TOPIC: THE GOOD SAMARITAN
READ LUKE 10:25-37
MEMORISE: And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' (Matthew 22:39)

Anyone involved in an accident honestly deserves and needs assistance, although the present-day security risks everywhere make people think otherwise in regards of this.
The first two categories of the people (a Priest and a Levite) who went past the bruised man in Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan stand for those acclaimed to be expectedly nearer to God. Surprisingly however, the one who show mercy and care is the Samaritan, which Jews traditionally see as a dog. Is it not saddening today that so many churches that are expected to be haven for the distressed, oppressed, obsessed, abandoned, poor, weak, widows, orphans, less-privileged, etc., have become dens of lions and thieves where the ills of the society are unmistakably manifesting? Imagine how brethren no longer care for one another (cf. Acts 2:42ff; 4:32ff). No wonder such churches are fast losing members to those of the world who are ready to give temporary succour to these ones as baits for full and final destruction in the enemy's camp.
In the society, there is the need for good Samaritans to salvage victims of natural disasters and diseases, accidents, insurgency, wars, etc. The attitudes of some of the law enforcement agents have not helped matters at all. How do you explain the case of an honest rescuer of accidents who ended up behind the bars as the prime suspect?
Such frightening trends are real, yet God expects us to play the role of Good Samaritans wherever He places us (cf. Prov 19:17; 21:13). Be at alert and apply godly wisdom, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, when occasions demand your help (Matt 5:7). Don't be accused of being callous like that priest and the Levite.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, help me to show mercy to the less privilege.
2. Lord, bless Your Church to be more loving and caring towards the needy in, and outside the fold.
3. Pray for Christians and charity organisations that God will support their works in great ways, glorifying His Name.

TOPIC: REASON FOR YOUR OFFICE
READ ESTHER 4:1-4
MEMORISE: For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14)

An office is a position of responsibility with commensurate authority within an organisation. It is a task that one is commissioned and feels obliged to do. Someone's office can be the area where he oversees or his territory.
In chapter four of the book of Esther, the Bible makes it clear to us that Haman plotted evil against the Jews to destroy Mordecai. Meanwhile, God had the plan to repay Haman for the evil he had planned against His people. However, God had it that this would have to happen through a prior-prepared vessel.
Queen Esther was divinely placed in that office (palace) in order to save the Jews from the plot of their enemy - Haman. Where ('office') has God placed you? Have you discovered the reason why you are there? God has placed you on that seat of authority in order to save lives, like Esther. May you not fail in doing this. May you not be accused of being busy enjoying only the benefits attached to the position.
The man who fails to fulfil the essence of his 'enthronement' in any position, eventually stands as the greatest loser. Deliverance or succour will surely come from somewhere else for the people of God. Then, God will call him to account for his failure in that office. May that not be your lot. But you must do the right thing that God has ordained you to do for Him.
Your office could be your school, church, place of work, society, neighbourhood, etc. Make the best use of it to positively affect lives for God. You will be glad you did.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, help me to discover why I am where I am now, and help me to make the best use of it to Your expectation.
2. Pray for the leaders of God's people throughout the world that God will help them to function effectively in their offices.
3. Pray for Nigeria that God will help our leaders to do the right thing at the right time.

TOPIC: TRUTH, THE CHRISTIAN TREASURE
READ PROVERBS 8:1-11
MEMORISE: Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding. (Prov 23:23)

Truth is anything that is real; something that remains constantly true regardless of the change of environment north, south, east and west. Treasure is any single thing that one values greatly.
The Word of God is the single thing that Christians should value greatly. Proverbs chapter 8 clearly shows wisdom as crying, and understanding, putting forth her voice, that Christians should embrace her. The truth of the Word of God is given to every child of God and we are to guide it jealously. We are talking of that same Word of God meant to reproof, correct, and instruct God's people (2 Tim 3:16-17). The truth is not meant for only reading and memorisation, but must be applied and lived out (James 1:22).
A lot of people in the Bible knew the truth but were deceived by Satan who stole it from them. Adam and Eve received the truth from God but were careless with it; the whole world is suffering the consequence of their foolish action. It will be a great disaster for any child of God who had known the truth (about holiness, marriage, relationship, prayer, personal devotion, heaven, etc.) to allow these slip away from him/her. Countless dangers are attached to losing the truth, e.g. becoming a slave to fake prophets, divorce, prayerlessness, etc.
Do everything within your power to hold on to the Truth of the Word of God. Read, study and live it. Forsake not the fellowship of God's people. Examine yourself always (2 Cor 13:5). You will be wonderfully liberated.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, please hold my hands, lest I fall.
2. Father, give Your church the grace to value Your Word and obey it.
3. Pray that the sinners will see the light of the truth of the gospel.

TOPIC: KEEPING THE LAWS OF GOD
READ ROMANS 2:1-13
MEMORISE: So when you, a mere man, pass judgement on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgement? (Rom 2:3-4)

God has given us His laws to keep and obey. He is no respecter of persons. He only honours and cherishes those who keep His laws. The Old Testament people were given laws, and Jesus Christ came not to condemn the Law but to perfect it (Matt 5:17).
The Jewish leaders were very familiar with the laws of God. However, most saddening is that they taught the law but they failed to keep it. They judged people who breached the law. They rested in the law and made their boast of the same God they were dishonouring. They were only hearers and teachers of the law, but not doers.
The verdict of God regarding them was that they would not escape His judgement. He would render to them according to their deeds.
As Christians, we are very fast at judging those we think are sinners. Don't we also indulge in such things that we condemn them for? Do we love God, and pray for our haters?
Those sins you see as too little or insignificant and are allowed to be part of your life will bring untold hardships NOW, and if you do not repent, they may lead to HELL. No matter who you are or your position in the house of God, God requires total obedience to His Word and not partial obedience, which is tantamount to disobedience. He requires purity of heart (Psalm 1:1-6). Examine your life.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, create in me a new heart that will help me to obey You completely.
2. Father, please expose all the works of the flesh that are raising their ugly heads in Your Church.
3. Pray for revival in your church, the one that will destroy the works of the flesh.

