From what you have written, this is not a case of perversion . Or is he married? He seems to genuinely like you. Instead of blurting out; why don't you ask him directly what his intentions are. If you are not interested, then say so in a mature and respectful way. You can only begin to be worried if only after you say no and he is still insisting or if he is making a threat. For now, it's just a case of "a dude liking a babe". All the best! |

@ QuiinnBee, It isn't an offence for a lecturer to like an undergraduate. Heck, in my 200 level two of my colleagues married two of my lecturers and in 300 level, another one married another lecturer. All three are still married with kids today and that was about 13+ years ago. I still see them today. My two cents, tell him politely that you appreciate his interest in you but the fact that he continuously singled you out for a special greeting in class has led to gossip about the two of you which you are not quite comfortable with and would not like to encourage by going out with him. Tell him that if he genuinely likes you, he should give you some time cos the fiduciary relationship created in the lecturer/ student relationship makes you skeptical as you do not want to be involved in a sex for marks situation. When you do this, please ensure that the whole discussion is recorded. A visual recording would be better and is admissible in Nigerian courts by virtue of the Evidence Act 2011. An audio recording will also be admissible but the probative value will be less as he could deny that it is him. However, I implore you that you should not for any reason let him know that you have a recording of him. It must be a last resort. Now, having done that, you must read the course like mad. If I knew your university I would have been in a better position to give you precise advice but you need to find out who your departmental exam officer is. If the exam officer is a female, investigate to find out about her kind of person. If she is approachable discuss with her that a certain male lecturer has been making advances at you but do not mention his name. Ask her if it is possible for you to write your exam with a number which will be known only to you both after which you can apply for the result as a missing result under the guise that you mistakenly wrote down a wrong matriculation number. In this scenario, the lecturer would not know the mat. No with which you wrote and cannot fail you. Also, your earlier discussion with the exam officer will enable your result be computed along with the other results, or failing a discussion with the exam officer, if your institution and department works like a well oiled machine, you still get your result. If she reports then she should've started nurturing a carryover and an extra year from hundred Level... Boo.. Pls try be jovial and take everything with him with a very light and jovial hands.. If he (the lecturer) insists he want to take you Out, Laugh and tell him father and daughter want to go and have fun, endeavor the place isn't a Hotel or even still emphasis that daughter and father ish, I'm sure he'll succumb. |

This is never a joking matter if you have ever been in this case or have a close friend in such situations, The more difficult my friend prove the harder the school was for her, even me self been a close friend the man show me Pepe, the worst is the the other lecturer too will cooperate and support their colleagues If you say no to him now, he will keep coming back, You must not have a lover in school or around the school till you graduate One thing for sure is that every problem has solutions My friend excaped it throughout and they became friends that we even took advantage of him in some areas. It was not easy though. |

quiinnBee: Someone mentioned school authority.. Before you do that, make sure you have prove of what you are saying to avoid more wahala for yourself. Truth is, when it comes to lecturer-student "toasting" one thing am sure of is that, if the student is timid and scared, she or he as the cases may be, can be manipulated threatened and even abused sexually. Its quite easy to handle such perverts, am not asking you to be insultive to a lecturer No! Just be on top of the game simple. Make him be the one at the at the lower end. Be smart....... I had such encounter with lots of lectures. About 6-7 but I never fell victim, I am a smart lady  .The last one was my supervisor. That one was veery difficult, I knew I couldn't have the upper hand on my own so I went home one weekend, told my mum a remixed version of the gist.( which was bad enough, mind you if i had told her the truth. She will follow me to school and i know things she can do ) .. All I did was call my supervisor when I was in the house. And I said my mum wanted to talk to him. ( you can imagine how he felt... ), when my mum started talking, she started greeting him, thanked him for every thing and his patience in supervising me and all that. Fast forward to the next week, I got to school and conversation changed from "can we see later" to "how is your mum". Hehehe ... It continued like that althrough my project. One day someone very close to lecturers told my friend that my supervisor said he liked one girl in the class, mentioned my name, "fine girl, her front and back set" were the words he used he said he was already playing his cards and suddenly I done involve my mother. Hehehe ( you will be shocked that this conversation was with 2 other lecturers, so think well before you report anyone) . the lecturers advised him to continue but he refused. I didn't write all this for nothing, I am trying to pass a message that shyness or timidness is not the key here. Same thing happened to another girl, she reported her supervisor to the HOD and he said " what do you want me to tell him when I also have a girlfriend among the students" that was shocking!!!! So just be smart and you know understand people's psychology. You will be the one smiling! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Go to a lab and talk to the lab attendant your problem, then make him/her write a test result that you have hiv. They should make it look authentic oo! Show your stupid lecturer the result if he persist. |

my dear,don't try to report him to the school authority.For the fact that he calls your name in class and invites you to his office don't mean HARM.Some lecturers get to like some student and always want them coming to disturb or chat with them in their office especially wen u are free.A lecturer in my school was disturbing my friend, he used to call her name in class like that,one day he invited her to his office.my friend begged me to escort her to the man's office.There after he told my friend he wants to take her out,and my friend was scared but I went with her.You can go out with your friend if you like his company |
