. The President and the people assigned to guard him will leave unscathed with their diplomatic immunity. (If Mugabe went to the UN General Assembly in New York and a journalist was this daft and was dealt; nothing will happen because no matter how the rest of the world feels. He is a leader of a country. Remember when the former Presidents of Iran and Venezuala used to come for UN meetings and insult President G W Bush).

Mugabe may not be a Nation's Leader we all Love but he still is President. Most People have condemn this gutter behaviour and the lady should be ashamed.

For those of you who support her. If you had this very wicked selfish and greedy elderly man in your neighbourhood that people dislike. Then he comes to function where a lot of people were invited and your DAUGHTER went in front of everyone and started being rude and raining abuses on this man and having a good laugh. Will you applaud her and say I am very proud of my child

Lose their jobs?

The founder of SR was the main culprit at the event. He was the one shouting and harrassing Mugabe when he entered the car.

He chose a female reporter to gain access and then piggyback to Mugabe. A male reporter would not have been allowed to get that far.

When SR founder harassed a Nigerian minister at a townhall meeting in US, he was hailed.

Now he's taken his "home bad behaviour" outside people are beginning to notice.

He had better be called to order before it gets out of hand (I doubt that though).
pls, what really happened?
how did SR disrespect Mugabe?

Only savages would praise such crude behaviour.

That journalist was unprofessional and more like an attack dog paid specially for that part. It looks it had been planned beforehand to humiliate him. The action suggests it wasn't meant to be an objective step to examining any issue.

Imagine you as a father isn't in best of relationships with a colleague because of his views/opinions differ from your. But being business colleague, he is bound by courtesy/diplomacy to attend a ceremony at your home. And then your little daughter strolls out of her room, hauling insults at him while everyone looked on. Such embarrassing little child, praise her as a hero if you like.

It was a clear breach on security protocol of a visiting Head of State. Imagine her an assassin posed as a reporter? This is very embarrassing for Nigeria.
Barbaric, savage, low-life and crass behaviour!

REPORT THE NEWS. DON'T MAKE THE NEWS
Freedom of the Press does not mean freedom to harass and throw insults to whom you disagree.
Political Activisim is not proffessional Journalisim.
Showing respect to a visiting President does not stop SR from asking him tough questions.
Insulting the interviewee will definitely not get your readers/viewers any responses or information.
So what was their point. For whatever it's worth. I as a Nigerian apologize on behalf of my country to all our guests. SR should apologize to her readers/viewers for such crass behavior. But that will be asking for too much. How do you give what you don't have .

Watch what happpens after Mugabe enters his car.

It is obvious that SR was not out for an objective interview.

SR would have ridiculed Mugabe no matter his response.

The guy shouting at the end of the clip is Sowore the founder of SR.

Obviously, this is not journalism!

In as much as I don't like Mugabe; I think Sahara reporter crossed the line; he was a visitor in nigeria or do they think they have better opinions than the citizens of his country? They are the only one who can rise up and vote him out or in;

I tell you bro! That is no where near journalism. That's mere harassment. It's not professional at all. That guy and the ugly woman should be sanctioned! shocked

Very correct. it shows how uncut the whole show looks and it is an embarrassment to our beloved country. The protocol was also terrible, visiting head of government should not be exposed to such nonsense. The crowd around the VVIP section was too much, it should have been restricted..... again no matter what, President Robert Mugabe should be respected and accorded full compliment as an African Icon. Any body that wants Mugabe out of power should go and contest election in Zimbabwe and stop harassing the Old man.

I completely agree with you, especially with the security, it was an embarrassment. She probably thought becos they had their way with GEJ, they have become the epitome of journalism and democracy in Nigeria. She won't dare try this with an IBB or OBJ or PMB. They would put her in her place. Sahara reporter forming Hard Talk with Steve on BBC

WAO! THIS IS THE HEIGHT OF UNPROFESSIONALISM. WHAT WERE THE SECURITY DETAILS ATTACHED TO HIM DOING? HOW COULD THEY HAVE ALLOWED THIS KIND OF POROUS ACCESS TO A VISITING PRESIDENT? I AM A NIGERIAN BUT I DETASTE THIS UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT. A VISITING PRESIDENT REPRESENTS THE IMAGE OF HIS COUNTRY, IF THE ZIMBABWEAN RE-ELECT HIM A MILLION TIME, ITS THEIR COUNTRY AND THEIR CHOICE, THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF DEMOCRACY. WE SHOULDNT TAKE PANADOL FOR THEIR HEADACHE. THIS ACT VIOLATES DIPLOMATIC RIGHT AND ALL WELL MEANING NIGERIANS MUST CONDEMN IT. IT DOES NOT SHOW MATURITY AT ALL. LETS BE SINCERE, IF THIS KIND OF HARRASMENT IS DONE TO OUR PRESIDENT WE WILL BE VERY ANGRY. WHAT IS BAD IS BAD. SAHARA REPORTERS SHOULD HAVE BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM FOR MEDIA CHAT AND NOT THIS DISPLAY OF SHAME UPON NIGERIA. ITS A SHAME ON US.