TOPIC: WHEN IT IS WISE TO HIDE
READ 1 SAMUEL 20:24-34
MEMORISE: So David hid in the field, and when the New Moon festival came, the king sat down to eat. (1 Sam 20:24)

Is it not foolish and presumptuous for us to face danger headlong when we can do something to avert it? David acted wisely according to our text today. It had been very clear to him that his life was no longer safe with King Saul. He had seen clear signs to confirm his fear. His friend and confidant, Jonathan, had spotted the hostility of his father (Saul), thus was unmistakably revealed later. David opted to stay away with the support of Jonathan his friend. Saul's godless reaction at David's absence and his attempt on Jonathan's life were confirmation of Saul's intent for David.
It would have been foolish to think that since God had chosen him to be king, then God would have certainly presented Saul from killing him. We must be wise. He did what was right for him to do at that time, which was to run away and hide from the ex-anointed king.
We need to learn from David. God's promises of protection, guidance and deliverance are not to make us become foolish and presumptuous. They are not to make us neglect our responsibilities of being security-conscious, though we are not to be suspicious in our living. There are certain things God would not do for us, but He had endowed us with His wisdom to act WISELY and TIMELY.
Don't miss the point. God's Word is sure. He will protect us from evil. But then, we don't have to cast ourselves down from the pinnacle of the temple all because He has given His angels charge over us. Therefore, your safety is an important part of your personal responsibility. Be neither negligent nor ignorant. Remember Mary and Joseph (Matt 2:20-23).

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord God, protect me from all evil.
2. Oh Lord God, help and guide our leaders on the security of this country.
3. Lord God protect and fight for Your church in this country.

TOPIC: WARNING FROM ISRAEL'S HISTORY
READ 1 CORINTHIANS 10:1-12
MEMORISE: These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfilment of the ages has come. (1 Cor 10:11)

The passage for today is a sober reflection on the wilderness experience of the children of Israel on their way to Canaan. It reviews the pathetic backsliding of the chosen race into common sin, idolatry and perverted cultures of heathen nations. Miracles of provisions, protection and divine presence were a common experience with Israel. Strangely, they easily slid back into idolatry, sexual immorality, murmuring calamity, revelry, evil desires and pleasure seeking. Many of them died summarily in the wilderness.
Israel's experience is a lesson and warning for present day believers. How? We are in the wilderness of the world. We are men and women of destinies being prepared for a permanent inheritance (1 Pet 1:4-7). Remember, we would face tough and turbulent experiences of faith. Yet, His leadership, provisions, protection, presence are certain. Do we know and believe these?
Disobedience to God's Word creates chance for Satan to gain an in-road into man's life. Many believers give way to temptation as if it were impossible for them to resist it. If we cannot control ourselves and overcome those things that destroy unbelievers and make them miserable, haven't we then received the grace of God in vain?
Things doubtful and tempting must not be toyed with; flee every appearance of evil to avoid a sorrowful end like that of the Israelites who disobeyed in the wilderness, despite the MIRACLES. Be warned.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord God, let your fire purge me of all evil addictions, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord God, purge all our youth of all evil of addictions that plagued their lives.
3. Oh Lord, let Your fire permeate all our Sunday services for salvation and its attendant blessings.

TOPIC: THE LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING
READ GALATIANS 6:7-10
MEMORISE: Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. (Gal 6:7)

This natural law of sowing and reaping cuts across religions, tribes and races. A man reaps what he sows. However, a category of people want to reap without sowing. They can best be described as thieves. It is very wrong to expect a harvest when you have not sown. Make efforts to sow into a particular area of life where you desire harvest.
Entering into your financial breakthrough may not come easily. You have to provoke heaven to act on your behalf by sowing. No one is so poor that he/she cannot have anything to sow. If you check yourself very well, you will realise that there is a seed in your hand that you can sow.
The Church in Macedonia had so little, yet, they were committed to giving to the work of God (2 Cor 8:1-2). If you want to be blessed, fasting and prayer, as indispensable as they are, are not the only way to blessing. You need to sow your seed for it to be watered with your prayers. Read Luke 6:38 and obey it in full. Pay your tithe, increase your offering, be more available (TIME) for godly services, and be obedient in giving for God's project in your church.
Doing these will transform your life tremendously.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, help me to do the right thing at the right time.
2. Pray that God should give the spirit of obedience to all HIS children.
3. Pray that God should help us to overcome the spirit of arrogance and stubbornness.

TOPIC: THE LAST WORD

READ JOHN 16:16-24
MEMORISE: So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. (John 16:22)

On his sick bed on June 22, 1914, here are the last words of Matthew Henry: "A life spent in the service of God and communion with Him is the most comfortable and pleasant life that anyone can live in this present world". Matthew Henry is gone, but his life is a light and comfort to every generation of believers.
In our text today, it was Jesus' valedictory message to His disciples, which thereafter granted them opportunity to ask questions quickly before His departure. The disciples could not imagine how Jesus would leave them so soon. The perplexity of the disciples was apparent (vv. 17, 18). They were in the dark because their wrong notion of Christ's secular kingdom was deeply rooted in them, controlling their minds and actions (cf. Acts 1:1-cool. Jesus' consoling words to them that He would see them again eventually happened. He resurrected and they saw Him again.
Matthew Henry died and has gone to eternity forever. Jesus died, but resurrected as the Living One. His words are far weightier than all others are. How do you take those words of His? Those who stubbornly reject His Word on salvation and holy living will mourn eternally. May that not be your lot. What is your answer to the question in Zech 1:4-6?
The promise of Christ's return is imminent and those who wait for Him with spiritual preparation will rejoice with Him eternally.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord God, let Your spirit create a new awakening of the second coming of Christ in our Churches.
2. Lord my God, prepare me spiritually for Your second coming.
3. Lord God, may I not be found wanting at your second coming.

IT'LL GET BETTER

READ EXODUS 15:22-27

MEMORISE: Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water. (Exodus 15:27)

In the context of today's text, the newly liberated nation of Israel was on her way from Egypt to the promised Land, but it was proving to be a difficult journey. According to our text, things were like getting worse. A major challenge was finding drinkable water in a desert like that. When they came to the waters of Marah, the people could not drink it because it was bitter. These made some of them to murmur against Moses.
By divine direction, Moses cast a tree into the water and healed the water. After this came the Elim experience, when Moses led them there, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees to shield them against the scorching sun. What a caring God we serve! This was a dramatic change in their circumstances.

