Other news:
Zamfara to play behind closed doors. . . fans issue

A certain club physio(can't remember which club now) has been suspended and fined N 100,000 for attempting to beat up a referee in its club's last match.
It was Kwara United's team doctor that was suspended for two matches and fined a N 100,000 for throwing water on the match referee, Paul Umuago, in its game against Heartland.
Zamfara United will play its next three matches behind closed doors(starting from last weekend) and Shooting Stars will also play its next two matches(starting from last weekend) behind closed doors.
Shooting Stars already lost its last home game to Rangers. . . Next time, they'll learn to behave themselves.

Na wa o! But can they hold on? It's just one point. . . Dolphins seem a bit tepid since the restart of the league after the break. If Dolphins get their mojo back, they'll blow all the other teams apart.
Meanwhile, Enyimba are 5th, 10 points off the pace. . . They're still very much in it.
Re: Nigerian League Fan Thread: Enter D Place N Know Every by DisGuy: 1:07pm On Jun 16, 2011
that one point na serious matter o!

Unfortunately we dont have a schedule list to work with, I think it mainly has to do with grabbing all 3 points at home and beating or gaining points away

do you have access to upcoming matches, though it is always changed for one reason or the other when i check kickoff

Kwara United does have one dude 'Barnabas Imienger' who looks decent and quite young too. Is he from that Academy? and why on earth isn't anyone profiling the guy?

Obuh and Eguavoen, I hope you are watching. . . Sone Aluko, Odion Ighalo and Danny Uchechi are NOT SE material and hence have no business in our youth teams!! angry

I just lost interest in our league since Owunmi was removed, Obaseki was sounding so sad and heartbroken when i listened to him today on radio, our league is a sham and nothing to write home about, the winning at home syndrome is coming back into the league and this is not good at all!!!

Ocean Boys banished, Chukwudi banned

Referee attacks have led to Ocean Boys been banished to Abuja and Sharks defender Fortune Chukwudi banned indefinitely by the NPL.

At the weekend, fans of Ocean Boys assaulted female assistant referee Grace Agodosi from Anambra State after their team forced visiting Kwara United to a 1-1 draw.

The fans apparently blame Agodosi for disallowing what they described as a good goal against Kwara United.

Match officials also reported that former Nigeria youth international Fortune Chukwudi attacked the referee during Sharks 1-0 loss at Enyimba in Aba.

“Ocean Boys have been banned to Abuja and Chukwudi banned until the NFF disciplinary committee meet,” NPL executive secretary, Tunji Babalola, informed MTNFootball.com.

“Fans and players cannot take the laws into their own hands and as such they have to face the music.”

Ocean Boys are hovering around the drop zone on 35 points from 29 matches, only five points of the relegation pack.

Sharks have hit a bad patch lately and are now eighth in the standings with 44 points.

Dolphins close gap on Sunshine

Dolphins have equalled Sunshine Stars on points at the summit of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) following a one-nil win over Kaduna United on Wednesday.

In their own rescheduled game at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, Sunshine Stars suffered their second heaviest defeat in this campaign.

Gombe United ran over the league leaders 3-0.

The win for Dolphins means they go on same 57 points with Sunshine Stars but the latter edge them on a healthy goals difference.

But Dolphins still have an outstanding game to play and a win would see them overtake Sunshine Stars by three points at the time.

Playing their home games at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt due to the ongoing National Sports Festival at the Liberation Stadium, Dolphins started brightly.

It took just seven minutes for the 2004 Nigerian champions to open score through Osita Echendu.

And the goal turned out to be the winner in a game that Dolphins lost too many scoring chances while Kaduna United nearly got on level terms at the death.

But Sunshine Stars were soundly beaten 0-3 in this rescheduled Week 26 game by Gombe United to stretch their losing streak at the ground of their hosts to three years.

The duo of Adamu Mohammed and Sanusi Sani got the goals for Gombe United.

Mohammed opened the floor for Gombe United's rout on the leaders on 43 minutes.

And 10 minutes into the restart, Sani got his first goal of the season.

Sani was on hand to poke home his second and Gombe United's third of the afternoon on 69 minutes to down Gbenga Ogunbote's men.

Gombe United are now on 38 minutes after playing 29 games.
