Something Better

There was a woman who had been diagnosed with cancer and had been given 3 months to live. Her doctor told her to start making preparations to die (something we all should be doing all of the time.) So she contacted her pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what she wanted to be wearing.

The woman also told her pastor that she wanted to be buried with her favorite Bible. Everything was in order and the pastor was preparing to leave when the woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. “There’s one more thing.” She said excitedly. “What’s that?” came the pastor’s reply.

“This is very important.” The woman continued. “I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.”

The pastor stood looking at the woman not knowing quite what to say.

“That shocks you doesn’t it?” The woman asked.

“Well to be honest, I’m puzzled by the request,” said the pastor.

The woman explained. “In all my years of attending church socials and functions where food was involved and let’s be honest, food is an important part of any church event; spiritual or otherwise); my favorite part was when whoever was clearing away the dishes of the main course would lean over and say ‘you can keep your fork.’ It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming. When they told me to keep my fork, I knew that something great was about to be given to me. It wasn’t Jell-O or pudding. It was cake or pie. Something with substance. So I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder ‘What’s with the fork?’ Then I want you to tell them: ‘Something better is coming so keep your fork too.'”

The pastor’s eyes were welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that that woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the woman’s casket and they saw the pretty dress she was wearing and her favorite bible and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over the pastor heard the question “What’s with the fork?”

And over and over he smiled. During his message, the pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. The pastor told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either. He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork, let it remind you oh so gently that there is something better coming.

A smile touched my lips – I knew it was true, my Father had always been there
Giving me comfort and blessings and love and my own special talents to share.
So I do my best to make Him proud. I am not afraid, for you see,
He loves me not for what I am, but for what He knows I will be.

A newly arrived soul in Heaven was met by St. Peter. The saint toured the soul around Heaven. Both of them walked side by side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

St. Peter stopped in front of the first section and said, “This is the Receiving Section. Here, all the petitions to God said in prayer are received”. The soul looked at the section, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets from all the people of the world.

They walked again until they reached the second section, and St. Peter told the soul, “This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are packed and delivered to the persons who asked for them down on earth.”

The soul saw how busy it was. There were so many angels working in that room, since so many blessing were being packed and delivered to Earth.

Finally, at the farthest corner of the room, the soul stopped at the last section. To the surprise of the soul, only one angel stayed there idly, doing nothing. “This is the Acknowledging Section,” St. Peter told the soul.

“How is it that, there is no work here?”

“That’s the sad thing,” St. Peter answered. “After the people received the blessings they asked for, very few send their acknowledgments”.

“How does one acknowledge God’s blessing?”

“Simple,” St. Peter answered. “Just say, “‘Thank you, Lord.'”

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep… you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace… you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness… you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death… you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married… you are very rare.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful… you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder… you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

How to Fix Your World

A pastor was struggling to prepare his sermon for the next day and didn’t want to be disturbed by his five year old daughter. So he removed a map of the world from his study, tore it into pieces and gave it to her to assemble with the promise that he would answer all her questions and play with her when she was done. He knew she would never be able to fix it.

To his amazement, in less than five minutes, she returned to him in his study with the map in perfect shape, every continent and every country in its place!

The surprised father asked, ”Honey, you don’t know anything about geography, so how did u fix the world so easily and quickly?”

The five-year-old girl smiled and replied sweetly, ”The picture of Jesus was at back of the map and I knew that if I have Jesus in the right place, the whole world would be in perfect shape!”

That was just the right inspiration the pastor needed for his sermon.

He thanked his daughter and prepared a powerful sermon on the subject Fix Your World by Placing Jesus at the Right Place.

Perhaps your life isn’t really in the shape you wish or as you had dreamt, just place Jesus in His rightful place and your world will be in order. I hope you understand this; give Jesus the right of place in your life, and everything else will fall into place.

The Carpenter’s House

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife, enjoying his extended family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. “This is your house,” he said, “my gift to you.”

What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says, “Life is a do-it-yourself project.” Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

Meditation: “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.” – Luke 19:42

The Power of Prayer

Creator God, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now Lord, show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.

Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy.

Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed confidence in Your ability to work through them.

Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, patience, and strength as they learn submission to Your leading.

Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You.

Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage.

Where there is a sin locking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friend’s life.

Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them.

Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it.

I ask You to do these things in Jesus’ name.