We feel disappointed and discouraged when life's broad high way suddenly turns out into a strong pathway. All of us, one way or another will come to our own particular Marah at different times. We may grumble like the Israelites against our circumstance, but really, that wouldn't change things any faster. The only way out is to remember God for His presence, timely intervention, inexhaustible provisions and non-negotiable protection and then our responsibilities of PRAYING in faith and WAITING in confidence.
Are you ready to commit your burden to the only One whose shoulders are more than able to carry it for you? (Heb 10:36)

PRAYER POINTS
1. LORD God, let Your will be done always in my life.
2. Lord, help all your children that are passing through difficult times to endure and wait for Your will in their lives.
3. Oh Lord my God, let Your will reign supreme in our country and the Church.

TOPIC: GREAT LESSONS FROM NINEVEH
READ NAHUM 3:7-19
MEMORISE: All who see you will flee from you and say, 'Nineveh is in ruins - who will mourn for her?' Where can I find anyone to comfort you?" (Nah 3:7)

Nineveh fell in the year 612 B.C. and was never rebuilt. Before then, the Prophet Nahum had predicted its destruction that it would be so serious that the territory would become desolate. The walls of Nineveh, her great army, and all her generals would not be able to save the wicked city. The Lord would uncover her shame and make her a naked spectacle before all the people of the world. The city that once repented in sackcloth and ashes in Jonah's days, later revelled in her sins and met the full dose of God's judgement. God gave them their chance, but they blew it.
While Nahum's message was primarily directed against Nineveh, there was a word of warning here for Judah as well. Although God is slow to anger, his wrath would eventually have to come down upon Judah as well for their sins. Nineveh returned to the sins they repented of in response to the preaching of Jonah. Thus, one hundred and fifty years later, God's judgement came and Nineveh was destroyed.
Every evildoer and sinner should read Nahum and be admonished. The Lord is merciful and slow to anger, yet the Day of Judgement will finally come, and it is certain that the unrighteous will not escape God's righteous judgement.
Implication: Don't hesitate; give your life to Jesus now!

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to learn the right lessons from the strength and weaknesses of the people in the past, both in the Bible and the world.
2. Lord, let revival of salvation be the regularly experience in our churches.
3. Lord be merciful unto us in our nation and give us leaders that fear and tremble at Your word.

GOD’S WILL OR YOUR WILL?
READ: PSALM 95:6-11
MEMORISE: Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart. (Psalm 95:cool
Faithlessness, stubbornness and short-sightedness often make God’s will unpleasant for us. Our ways seem better and wiser than God’s will. That is the disposition of the natural man. When that happens, needless pain, frustration and untold unrest become unavoidable
A fine Christian lady desired to know God’s will on whom to marry. After much prayer, she was sure God wanted her to marry a cripple who was also a Christian. “God, why a cripple? She protested. She made every human effort to bend God’s will. During this time, she suffered disappointment in the hands of so-called ‘presentable’ men. Eventually, she surrendered to God’s will, and she had the peace of God.
Today’s text establishes why we should never harden our hearts against God’s will. God, our maker, has every detail of our lives. The designer of a product has the best guide for its operation and use. Thus, only God knows what suits you best (line 6). He is our God; He has the final say over our decisions (line 7a); we are His people, not His enemies. Hence, he wishes us the best always (line 7b). Therefore, trust Him with absolute trust. He cares for you.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord God, I surrender totally to Your will for my life, in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord God, help all our singles to always surrender to Your will alone.
3. Have mercy, O Lord, on all our youths, so as to honestly pray for Your will (on all matters) and to humbly wait to accept it when it eventually comes.

TOPIC: HELP THE WORLD KNOW HIM
READ MARK 6:53-56
MEMORISE: As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognised Jesus. (Mark 6:54)

Many people are suffering much today because they have failed to recognise the only One who holds the solution key to the problems of the world. Consequently, there are so much pain, sickness, oppression, poverty, deaths, etc. everywhere. Peace has continually eluded the world and families go through so much heartbreaks and pains all because they failed to truly recognise who Jesus is.
As soon as Jesus stepped out of the ship in our text, the people in Gennesaret knew him. Immediately, they ran to Him bringing all their sufferings. Obviously, they must have heard of who Jesus is. Someone must have told them of the great things He could do (cf. Rom 10:13ff). They had no problem recognising Him because those who had received miracles before shared their testimonies.
As believers, we have the duty to make the world know who Jesus is. Many mistake Him for just a religious founder and leader, a great teacher, a good man, but do not know Him as the only Saviour approved of God to bring salvation to the world. Our simple testimonies of the great things He has done for us, our witnessing of who He is and our demonstration of His love in the world can help the world come to know Him and His will be the greatest good we can do for our world. The world would be a better place if they know who Jesus is. Go out today and share your testimonies (Jn 4:28-30, 39-42).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to make You known to my world.
2. Lord, confirm Your words as it is humbly and passionately preached all over the world.
3. Lord, encourage all Christian missionaries all over the world, and provoke the Church to be more committed to helping and supporting them.

TOPIC: PRAYER OF AGREEMENT AT HOME
READ GENESIS 25:12-26
MEMORISE: Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, his wife Rebekah became pregnant. The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, "Why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD. (Gen 25:21)

The family is one. Nothing should separate it. The problems of many families today is that husband and wife go on their separate ways though, still living together under the same roof. They fail to face their challenges collectively.
Our text above shows the type of commitment Isaac had to the success of his family. He identified with Rebecca who was barren for about twenty years after their marriage. Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebecca. They had their first issue when Isaac was sixty years old. It is interesting to note that this family stayed together in affection, unity and prayer while their challenges lasted. Unlike many families today, there was no blame game or fault-finding between Isaac and Rebecca. They faced their challenges together and overcame together.
Strong and cohesive Christ-based families stay together, irrespective of their challenges. They are committed to staying together in prayer and in commitment to the success of the union (Matt 18:9).
How committed are you to the home the Lord has given you? Remember how Zechariah and Elizabeth made their work. Challenges in the home should not lead to crisis. Instead, it should make couples more courageous and consecrated to the Lord, as well as more committed to themselves. God respects and rewards prayers done in unity.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Pray for families around you that are facing challenges. Ask God to intervene on their behalf.
2. Let every family member pray for one another in agreement over specific and general matters.
3. Lord, by Your mercy, open the womb of every sincere child of God looking for the fruit of the womb.

