Anambra Refinery Targets 3,000 Barrels Of Oil Per Day, Plans Gas Plant- Thisday by AnamCity: 6:32am On Aug 04, 2015 |
The management of Anambra state owned Orient Petroleum Resources Plc yesterday said the company is targeting to increase its crude oil production to 3,000 barrels per day by September. Orient Petroleum Resources Plc was established by the Chinwoke Mbadinuju administration at Aguleri-Otu, Anambra East local government area of the state where a large volume of oil deposits was found. It was however commissioned officially in August of 2012 by former President Goodluck Jonathan. But the Managing Director of the oil company, Engr. Sunny Okoye told newsmen after a meeting of its Board of Directors and Governor Willie Obiano in Awka Monday that arrangements had been concluded with an indigenous company, Nails and Stanley ltd to establish a gas plant at Umueje in Ayamelum local government area and that the company had stepped up activities in two new oil wells in its Aguleri oil fields that would shore up the company’s production capacity to 3,000 bpd before the end of September this year. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anambra-refinery-targets-3-000-barrels-of-oil-per-day/216474/ 5 Likes 1 Share |

Anambrarians are really lucky to have a governor in the mould of Obiano, guy seems to be hitting the right notes. Unfortunately, ethnic and religious bigotry almost had them lynch him for telling the truth about Jonathan's plans to relocate Boko Haram prisoners to the state. I hope and pray this works for it would definitely have a remarkably positive impact on the local petromarket. Ps: Never knew Mbadinuju did anything besides Bakasi Boys. 4 Likes |

Have they settle the land dispute issue, anyway i wish anambra goodluck, am not from the state but the state and its people have helped in so many aspect of life. If oil is found in every corner of nigeria maybe by then the igbo, hausa and yoruba which are the acclaimed major ethnic gruop in nigeria we allow for true federalism and resource control in our nation. I pray oil should be found in the north and west. By then the true colour of we nigerians will be seen just as it was in early 60's before the oil boom. 1 Like |

I dont know why i keep having this feelings that Anambra state and the entire Eastern region is about bursting with economic development that will shock the draconian regime in Abuja to its nerves. I kinda feel ashame when i hear how state governors rush to Abuja for monthly allocations and then go back home to share it like a manner from heaven. Nigeria is desperately in need of true federalism or call it fiscal federalism but so sad that the man PMB lacks the political will to do such...my heart weeps for this country, agents of retrogression will always have their ways. Their spin doctors, janitors and propagandist from southwest will soon rush to this thread to bring their revisionist opinion. 6 Likes |