I went to Genesis hotels through Exodus road. On the way I saw Leviticus recording the Numbers of people at Deuteronomy, while Joshua was waiting at the Beautiful gate for Judges to see Ruth calling loudly "Samuel, Samuel". At a stage, the first and second Kings of Chronicles were coming to visit Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther for the misfortune of Job their brother. They started singing Psalms and teaching children Proverbs concerning Ecclesiates and Songs of Solomon. This coincided with the period that Isaiah was engaged in Jeremiah's Lamentations together with Ezekiel and Daniel their friend. By that time Amos and Obadiah were not around. Three days later, Hosea, Joel and Jonah traveled in the same ship with Micah and Nahum to Jerusalem. Habakkuk then visited Zephaniah who Introduced him to Haggai a friend of Zechariah whose cousin is Malachi. Immediately after the tradition, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John got involved in Acts of the Romans who were behaving like the 1st Corinthians group because the 2nd Corithians group were always in unity with the Galatians. At that time too, they realized that the Philippians were close to the Colossians, suggested the first Thessalonians visit and that on their second Thessalonians visit they should first of all see the first and second of Timothy brothers who had gone to the house of Titus to teach Philemon his younger brother how to read and write in Hebrew. On hearing this, James asked Peter twice to explain to him how the three Johns have disclosed to Jude the Revelations of this journey.

The GREAT physician.....

A woman had been terribly sick for 18years. Her case was so bad that she could not walk straight. She bent double, as if she carried a weight that was too much for her. Indeed, she carried a heavy weight of infirmity, she had lost all hope of ever getting healed.

One day, however, this sick woman met a man, and the man said to her. "Woman thou art loosed from thine infirmity". The man laid his hands on her and immediately the woman straightened up and became healed. (Lk. 13:11-13). The man that did it is called Jesus. He is the Son of God who came to this world in human form several years ago. He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil. (Acts 10:38). He was crucified and " Him God raised up the third day" (Acts 10:40). He is alive. He is the great physician. Today, He still does what he did for that woman several years ago. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:.

And yet there was another sick woman. She had been sick for 22years bleeding non-stop. She was considered an outcast, and was forced to wear black cloth all the time.
She was always smelling and nobody believed she could ever be healed. One day, however, she pressed through the crowd following a man of God, and touched the hem of the man's garment. Immediately, the blood which had been flowing ceaselessly for 12years stopped. The man she touched is Jesus. Jesus is the great physician (Mark 5:25-34).

There was also a man, Satan had pumped him full with evil spirits. He lived in the tombs, cutting himself with stones. If he was tied with chains, he brake them so simply as if they were wool. But one ray, this man with legion of evil spirits met with the great physician and regained his senses. (Mark 5:1-5).

The Jesus who did all the miracles you read about can do more even today. The Bible says when He died for you on the cross of Calvary, "the chastisement of our (your) peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we (you) were healed". You have already been healed from your sickness. Jesus already healed you when He died for you on the cross. All you need to do is claim your healing.

This same Jesus however says healing is the bread of the children. And that you do not give what belongs to children dogs. To receive the healing power of Jesus, you need to become God's child. You need to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. He stands at the door of your heart, and knocks now ( Rev. 3:20). Will you open to Him? If you do, He will come in and not only make you a child of God ( John 1:12) but also heal your body and deliver you from sickness and death.

Satan is the author of sickness. But the reason Jesus came to the world was to destroy Satan's work (1 John 3:. God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power, and He healed all that were sick (Acts 10:38). Enter into blessings today by receiving Him as your Lord and Saviour. Take the following steps immediately:
1. Acknowledge your sinfulness (Romans 3:23).
2. Repent of your sins and ask God's mercy (1John 1:9).
3. Ask Jesus to come inside your heart (Rev. 3:20).
4. Thank Him for saving you and promise to walk with him all the days of your life.

After taking the steps above sincerely, go ahead to pray that God will remove your sickness. He will sure do it. Continue to say to yourself, it is written " By His stripes I am healed". And you will experience God's touch on your body.

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was leaving the room after paying a visit, and said, “Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.”

Very quietly, the doctor said, “I don’t know.”

“You don’t know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?”

The doctor was holding the handle of the door, on the other side of which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said, “Did you notice that dog? He had never been in this room before. He did not know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened he sprang in without fear.

I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing: I know my Master is there, and that is enough. And when the door opens, I shall pass through with no fear, but with gladness.”

Directions to His House

Make a Right onto “Believeth Blvd.”

Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.

From there, you must turn onto the “Bridge of Faith,” which is over troubled water.

When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight.

You are on the “King’s Highway” – Heaven-bound.

Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost.

Then exit off onto “Grace Blvd.”

From there, make a Right turn on “Gospel Lane.”

Keep Straight and then make another Right on “Prayer Blvd.”