READ 1 SAMUEL 3:1-11
MEMORISE: The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. (1 Sam 3:1a)
As far as God is concerned, age is not a barrier when He needs an instrument of valour. No matter the complaints, God will not take any excuse from you when He wants to use you or any of your children.
Samuel was a boy when God started using him. A dried fish cannot be bent any longer. It has assumed its permanent position. It will only be broken into pieces if one tries bending it in its dry state. God has destined everyone for positive purposes in life. One of such purposes is to be useful to and for Him. In the vineyard of God, there are many works for both the young and the old. God is interested in using you when you are young. There are many spiritual gifts in His store to pour on you as a youth. And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, ... your young men will see visions, promised the LORD (Joel 2:28).
Daniel was a youth who knew his God and did exploits, even in the strange land. As a youth, God sees you as His battle-axe. The more you cooperate with Him, the more He uses you mightily to His glory and to your blessing. Endeavour, therefore, do not only be youthful, but also useful in His purpose and programme. Never be youthful and useless.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord Jesus, help me to do exploits for you in my generation as a youth.
2. Holy Spirit, I open my heart unto You, fill me and let your gifts operate in me to do supernatural exploits in your vineyard.
3. My children shall never be instruments of the devil in any way. Instead, they shall serve the Lord with all their strength from their youth.

Certain words, due to their misconstrued meanings make them complex to be truly understood by people. Holiness is not alien to the Church, because it is expected to be part and parcel of her. God's nature is holiness, and this, He, at Adam's creation, imputed, being His image personified (Gen 1:26). Man at the beginning was not found short of this attribute. However, at man's fall, holiness became an issue man finds difficult, even till date, to imbibe and practice.
Man, as God's image, should have the inmate and generic holiness, had it not been the devil's manipulation (Gen 3:1ff). The simple definition for "Holiness" is total obedience to all the commandments of God. Pass in all, but failure in one of these is still tantamount to disobedience, never condoned by God (Matt 5:48). In the word, "Holiness", we have humility (Jas 4:6), obedience (Deut 28:1), love (1 Cor 13:1-4), integrity (1 Cor 8:9), new nature (2 Cor 5:17), endurance (Gal 5:22), separation (2 Cor 6:14), self-denial (Luke 9:57-62), and all other virtues that all point to obedience to God.
Holiness, which is the same as purity of body and heart, is neither difficult nor complicated. It is simply doing all the dos of God and avoiding His don'ts. It is not the exclusive doctrine of any particular religion or denomination; it is the Bible (Heb 12:14).
What has been your disposition towards holy living? Practice holiness in all things, all ways. You can't beat the heavenly blessings that will attend your ways (Deut 28:1-13). This is the only way to see God.

PRAYER POINTS
1. I receive God's grace to live holy in all my ways, in Jesus' name.
2. The corruption of this world shall not destroy me, in Jesus' name.
3. Lord, entrench the culture of holiness in our school systems, by Your power, in Jesus' name.

WALK YOUR TALK
READ MATTHEW 5:33-37
MEMORISE: Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes', and your 'No', 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matt 5:37)

It is one of the legal prerequisites for any witness or accused person in the law court to swear an oath that all he/she shall say shall be nothing but the truth, and the whole truth. Political office holders also take the oath of office using the Holy Bible or the Qur'an, depending on their different religious inclinations. However, it is obvious that, the opposite has bedevilled several people, even those who have sworn by heaven and earth! (Matt 5:34).

Christians are not to swear by either heaven or earth (Matt 5:33). You can pledge, affirm or vow, but should not deviate from such (Matt 5:37). The major problem man has is lack of faithfulness to his word. The day we start to make our words our bounds, the end of our economic, political, marital and even spiritual woes is just around the corner (Eccl 5:4-6). So many people have failed to walk their talks.

Starting with minor matters, do you fulfill your promises? Do you meet appointments as at when due? Are you not an advocate of the killer 'African Time'? Can you be taken for your words? He whose 'Yes' isn't yes and 'No' isn't no, can't experience real progress (cf. Deut 21:21-23). Cooperate with the Holy Spirit to live a life of integrity - walking as you talk, living what you preach/teach.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, make me a man/woman of my words.
2. Lord, help me to make integrity, straightforwardness, truthfulness, and faithfulness my hallmark in all things.
3. Lord, help parents, Church leaders as well as community/political leaders to be people of their words, so that our society will be conducive to peace and progress.

TOPIC: MENTAL HANDICAP
READ ACTS 3:1-10
MEMORISE: So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. (Acts 3:5)

On the streets, if you are to look for the handicapped, without any stress, you can point to the deaf, dumb, crippled, blind and other persons with physical infirmities. These are the physically challenged who are in a way or the other dependent on other people. However, there are physically incapacitated people who are yet mentally active and productive, doing exploits in their chosen professions than some able-bodied persons! Being dwarfed in thought and action is tantamount to being a mental handicap, which is more serious than the physical one. The mentally incapacitated, though physically able-bodied, lack the ability to think very well, because they are obviously dispossessed of the capacity to see beyond their present situations. This is pathetically characteristic of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate.
It was said of two men who were employed together in the same shoe factory, that one of them was sent to a village and on getting there, he discovered that wearing shoes was a taboo in the land. The man sent to the company, "Please, transfer me elsewhere; they don't wear shoes here!"
The other was sent to the same village, and when he got there, he started wearing the shoes and counselling them on the benefits. Gradually, they started demanding shoes, and in no time, he exhausted his stock! He sent to the factory, "Please send me more shoes; they don't wear shoes here and they need them!" The man later became a world-recognised figure in shoe making. The difference was mentality (attitude).
Do you have God-given vision? Free your mind from mental incapacitation now, by God's power.

