Timeline:
1st application: January 16 2018
Outcome: denied

2nd Application; 26th March 2018
Application not straight forward mail; 16th April
Passport collection: 30th April
Outcome; Visa Granted..

What I did differently in the application was to address the reasons for denial in the first application, which was origin of my funds.

I highlighted my bank statement with yellow marker and explained with a cover letter..

what do you mean by you highlighted the statement of account you submitted ? did you use the same statement of account you used in your first application for your second application as well or you printed a new statement of account before march 26th ?

please list the documents you submitted and your past refusal letter to help others understand how the ECO denied you with the origin of funds to make it easier for others to do same thing if they ever encountered such in future

My quoted lines says visa picked up.
tolani4real:

Why are you worrying yourself since the application is ready for pick up? Nothing anyone will tell you here on this forum that will change there decision. Go and pick up the passport. Wish you best of luck.

If he used a different one within two months it will not seem straight forward enough so what he must have done was updated the previous one
Once you have a couple of lump sums that isn’t consistent they get skeptical until you actually analyse the origin of those funds .

Both applications were at ikeja Lagos

I explained in-flows by supporting it my pay slips (which I also attached in my first application). I highlighted the inflows to show its my monthly salary with the payment narrative. This were also referenced to in my cove letter.

I used same bank statement.. The only difference is that I received my February and March salary..

Also, I addressed all the reasons for previous denial in my cover letter which were:

1.Initially low opening balance of 298000- I told them the reason
2.Closing balance of about 1.3 at refusal- I was saving and withdrawing less often since my wife works and contributes to family purse.
3. Origin of funds in my account- salary only (backed up with pays lip)

It was assumed my account was artificially inflated- and I showed that the funds are still available and has even increased since my salary was being paid.

Docs submitted
1. Bank statement of salary
2. Six months payslips
3. Marriage certificate
4. Birth certificate of my 2 kids
5. Letter of introduction from work
6.cover letter to explain my circumstances
7. Hostel booking.

Practically same things I submitted in my first application, only that I addressed the issue raised in rejection letter.

Please I need advice on this:

Will the UK embassy accept my husband's company's (he's an entrepreneur) statement of account since he's sponsoring me?
I will go with: marriage certificate, wedding pictures, husband & daughter will escort me to the interview.

Do I stand a good chance to get the tourist visa?

U do not need a transit visa if u've got any of these visas on your passport : US, CANADA, UK, SCHENGEN, JAPAN or AUSTRALIA. U will be given a month visit visa at the airport which covers the transit stuff but be mindful of the fact that ur flight must be Turkish Airlines for you to be able to get the visa at the airport. The visa cost about $40.

I don't have any of these visas only my destination visa and am not entering into turkey just to transit and I will be flying Turkish airline...

Hello everyone,
Please is a good hostel accommodation okay for reservation, I'm planning a budget effective 10 days holiday package for myself.
Do you guys think the ECO will accept confirmed hostel accommodation?
Has anyone gotten a visa with this?

Anticipating response... thanks.

Yes you can submit both as proof of address. However, recent utility bill is perferred.

Hi you are good to go. You do not need any transit visa as long as you do not plan to leave the airport. Like I said there are plenty of activities in transit area to keep you busy all days. If you need a nap, you can visit the star alliance lounge or the airport hotel at a fee.

Okay, thanks. The only problem with the utility bill is that the meter to my apartment isn't in my name nor the landlord's name. I think the past occupant purchased it.
My landlord stays in same compound so, is it okay if i get his recent utility bill alongside a note stating we all share same meter? Though i pay utility bills[bank transfer] to him every 3months for security and waste disposal. I can equally write 'for utility bill' in the remark during the bank transfer and get a receipt from him. Is that okay?

Sure just get a note from your landlord explaining it as it.

Hello gurus in the house,

My situation goes like this, my account balance presently do not have enough money on it, though there's enough cash inflow which includes my salary and monies paid into my account for some of my side hustles. Prior to my visa application lumps sums of money will be paid into my account, this is not deliberate. It just happens that my cooperatives will be paying me my savings at this time.

I was told there's a column in the form I can use to explain the lumps sums in my account, but I do not want to risk it. It might not be too convincing to the ECO.

My question is can I use someone as a sponsor? the person has enough cash inflow and balance.

Will my account statement be needed for the application since I'm using a sponsor?

Note: I have never traveled outside the country before

I think that will depend on your age bracket.. if you are above 25yrs I wouldn't advice you to use a sponsor...
yes your statement of account is also a good tie to your home country.

I'm 27, so what's the possible way out? since the lump sums in my account will raise red flag. If not for the lumps sums my account would have been ok to use, by the time of visa application I will have up to 1.8 in my account.

If you are unwilling or unable to full explain with documents the origin of the proposed lump sum and why it was paid into your account. The safest thing to do is either cash out the money or instruct your cooperative to pay it into another bank account. At your age and since you’re working, you cannot use a sponsor, unless your travel is business related and not for touring.

All the monies paid to the cooperative was transferred from my account, will highlighting these transfers on my bank statement be enough prove? if yes how can go about explaining this? is there a format or form?

There is no format or form. There is section in the online application form for additional information. Here you can explain it. If the space in the form is not enough, then include a cover note to notify the ECO that lump sum of xxxxx is due to maturity of your investment and is mere concidental and not a fund lodgement for visa application. It will also be wise to get a letter from your cooperative confirming the payment etc.
