IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR ADVISES LEADERS ON ACCOUNTABILITY

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has urged Nigerian leaders to be accountable to the people they govern for posterity and God sake.

Prince Madumere made this appeal last weekend during the burial of late Kevin Ndubuisi Nwosu, a lecturer at the Nigeria Law School and the founder of Kevin Law Institute in Nkwerre Local Government of Imo State.

According to him, every person including those in leadership position, which he said is not limited to politicians, should be conscious of the fact that the life they live does not belong to them and that all positions are transitory. He reminded them of the need to be accountable to those they lead and ultimately to God.

He further advised those in the position of leadership to make effort to leave a lasting legacy since it is the only thing they will be remembered for.

The number two citizen of Imo State in his tribute eulogized late Nwosu for achieving so much within the period he lived on earth. “Reading through what this man achieved at the age he lived, we can agree less that he affected many lives positively. As a teacher of law, he has not only contributed to the growth of our country but has made impact in the area of social justice, which is critical to our very existence as a people. Here lies our brother who has only answered the call but his legacies will for a long time live with us”, he enthused.

Speaking further, he added that talents, intellects and wealth mean nothing if they are not utilized for the betterment of the people and the society at large while praising late Nwosu for making inputs in most of the legal reforms in most of the States of the Federation and Nigeria at large.

He therefore urged the entire Nwosu family not to grieve like those who do not hope since late Nwosu left legacies of note to the appreciation of the family, Imo State and Nigeria at large.

The event witnessed the presence of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 9, Mr. Usman Gwary, Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, Hon. Uche Nwosu who happens to come from the same community in Nkwerre and so many others.