PRAYER POINTS
1. I free myself from every form of mental incapacitation, in Jesus' name.
2. Let the disease of spiritual short-sightedness leave me alone, now, in Jesus' name.
3. Pray against every device of the devil to make our children and youths instruments of corruption in this generation.

TOPIC: CUSTOMERS, CONGREGATION OR CONVERTS?
READ MATTHEW 28:16-20
MEMORISE: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... (Matt 28:19a)

Carefully studying churches today, reveal, that churches have about 3 categories of people. The group in the majority largely determines the health or otherwise of the church.
The first group are customers who only come to church for what they can get - blessing, healing, miracles, signs and wonders. They jump from churches to churches, mountains to mountains in search of spiritual 'consultants' and 'contractors' to help them reach the God they see as a father-Christmas. They are seldom born again.
The second category are the congregation who are nothing but regular and nominal church members. They might have been in church for a long time, but are not in Christ. They seem more faithful to the church and their leaders than to Christ. It is possible to be a committed church member without knowing the Lord of the Church. Judas, Ananias, Sapphira and Simon, the sorcerer are examples. These must become converts, which is only through faith in God through Jesus Christ and genuine repentance.
The third category are the converts who have personally encountered Christ, truly repented of their sins, have experienced and continually experience true inner transformation, having moved from darkness to the Light of Christ (1 Cor 5:17; 6:9-11). This is the type of Christians (disciples) that Christ calls us to build for Him (Matt 28:18ff).
Our churches will become better if we regularly evaluate ourselves as to the category that is dominant among us. A church dominated by influx of customers than converts is not a healthy one and may soon fizzle out. Are you a true convert? Make converts and disciples for Christ. Your reward will be great.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord Jesus, I refuse to be a mere customer in Your Church. Help me to follow You wholly.
2. Pray that the Lord should help church leaders to prioritise sound teaching of the gospel of holiness in every assembly.
3. Ask God to silence so-called preachers who lower the gospel standard.

TOPIC: ESCHEW HATRED!
READ ESTHER 3:1-15

MEMORISE: When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down to pay him honour, he was enraged. (Esther 3:5)

One of the vices some people find very difficult to deal or do away with is hatred. It is a very strong dislike for somebody/thing, or an angry feeling of extreme dislike for someone/thing. Our present socio-political institution is characteristically dominated and terribly bedevilled with hate messages, which have often led to violent crimes. The moment 'A' sees that 'B' is becoming more successful, hatred for that fellow and his/her achievement ensues (cf. Gen 4:5; Gal 5:19ff).
However, it should be very strange, bewildering and uncharacteristic if Christians also engage in such (Rom 12:9-21). Saul, Israel premier Monarch, rose from grass to grace, and later, sadly though, from grace to grass, due to jealousy, envy and hatred (1 Sam 18:8-12). He hated and was jealous of David for the latter's success! Haman was the architect of his own fall. Had this man heeded the God-sent warnings (Est 13:13), he wouldn't have ended badly (Est 7:10). He passionately hated the poor Jewish exile, Mordecai, for no just cause (Est 3:5). His own trap eventually caught him.
This is what befalls haters. Sometimes, they develop terrible health problems (ulcer, cancer, neurosis, etc.) (1 Jn 3:15). Avoid these by shunning hatred and developing a large heart. Avoid hatred to avert disaster. Don't nurse animosity against anyone for any reasons (Rom 12:21). Love all (Psalm 37:27). It is difficult but possible.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Spirit of bitter jealousy, envy and hatred, get out of me now, in Jesus' name.
2. I refuse to be envious of anyone's success or rising profile any longer, in Jesus' name.
3. Pray against the spirit of hatred bedevilling the political class and resulting in high crime rate.

TOPIC: THE COSTLY GAME

READ GENESIS 25:27-34

MEMORISE: "Look, I am about to die," Esau said, "What good is the birthright to me?" (Gen 25:32)

Many of us believe that games are merely meant for pleasure, catching fun or general relaxation. However, current events have changed that notion. Games, indoor or outdoor, are now sources of livelihood and lucrative economy in countries of the world. Metaphorically, we say somebody is playing game when he or she pretends to be what he/she is not! Paul warned the Galatians: if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself (Gal 6:3).
It may be feasible to play games on man's intelligence, but no one can do that with God, Who will always reveal everyone's true identity, because He is no respecter of persons. Many play games with their salvation. They profess and confess but they never possess (Matt 7:21-23). That will be a costly game at the day of reckoning! (zeph 1:7).
Esau, in our text today, teaches us not play games with weighty and serious matters. He was unmindful; he thought it was all a joke to sell his birthright, most especially, as he considered the temporarily biting hunger; but he missed it. Unfortunately, he later sought it with tears but couldn't get it back! (Heb 12:16-18).
Dear devout, don't play such a costly game in salvation, marriage, career, job, opportunities, ministry, etc. Nothing can be comparable in replacement if one loses God's best for his/her life (Lk 9:25). Don't play costly games with the devil. He knows how to manoeuvre; don't play into his hands. Beware!

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, take my eyes off every game I am playing that can finish my destiny abruptly.
2. I check out of every ungodly relationship that can waste my destiny, in Jesus' name.
3. Pray for our youths, that God will deliver them from unwholesome associations that can waste their God-given destinies.

TOPIC: TRUE LIBERTY
READ JOHN 8:24-38

MEMORISE: Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:32)

He who has never been a victim of slavery, bondage or imprisonment, either literally or spiritually, might not fully feel the joy of being unconditionally released from prison or detention property. People only come to value something after they have lost it. Nigerian historic leaders fought tooth and nail to ensure Nigeria attained an independent status in 1960. Here we are today, a Federal Republic. Only little can be said to recall and recount the travails, abuses, afflictions and depravity unleashed on Nigerians by the colonial masters.
Spiritually enslaved ones undergo worse things. To be spiritually bound is worse than being physically chained. The devil, the task and slave-master, controls the lives of those who have not identified with Christ to enjoy true liberty. It is also surprising that one can be in total bondage, but be claiming to be free! This was the position of the Pharisees and other Jewish religious leaders of Jesus' days, claiming Abrahamic heredity (John 8:36). They were actually ignorant of the fact that anyone who commits sin is under the bondage of sin, being controlled and manipulated by Satan (1 John 3:3-10).
However, the liberty given to us in Christ is neither a license nor freedom to indulge in unrighteousness in any form. Doing otherwise is returning to slavery (Rom 6:16)!
Are you truly in Christ? Do you truly know Christ? If yes, you have been set free by the Son of God. True liberty exists only in the Son of God; align with Him now!

