To even moot the idea of negotiating with boko haram is a subtle admission by Buhari that he is helpless and incapable of reigning in the insurgents. All the rhetorics about destroying boko haram within months was just mere posturing. Now faced with reality, the geriatic general has suddenly realised the enormity of the situation he is faced with. What would even be the grounds for amnesty? What would be the justification for such? So far Buhari has turned out to be a major dissappointment. Maybe the coming months might prove otherwise but so far no marks for mr President.

But during the various campaigns, the APC explicitly said: ''We shall defeat Boko Haram''...there was even a big a$$ billboard ad to that effect in my location.

Do they want to take the cowardly way out now?

It was clearly stated that BH will be crushed within a month.
