Andrew Essien Ndifreke, a Nigerian woman has been stranded in Ghana for two days after operators of Ghanaian airline, Fly Africa, told her it’s against their company policy to fly anyone in a wheelchair.

Ms. Ndifreke left Port Harcourt to Lagos and to Accra by flight, but now stranded in Accra.

According to her, she tried other airlines too but they all turned her down.

She was left with the option of facing a 10-hour road trip to her destination.

Doesn't make any sense.. What if their president had an accident and was amputated, will they tell him not to board a flight. Africans and backwardness.

According to the tweet, it says it is comapny policy, "ETHICS". Remember this is not Nigeria where anything is amendable. Sorry to the woman though.

Which African president does not have a private jet, or does not have influence on flights.

Surely the airlines can help her to her seat without using the wheelchair. Except if she's asking to be flown seated on the wheelchair which is unacceptable given the safety implication.

The story is one sided.

What exactly did they tell her to do that she rejected?

What company policy prohibits people with disabilities from flying?

She needs to comply with their directives if she wants a short journey home.

What sort of flimsy excuse is this. So people that are wheelchair bound are not allow to fly in Ghana. The local airline operators in Ghana should be ashamed of themselves right now. It baffles me when some African countries celebrate mediocrity and backwardness.

Ghanaians should better have straight legs, because we're kicking them off our planes too.

Strange. I boarded an airline from Tarkoradi to Accra few weeks ago. A woman was allowed to board without any issue. Even the woman was assisted by the crew.

Well, anything that has to do with Nigeria is usually treated harshly. When is Nigeria getting her lost glory back?