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to fully appreciate and appropriate the liberty You have provided in Christ for me.
2. O Lord, help me not to joke with or lose my liberty in You.
3. Oh Lord, let Your Spirit of holiness and faithfulness always moderate the desires and ambitions of our leaders in the Church and government.

TOPIC: STABILITY IN ADVERSITY
READ 2 KINGS 4:8-27

MEMORISE: Run to meet her and ask her, 'Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is your child all right? "Everything is all right," she said. (2 Kings 4:25)

Most times, a real man is known during crises or challenges of life. Someone says, 'He who has never experienced fierce battle of life, calls himself a man.' The Christian is expected to hold his head high in crises/challenges. Everyone is saddled with his or her own fair share of life's burdens, problems and uncertainties.
God expects His children to remain calm and immovable in the face of fiercest situations. The life of the Bible character in today's text remains a positive challenge to every devout facing one challenge or the other. God rewarded the kind-hearted Shunamite woman for her generosity to Elisha the prophet of God. One good turn deserves another.
Later, the boy God gave her , fell sick and died unexpectedl. Yet, the woman remained unperturbed, maintaining her stability in the face of such a painful situation. How do you feel on hearing that she responded, Everything is all right, despite that she had the dead child laid at home? What a challenge!
What are you going through - difficulties in getting job or life partner, problematic home, paucity of fund, bereavements, desertion, depression...? Just take courage. Maintain your doggedness, forthrightness and determination in Christ, despite the problem's fierceness. Take them to the Lord in prayer, and leave them there (Psalm 55:22). Only then can you be stable (Jude 20).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to hold my peace, no matter the situation in my life.
2. I declare: It is well with my soul in all situations, in Jesus' name.
3. Lord, give brethren being severely persecuted all over the world the courage to stand in, with and for You to the end.

TOPIC: YOU BEGIN, OTHERS FINISH
READ 1 KINGS 19:9-18

MEMORISE: I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. (Matt 3:11)

The best any of us can do in this world is but a fragment. The old prophet Elijah thought his work had failed because Baalism was not yet entirely destroyed. Then, he was told of three other men, who would come after him - two kings and then another prophet, who each in turn, would do his part, when at last the destruction of the great alien idolatry - would be complete. Elijah's faithfulness had not failed, but his achievement was only a fragment of the whole work.
We are not responsible for finishing everything we begin. It may be our part only to begin it; carrying on and finishing of it may be the work of others. They may be those we know or do not know, and perhaps others yet unborn. We all enter into the work of those who have gone before us, and others who come after us in turn enter into our works. Our duty simply is, to do well and faithfully, our own little parts.
Why fret over what you cannot do when that which we do will occupy all your time. What you cannot do is not your responsibility. It belongs to some other workers, waiting even now, perhaps, in some obscure place, who at the right moment will come forth with new zeal and dedicated skill, anointed for His task.
Do your God-given part faithfully. And when the successor comes, be careful not to be envious for any reasons. Your reward shall be great.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to be faithful and committed in the work you assigned to me.
2. Lord, help our leaders to know that they may not be able to do all things, but trust You to ordain successors to continue the work.
3. Lord, help our political leaders to work faithfully for the over-all success of our nation.

TOPIC: WHAT IS A FRIEND?
READ PROVERBS 17:17

MEMORISE: A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity. (Prov 17:17)

A group of friends gathered for a time of social fellowship. The conversation drifted to the subject of friendship, and an athlete said, "In my opinion, a friend is a balancing pole that enables us to walk the tight-rope of life without falling." A physician said, "I believe a friend may be likened to a soft bandage and a soothing ointment for the cuts and bruises of life."
To a botanist, it seemed that, "A friend is a vine that clings to us and hides the discrepancies and rough places of life," to which a florist added: "Yes, and the greater the ruin, the closer a friend clings." "A friend is a golden link in the chain of life," said a jeweller. A mourning woman responded, "A friend is one who comes in when the whole world goes out."
The best friend of all, said a white-haired octogenarian man, "is Jesus, who said, Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends." A friend is one who knows all about you and loves you all the same. You cannot buy a friend. Friends are God-given, and their friendship lasts through to eternity.
Who is your friend? What type of friend are you? Do these true descriptions of a friend describe you? You can't be the godly friend everyone wants to be around, if you have not accepted and taken in the Best Friend of man, Jesus (Jn 15:9-16). Befriend Jesus ALWAYS. Only then will you have godly friends (God's children) around you, since like begets like, and your life will be better for it. Beware of bad associations (1 Cor 15:33).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord Jesus, I commit to be Your friend for ever, because You have paid for my friendship.
2. Lord, detach our young ones from ungodly friends, evil communications that can destroy them.
3. Lord, help Christians all over the world to live as true friends of Yours.

