APC cant stop amusing me...

You spent money made by the previous government and you call it achievement!

Previously you claimed the treasure was virtually empty but now you have made it empty.

Hope you wont blame GEJ for this because you made it empty.

this Lai Muhammed is a VERY BIG LIAR! Which PDP state did GEJ government gave lifeline? What is there to celebrate when the government has successfully depleted our reserve to satisfy governors? How is "sharing" the money translate to achievement worth celebrating?

There was NO time the GEJ led government pay ANY PDP state money in the name of bailout. In fact, PDP state of Benue under the last administration was bastardly indebted. There is nothing to celebrate in this sharing of the money. The same governors that wasted N3trn ECA fund that was shared among them in frivolties, looting and white elephant projects between 2010 and 2014. The APC is very silly (with duee respect) for insulting our sensibilities by saying this is an achievement.

Am I missing something?
Workers should thank God their salaries were paid but was Buhari's govt not supposed to pay its workers?
Did they suddenly agree to work for free?
Are we supposed to thank our employers for paying our salaries?

In as much as i support d new government, it would be foolish to point at matters such as d payment of salaries to workers, as achievement. Infact, Lie lai mohamed is a stupid praise singer. Else, how can one of his pedegree single out d payment of salaries as a great achievement in a country as rich as Nigeria, when there are much more pressing matters begging for attention? Like u said, were they not working to be paid? That guy makes me angry i swear!

What they should be concerned about now is how to tackle d problem of insulgency in d north. I know is not easy, but with more commitment, things can turn around for good, not singing useless songs by foolish praise singers!

And again, i wonder how d damn state governments will be able to payoff their loans on d long run. Except something happen in d international market price of oil, i c little hope for financial recovery on d part of our economy. Nevertheless, Buhari must succeed, whether d devil likes it or not.

May God help us all!

The bailout been peddle about is a legitimate money to be shared among all the three tiers of government.

That Salary was outstanding from the era of a government that earned the highest revenue from its main source of income. The remediation of the insensitivity to the plight of workers who were owed salaries by a NEW GOVERNMENT Is what is now being applauded

How I wish OSUN workers were here to testify...

I have realise that some pipo criticize not because they want to Make a point But only to be relevant... pipo should beta start learning to call a spade a spade... Bail out good... boko bois bombing not good..

Were the worker working at the ECA company, why would he pay workers from the money that belongs to all? Worker should be paid from the output of their labours and not from our collective money, even VIOs and motor park touts are paid from it and my question is now, where are the monies generated by the sate and local govt go?

Buhari should have questioned the governors, or rather probe them instead of digging hand in the so called empty treasury to score a cheap point.

Meaning, Gabriel susan can enjoy his money while other governors that paid their workers end up regretting.

Wonders shall never end!

The main issue was that money was not paid that inaction has created prostitutes and thieves of children whose parents were not paid. Instead of the previous government paying attention to such matters of citizens welfare it was more concerned with getting their votes. Do a search on where the money was sources from. So shallow questions are not for the internet age.

Good. Do you know any of the persons whose salaries for six months were not paid? If you do you would understand that a previous governnment was callous.

APC again, these guys should stfu and just do what gullible Nigerians elected them to do. If only they know how many Nigerians are already regretting APC as their choice in the last election, then they will sit up and work. How can you claim bail out when majority of the govs spent their monies to have you elected in the first place?

ShoutNaija:
President Muhammadu Buhari, has yet again, proven that his election by Nigerians during the March 28 presidential poll was not a ‘fluke’.

This was the assertion of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who hailed Buhari for coming to the aid of the long-suffering Nigerian workers with a multi-billion-naira package that will not only ensure that all arrears of salaries owed by many states across the country are immediately paid, but will also make it easier for the states to meet their monthly salary obligations henceforth.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party’s national publicity secretary, stated in a statement issued Tuesday, July 7, that the president’s gesture has proven to Nigerians that he is indeed the father of the nation and an exemplary leader.

“We say this because when states were financially handicapped during the tenure of the last federal government, opposition states were hung out to dry while states belonging to the then ruling PDP got generous bailouts.

The PDP that spent the past 16 years plundering and pillaging Nigeria has boasted that the Nigerian people will soon come, cap in hand, to beg them to return to power. What delusion! What arrogance! Who presided over the looting and the mismanagement of public funds that made it impossible for the nation to absorb the shock of the falling oil prices?
“Who depleted the Excess Crude Account (ECA) without authorization? Who has degraded the standard of living of Nigerians?” the party queried via the statement isued in Abuja.

Buhari’s approval include: federal and state governments getting $1.7 billion out of the $2 billion remaining in the ECA; the sharing of about $2.1 billion sourced from the LNG’s payment to the Federation Account; and a CBN-packaged special intervention fund that will offer financing to the states, ranging between N250 billion to N300 billion, as a soft loan available to states to access for the purposes of paying backlog of salaries.

In addition, the president approved a debt relief programme that will help states restructure their commercial loans currently put at over N680 billion.
This implies that the life span of such loans will be extended, while reducing the states’ debt-servicing expenditures, thus leaving the states with enough resources (which otherwise would have been removed at source by the banks) to meet their monthly salary obligations, among others.
The statement therefore read further: “history is repeating itself before our very eyes. Some 31 years ago, Buhari, then as a military head of state, also inherited a huge national rot similar to what has been bequeathed to it by the NPN government and had to approve 480 million Naira for the payment of arrears of workers’ salaries. Truly, the President is a man of destiny.

“We thank Nigerians for voting the APC into power at the centre and for believing in us even when the horizon became hazy, not out of our making but because of the misdeeds of the past. By their relentless support for President Buhari and the APC, Nigerians have indeed demonstrated that what is worth fighting for is worth defending.”
In spite of all these, Nigerians are still unhappy with Buhari over his inability to stem the consistent attacks of islamic insurgents, Boko Haram, after their recent bombing left over 20 people dead in Zaria, Kaduna state.
