Power Generation Hits 4,883 Megawatts by Kyase(m): 4:31pm On Nov 24, 2015
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said it achieved a new record peak generation of 4,883.9 megawatts and the highest maximum daily energy delivery of 106,288.48MWH.A statement signed on Tuesday by the Assistant General Manager (Public Affairs), Mr Clement Ezeolisah, said that the new peak generation was achieved on Monday.The statement added that the previous peak generation was 4,810.7MW which was attained on August 25.It stated that the previous highest maximum daily energy wheeled was 104,794.26MWH and was attained on September 23.The statement said that the Managing Director, System Operation/Market Operation of the company, Mr Dipak Sarma, attributed the achievement to improvement in the supply of gas to the power generating stations and cooperation among all the stakeholders.The statement gave the assurance that TCN would continue to improve the network capacity to deliver more quality power to the electricity distribution companies.

That's a good development, however by now with the presidents body movement, we should be peaking 10k. grin grin grin grin grin grin... It would be interesting to see how much we generate one year from now.

The truth is, regardless of the area, 150 million Nigerians sharing 5000MW, will amount to the vast majority not having light.

So there'd be some praise singers and more nay sayers either way you "ration" it.

I hope at least we can celebrate a pic of 7,000MW in 2 years if not more.

Men are exploring space and if we ever even wanna begin to dream about catching up, we need to fix this electricity thing, haba undecided

We have a responsible government that has gone about its job without making noise. Not the one that will blame enemies, opposition, villagers, generator sellers, witches and wizards for poor performance.
