HopeAtHand:Are you implying that the rejection is as a result of something being wrong with the Igbo tag or simply because you have never been Igbo. You seem to be exposing yourself without knowing it. |

The issue here is simple. Sincerely we Igbos shouldn't bother ourself about anioma or whatever they call theirselves cos they add nothing to us or remove anything from us. I have Co-habited with them and I have stay in anioma land ad they call it and I can authoritatively tell u that even the name anioma is a fluke cos an ika man can nvr take an ukwuani man as his brother likewise the rest of them. They are just confused of their identity. It's better they don't claim igbo cos they brought the 1st misfortune to the Igbos. Igbos were doing extremely well before the so called aniomas did the 1st Nigerian coup. How I wished major general aguiyi Ironsi killed nzeogu and denied that they were Igbos maybe the whole of the so called animal land would hv been wiped out from Nigeria by the blood thirsty hausa soldiers cos it was even their son that killed the sarduna of sokoto and not an igbo man. |

My apologies to the true Igbos of delta state who don't deny the identity. It's absurd hearing some of them claiming that they have no historic link with Igbos as if the other rest of Igbos shares common history. I have travelled all the length and breath of Southeast and I can even say it was easy for me to understand ukwuani and ika language than understand ezza, nsukka, ngwa, arochukwu, npkollo, some deep imo languages etc. They don't even know that in ebonyi state close to obubra in cross river state, some Igbos there speak sometime very close to efik language and yet u never see them deny that they are Igbos. I don't want to talk much over this cos I see this their behaviour as an anomaly. We should ignore them and focus on how to develop our land to higher ground. Which we are currently doing. Moreover my girlfriends are all from anioma and they identify themselves as Igbos. 5 Likes |

pazienza: I quoted only you and got 4mentions..ive been reading every comment and my quoting you was because i like discussing with you. Im an Ikwerre guy who aside politics know deep down that Igbo is very close, both in culture (Ome n'ali) and language(Onu Ikwerre). And the study of language forms, patterns and structure, the study of ones culture, traditions and customs shows a close relationship Now, you are birthed by a man and he says to you, child you are Ikwerre, there are people called Igbos.Igbos are called Isoma in our language.they are not one of us..they are found in XYZ areas and we are found in ABC...You noticed the same sentiments are shared by ur Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, entire community..and a very very large section of ur Nationality..You grow with this awareness into adulthood. I'm asking what is the wrong with Igbo people that one cannot accept being them..or dont you think the Igbos are unnecessarily drawing attention to themselves by claiming a people who arent interested in being brothers.. Apologies to Op and anioma people for asking this on their thread. 1 Like 1 Share |

Anioma people were proudly Igbo when the going was good for the Igbo nation in Nigeria. They were Igbo culturally, politically as their leaders were among the fouding fathers of then powerful Igbo state union and they used their close relationship with Ndigbo to dominate newly created Midwest region. It was the same Anioma vagabond sons that brought calamity to the Igbo nation and made us to lose our enviable position in scheme of things in Nigeria and today those bastards won't let us rest with their noises of we are not Igbo. Let it be known that a friend or brother that denies you in time of trouble is not worth losing sleep for him,I mean they can go to hell for all I care.I will never waste my previous time to indulge in convincing one iddiot to accept being Igbo.so far they have brought nothing to Igbo nation than pain and war. As we are struggling to stand on our feet once again, one thing we do not need is distraction from ungrateful opportunist that can never be trusted. My apologies and sincere regards to HRH Obi of Asaba and other true sons of Anioma. |

^lol dont mind the anuofia. That a minute inherently foolish people chose to live with a thinking anomaly does not mean the 'whole' share their faulty thought process. I for one, am a proud Igbo girl from ogwashi-ukwu. I also know 1Naira6, ikechu1278, fr3do here on naira land to be proud igbos from Anioma. Please you people should not conclude erroneously because of a few efulefus from Anioma, cos even in SE there are people who behave like efulefus, how much more. |

Re: The Aniomas of Delta State by fr3do(m): 9:41pm On Jul 12, 2015 |
The Op like all my Anioma brothers and sisters claiming they are not Igbos are politically naive. These persons so as to avoid political persecution meted on anybody considered Igbo after the war (that our very own Nzeogwu could be said to have indirectly caused) chose to declare themselves non-igbo but this move hasn't given the expected outcome, as the Asagba of Asaba pointed out in a speech he made some time ago. For example, when Peter Odili who chooses to call himself a Rivers man wanted to run for president given the calls for a SS president, Chief Edwin Clark complained that Peter Odili is an Igbo man and a south south president must be a true 'south southerner'. This politically motivated 'Aniomas, Ikwerres, Ndonis e.t.c are not Igbos' mumbo jumbo is weakening we Igbos as a whole politically, making us prey to corrosive interests of more united rival ethnic groups. A nairalander wrote that as at the early 19th century, Ekiti people did not consider themselves Yoruba, but that has changed because it was politically convenient, the Kanuris and Hausa-fulanis also merged to this efficient political (but economically unviable) arrangement, North. HopeAtHand: Tell me what makes a man from present day Imo state Igbo and not you an Ikwerre man. People wrongfully use 'South east' interchangeably with 'Igbo'. The Ikwerre man is not from the South East. |
Re: The Aniomas of Delta State by fr3do(m): 9:57pm On Jul 12, 2015 |
Ojiofor: You are displaying the same divisive sentiments you condemn. Some Aniomas forsook the South East not Ndigbo. Do not limit Ndigbo to the South East geographical impression. |

belzabull: The OP bastard is nothing but a division agent. I just went through his post, the bastard lives in river state, also a lot of his post politics is on river state, never delta, in addition he opened this thread few years ago, note his choice of words "delta Igbo" https://www.nairaland.com/1218643/why-anioma-state-must-created#14654588 He is here talking about anioma are not Igbo. Don't mind the foolish op. He saw the increased unity between SE and anioma and he is here to do what they do best, create a division. I doubt he's even from anioma. 1 Like |

mactoni91: Give away. It's a well known fact the olukumis do not see themselves as Yoruba, they address their migration from there but never see or call themselves a yoruba. I know way too many people from there to count and till date, not one, emphasis on ONE have ever once called themselves Yoruba. In fact some took offense when I started calling them so as a joke. Out of all the celebrities we know from there, name one, just ONE, that claim there ethnic group is Yoruba. Name one A pathetic attache by force. If you are truly anioma, you would have known this. |
Re: The Aniomas of Delta State by ikechu1278: 10:27pm On Jul 12, 2015 |
Ojiofor: The amount of anioma deniers are in the minorities but of course, SE will try and magnify them just so una can have a reason to continue insulting anioma. Good for you people. Only God will judge una |

omololu2020: No you f2king don't. Stop with the attache by force. There are no Yoruba's in aniomaland. Olukumis migrated from Yoruba land but in this day of age they are not yoruba and would quickly and loudly tell you that if you address them as such. |

The anti Igbo comments is not as high as you call it but once again, you are SE Igbo. mangifying things so you can continue insulting anioma. Go f2king ahead and deny anioma. Who cares anymore.
