Good plan. But Pls try and create a buffer/ air space between th kitchen and dinning.this will absorb smells from the kitchen not escaping to the parlour. Just create a small space so the dinning door doesn't open directly to the kitchen. God will see u tru

Form follows function. Imagine no cross ventilation in the living room. Sometimes u just gotta sacrifice aesthetics for functionality.

Arch. Toys2Seven.
It quickly struck me too that the ventilation of the living room is questionable. We must always remember that this is Nigeria where electricity is very unstable. So natural ventilation should be a top priority in our building designs.

I saw the blocks placed on each other too at the corner in the front. They need to take those down and redo it. I don't think the mixture ratio was the cause of the mortar being red. I think it is the type of sand mixed with cement. Some sand come red and no matter how you mix the sand with cement, the mortar still comes out red.
You just said my mind.

I think the dpc height is low from what am seeing .pls consider rising damp.next time try also and reinforce either the dpc or foundation.it prevents lateral cracks .nice though ensure proper bounding of bricks too . God's grace bro.
Re: My 4 Bedroom Project by knightehis(m): 9:31am On Oct 23, 2016
It seems no German floor, ur walls will by capillary effect absorb water from d ground and as a result will cause damp walls. Not a good one for buildings because it leads to paint flake (paint peeling off the bottom part of d wall). Nice plan tho

On a lighter note, why are there so many holes in the blocks like the house is being used for firing practice? grin

On a serious note, you should have introduced columns when you have a single wall spanning more than 4 metres. I also hope you not planning to use 'parapet'.

Please what is wrong with using "PARAPET". what are the disadvantages?
