 Barely 24 hours after the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Tukur Buratai, vowed to subdue Boko Haram in the Nort-East, the insurgents have attacked his village. The insurgents were said to have carried out the attack on Monday night, few hours after the army chief left Yobe State, where he had been since he assumed office. The attack, Daily Sun gathered, left no fewer than two people, including the suicide bomber dead and several others injured. The militants were also said to have burnt down 30 houses and destroyed property worth millions of niara before leaving the village. Military sources told Daily Sun yesterday night in Abuja that the insurgents also planted some Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Mirinda Express Road. Contacted, the acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, said: “I am not aware. I just read about it on one of the online papers. “It is not true because I have not received a situation report.” He, however, promised to get back to the media if the attack on the hometown of the COAS was confirmed. The army chief had, on Sunday, vowed to battle and subdue the insurgents in the North-East, assuring that they would no longer derail the wheel of peace in the zone and the entire country. This is the second time the insurgents would attack the hometown of the new army chief. Recall that the village was attacked sometime last year, during which his private residence was destroyed and one of the soldiers on duty in his house killed.

This is not true in anyway, however why haven't bokoharam done that for long? Need to wonder because Katsina is far north and a boarder town too. Bokoharam really need to touch DAURA village itself. |