TOPIC: LIFE'S INTERRUPTIONS
READ PROVERBS 16:1-10

MEMORISE: In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. (Prov 16:9)

Being organised is a virtue. It is great to have a plan for your day, week or month. It is often advised at the beginning of the year to have a carefully laid out schedule with timeline of what you want to achieve, and when, so that you don't run out of steam midway. Rolling plans, long-term, medium-term and short-term plans, just to ensure life runs smoothly. Priorities prayerfully, wisely and well outlined, ensuring nothing is missed, does not guarantee that there would be no disruptions.
Life in itself can be disorderly with nothing going according to plan. Just when you thought your plans were going well, a child falls ill and changes your routine completely. May be it is your spouse that needs an extra minute of your time and that was not in the calendar. Or, the Church fixes a programme that you hadn't thought of before. Suddenly, everything comes crashing like a pack of cards.
The plan in the hearts of man are many, but the Lord's casual prevails (Prov 19:21). This is not to stay that we should not make plans, but we need to be open to divine instruction at all times. As we plan for the day, we are open to the Lord's direction in order to fulfil His will at every point in time.
When you have made up your plans and strategies only to discover that there are interjections, interruptions and interventions. What do you do? Just set your eyes on the Lord, not only in the great events of life, but also in the little ones. See every disruption in your daily routine or activity as the Lord actually saying something to your heart about His way and work. Life's interruption from God is good for your life.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to be open to Your will and purpose at every point in time.
2. Lord, forgive our religious and political leaders for not putting Your will into consideration when they plan. Help them to change for the better.
3. Lord, let our youths experience divine interruptions that will transform their lives for the better.

TOPIC: WATCH YOUR INFLUENCE!
READ JOHN 21:1-18

MEMORISE: "I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. (John 21:3)

Some people do not recognise that everyone has influence in one way or the other that later turn to issues with global effect. For instance, the mother of a-year-old baby smiles so that her child can smile. She, at times, frowns at the child to show her disapproval of something. Whatever the child learns from this tender age, remains part of him/her for life - power of influence.
As a Christian, you are expected to positively influence your world. Christ's virtues which were imputed in us at salvation are to change our world (Matt 5:13). For example, God expects Christians to rise against giving or collecting bribes of any form because of its dire consequences (Job 15:34). When your influence breathes relief, peace, comfort, and strict compliance to biblical principles, even in difficult and trying times, God cannot leave you on your own (Dan 3:22-29).
Please, beware of Peter's mistake. Being the natural leader of the disciples, with his concluded determination to abandon the work of the ministry for fishing, his earlier occupation, he influenced the disciples negatively, such that they followed him! Watch what you say, eat, where you go, or things you do. You are an influencer, whether in positive or negative way. You don't know who is watching.
As you embark on today's journey, ensure you leave an indelible positive influence on the sand of time, God helping you.

PRAYER POINTS
1. O Lord, I will never be a bad influence in my generation, as much as You help me.
2. Lord, help me to avoid all bad influences on my attitude and actions.
3. Ask God to dissociate all bad influences around our political and church leaders from them.

TOPIC: GIVE ME A DRINK
READ JOHN 4:5-8

MEMORISE: When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?" (John 4:7)

The Samaritan woman had a purpose for coming to the well. She needed water for her household chores, and could only meet this need at the well. Her reason for coming was not to attend to the discussion with a strange Jewish man who had no understanding of the culture of, and prevailing situation in the land. If he did, he wouldn't be talking with a Samaritan, much less a woman.
Many times like this woman at the well, you already have your reasons for some particular steps you are taking. You are not ready for any interruptions or distractions. You only want to focus on getting your need filled, and leaving the place.
Jesus is asking you for a drink today. Will you be willing to attend to His need first before focusing on your own? He needs you to pour out your whole life at His altar of sacrifice, willing to work with Him as He chooses. He wants to take your time, energy and possessions.
It is often easier to serve than to live a life of total devotion. God is calling you not to go out and do battle for Him but to be used of Him as He chooses to win the battles He has determined. The Samaritan woman found the path to fulfilment in attending to the needs of the Saviour.
As you go out today, Listen to Jesus, Learn from Him, and Live for Him as you serve others. How? You have the needy and less-privileged all around you every time. Meet their needs; you are meeting Jesus' needs (Deut 15:10, 11; Matt 25:34ff)! You can't imagine the reward.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to invest my totality in a life of uncompromising and unrestrained devotion to You alone.
2. Lord, make my life that of total commitment to bettering the course of others, unto Your glory.
3. Lord, destroy every human tradition and philosophy that is hindering the flow of the gospel in Africa and the entire world.

TOPIC: ALTAR THAT DOES NOT FALTER
READ LEVITICUS 6:1-12

MEMORISE: The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it. (Lev 6:12)

God is the God of fellowship. He has always desired it (cf. Gen 3:cool. He wants quality, unadulterated and consistent worship, and there can be no meaningful worship without an altar, which is the focal and designated area in the temple where offering are made. Since the physical temple of God has been translated into man's heart, it means the altar being discussed here is the very heart of man (1 Cor 6:19).
The mobile altar, therefore, must not falter! Lack of vitality, activity and productivity makes the altar to falter. The active altar is always on fire (Lev 6:12). In some village kitchen, three big stones are set, on which the pot is laid for cooking. Hens like playing inside the ash, albeit when it is not hot!
Is your spiritual altar filled with mere ashes of past glory? That is a faltering altar. In fact, demonic hens lay and hatch eggs on such altars, neglected by its owner. That is the experience of that man whose altar is not on fire (Matt 3:11).
Has your altar been turned to sport ground or breeding area for various ungodly activities (Gal 5:19-21)? You had better return to Calvary for rededication and sanctification, so that the Holy Spirit will help you to rekindle the Holy fire, whose presence will clear and consume all these mess (Heb 12:29). Don't be a burnt-out Christian (Eph 5:18-19).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, I need the Pentecostal Fire on my altar; fill me now.
2. Holy Ghost Fire, clear and consume every mess on the altar of my life.
3. Lord, visit Your Holy Fire upon the altar of Your Church in this land and consume every mess thereon, sanctifying it for the end-time revival.

TOPIC: IDENTIFY WITH GOD'S PEOPLE
READ HEBREWS 11:24-28

MEMORISE: By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. (Heb 11:24-25)

To identify with something is to conceive oneself as united with that thing. It is to make oneself one with, or associate with the thing/person. To identify with God's people is to admit oneness, sameness and association with God's people (the saved and Sanctified).
Moses was a Hebrew (Exo 2:1,2) who, by providence (not just coincidence) ended up living and working among the godless Egyptians, even in their royal palace (vv. 3-10). Have you given your life to Jesus? Then, you are among the people of God. However, your being born again does not immediately translate you into eternity. You must practise your Christianity here and now. Practise what is called positional evangelism. Represent and practically present your Jesus' love (Jn 17:11, 17). We must learn from Moses in this regard.
Despite that he grew up in the palatial comfort of Egypt, having discovered his identity in YAHWEH as a Levite (cf. Exo 2:9-11), he refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. Instead, he chose to identify with God's people, despite the risks involved (Exo 2:11ff; Heb 11:24-28). You are in the world, but are not to identify with the corruption of the world. This is risky (Matt 5:10,11; 10:18,22). Esther, having being challenged by Mordecai, riskily identified with God's people and took up the escape of the people of Haman's plot.
Identification with God's people is worth the risk (Matt 10:18-39). You are not doing yourself any good by forsaking the fellowship of God's people (cf. Heb 10:24-26). What 'ministry' do you claim to have that you have refused to make it church-based, God-glorifying and pointing to heaven? You endanger yourself and other. God calls you to fully identify with His people today. Won't you obey?

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord Jesus, Your people will be my people all the days of my life.
2. Lord, help me to be fully committed to the community of Your people everywhere and always.
3. Lord, restore the spirit of genuine brotherliness among Christians in the land.

TOPIC: FAITH THAT WORKS
READ JAMES 2:17-26

MEMORISE: As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (Jas 2:26)

To assert that faith is very important in our daily walk and work with God is just to say the least! Faith encompasses the whole relationship God wants from man. He wants us to walk with Him; and if we must, we have to do that by faith (Heb 11:6). However, our faith becomes full blown when it is complimented with works. There appears to be no difference between faith and work, because as we see faith in works, so also is work part of faith. What an intricate and symbiotic relationship! (Jas 2:18-20) The two are inseparable.
By 'work' in this context, it goes beyond our daily endeavours and struggles or involvement in one productive activity or the other. Truly, all these bring food on our tables, but we refer to combination of efforts made in good faith towards bettering the lives of people and advancing God's kingdom, in a larger perspective. Even the daily WORK we do should be done supernaturally MEETING THE NEEDS of others not just making money. It is bearing the fruit (Gal 5:22). In the same vein, faith itself involves every Christian being ever busy doing God's work in the world.
Do you claim to possess and be demonstrating gifts of the Spirit without the corresponding fruit? That's nonsense (1 Cor 13:1ff; Gal 5:22)! Praying alone may be inadequate for a brother in need of food/money for survival. The Shunamitte woman had faith, but worked by taking bold steps towards making Prophet Elisha comfortable. She was rewarded accordingly. Read Mark 2:1-5.
Your faith, if it is a living one, must work, because the faith that fails to work was dead long ago, and it remains dead! Your faith must work, so that Jesus can see and reward it (Mk 2:5).

PRAYER POINTS
1. O Lord, I desire and aspire to practise a living faith henceforth.
2. Lord, help me to apply the right works to my faith in You always.
3. My children (both biological and spiritual) shall never be instruments of the devil in any way.

TOPIC: ETERNITY OR VANITY?
READ ECCLESIASTICS 2:1-26

MEMORISE: Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun. (Eccl 2:11)

Eternity has been illustrated with thought-provoking phenomena. Just imagine draining up the ocean with a tin of milk. There is no perfect word to describe eternity other than 'endless'. The Life promised beyond is an eternal one.
Every Christian must value eternal life more than any other thing here on earth. The reason is not far-fetched: Jesus bluntly let His listeners realise that nothing could serve as perfect replacement for their souls. Do you know what that really indicates? If it were possible that the whole world's assets and their net worth, put together, be credited into your personal account, which isn't even possible anyway, it still can't compare to the bliss of eternity. Therefore contend for your faith and salvation (Jude 3).
Contrarily, vanity resides on earth, and its primary focus is to take eternity away from man. Having been saved, eternal life is guaranteed, but there is nothing like eternal security, since whoever is careless with the gift of salvation can fall from grace (cf. 1 Cor 10:11, 12). This is why you jealously guard your salvation, which is the key to eternity with Christ, from being hijacked by the devil.
All the seemingly glittering 'gold' of the world are vanities. Don't be deceived! Jesus rebuked the devil in this regard (Matt 4:1ff), by the Word of God. The world and its contents pass away, but those who do the will of God remain forever. Choose eternal life over and above the vanity of this world.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, I need Your grace to choose and stand by the decision to attain to eternity with You.
2. O Lord, help me, that the vanities of this world will not distract me from the realities of heaven and hell.
3. Lord, give Church and political leaders the consciousness of heaven and hell, so that there will be less atrocities in our services to God and man.

TOPIC: YOU AND YOUR HOUSE (1)
READ GENESIS 7:1-13

MEMORISE: On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. (Gen 7:13)

The daughter of a renowned man of God eventually sent her father to jail on the ground that the father disciplined her. Other instances, there are children of ministers/elders who are disco jockeys, smugglers, unbelievers or lost in the world of entertainment. Salvation is of the Lord. However, every one of us has roles to play in ensuring that we are saved, members of our household inclusive.
Noah and his household were the only people who survived the flood meant to exterminate evil and the doers from the face of the earth. He was the first householder who laboriously got his family members delivered from destruction. How are your family members fairing in faith? Do they take after you? Is your light bright enough that they can walk there in and get illuminated? You have roles to play in order to achieve that, which includes, knowing the Way. The way of Salvation is the way out of eternal damnation and leads to life eternal in Jesus. Jesus is the Way. He says, I am the way, the truth and life (John 14:16). As a responsible householder, you have to know the way, because one can only give what he has. Are you the head of your family? Jesus is your head.
Spiritually speaking (the father, husband), there is a church in your house and you are the priest over it, and God holds you responsible. It is paramount that you know the road before leading them, lest you lead them astray. Paul told the jailer to believe in Jesus the Lord, and he would be saved and his household. If you have known the Way already, congratulations! If not, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today, and begin to show others.
Parents, be converted, convinced and committed so that you can pastor (at least) your family.

PRAYER POINTS
1. End-time spirit of disobedience, lose your grip on my God-given children, in Jesus' name.
2. I refuse to raise my children as sons and daughters of Belial, in Jesus' name.
3. Oh Lord, let Your will be easy for me and my household to carry out, in Jesus' name.
