James Faleke, the APC Deputy Governorship candidate has totally destroyed his political career by standing against his party, the APC.

I wonder why he refused to be patient with the party that brought him to limelight. He could have even been more patient and cool headed after witnessing how death took away Abubakar Audu.

Now that he wants to be the governor of Kogi state in an inconclusive election and choosing his own deputy among late Audu children without consulting his party, it is clear Faleke is on the way to political suicide.

Faleke will not be governor through the supplementary election of December 5 and his stance now which is against his party means he is not a 'deputy governor'.

Yahaya Bello and APC will definitely have to look for a Yahaya Bello/APC friendly deputy governor.

James Faleke may end up being remembered in Nigeria as an unwise, hasty and greedy politician.

Faleke will be governor if APC wins. Make no mistake. Unless he decides not to pursue the case to the supreme court.

Which court?

Faleke never won any election as a matter of fact Audu never won any election because the election was declared inconclusive by INEC (never mind those who say only 25,000 people have PVC out of 49,000 voters, under Nigeria electoral law PVC has no place only registered voters are recognised as a result Wada still has a chance in the eye of the law.)
can 41,000(leading margin) be greater than 49,000(registered voters)?

Faleke claim that he's governor elect is an illegality that cannot stand the test of time in a competent court of law, and APC are aware and wary of this that is why Faleke was not chosen because should PDP appeal before the tribunal about this they'll surely win and send APC tumbling.

In the era of PDP(where there's no internal democracy) we know the 'oga at the top' will just handpick anyone without following due process and allow impunity to foster and when they get unseated by the tribunal or appeal court they'll start shouting witch hunting and scapegoating.

Audu and Faleke have no vote, people voted for APC. when you vote did you see Audu or Faleke on the ballot papers?

If the election was won and Audu and Faleke were sworn in then only will Faleke have a chance to complete his principal (Audu) tenure.

To think of it in the primary election Audu handpick Faleke as such Faleke have no vote.

Summary: Faleke is a deputy to a dead aspirant or contestant(not governor)

What you mean is even if APC had not fielded any candidate in the November 21 Kogi election, INEC would still have allowed them to be part of the process, since according to you the people voted the party and not Audu/Faleke who criss crossed the entire state to campaign on the party's platform? teach us on.

I think on the contrary, if Faleke is allowed to contest and eventually declared winner of the elections, Wada/PDP will have a stronger chance of unseating him through the tribunal because Faleke did not participate in any primaries.

The best bet for APC is to pick the traitor,Yahaya. Either ways, APC are in a tight corner.

Following your argument, Rotimi Amaechi would never have been governor if he had meekly towed the party line instead of vigorously pursuing his ambition in 2007.

who is falaki going 2 sue? Is it d party or inec? Inec recognise d party and d party has taken it decision which is final. 4 now falaki going 2 court is on d same page with d case of gov WADA, who want inec 2 declare him winner since audu is dead. their case is similar, he better accept his destiny as deputy gov and enjoy himself.

If you look at the case of Amaechi in 2007,he neither campaigned nor was identified by INEC during the general elections but the supreme court made him governor.
So, I think the party is more superior than the candidate in this case.

You are pardoned because you are not a lawyer. He will reclaim his mandate in the court. Just keep this in mind. Well, I can as well tell you the position of the law on the issue. Prince Audu was leading the incumbent governor with more than 45,000 votes at the time he died. Inec has reasons to believe that elections in some 99 polling units were marred with irregularities and therefore cancelled the votes casted in those units. The cancelled units have a combined number of over 49,000 votes. But here is the drill that made this election interesting. From last years' elections, inec introduced the pvcs that the electorate use to accredit themselves before the actual voting. Out of those 49,000 that were to vote in the supplementary election, only about 25,000 collected their pvcs thus making them eligible to vote. Even if all of them vote for the PDP, prince Audu will still emerge the winner because of his superior margin. Inec shouldn't have declared the election inconclusive. They should have declared the apc candidate the winner of the election. That inec didn't do that does not change this fact. In the eyes of the law, Prince Audu was the governor elect the time he died. Section 181 of the constitution is clear on what should happen if the governor elect dies before taking the oath of office and allegiance. The deputy governor will become the governor elect and will nominate a new deputy governor. I will send you a pm when Faleke reclaims his mandate through the court. Thank you.

If falake withdraw from the race, INEC will give APC the grace 2 replace falaki with immediate effect, since it is APC that has the votes and not audu or falaki. The man will loose big time, the party is supreme here. D deputy shld stay cool and not go against his party, because he can't win his party

The mark of an intelligent fellow is that he or she knows his/her place in the scheme of things, but you,i dont think you know this,if you knew this, then you shouldn't have written that article on faleke becoming the Apc guber aspirant knowing your opinion wouldn't count.Attimes your opinions are laughable.

Most news in the circulation about him are incorrect. The news were mostly generated by apc propaganda machines.

The man is a tool in the hands of apc. He does whatever his party wants.

INEC law recognise the total number of people that are registered and not number of people with pvc, so inec is right 2 av declare the election inconclusive in first place, b4 d death of audu. Did u think if audu was alive who will complain about the inconclusive election? Sayin only 25k has right 2 vote is only assumption, what if inec decide to give a 2days opportunity 4 odas 2 come and collect their pvc in the affected area, what will u say?

No. Inec can't do that because the collection of pvcs has ended. That was why Inec erred. They recognized the number of registered voters and not the number of those that are eligible to vote. Didn't you watch the collation of the presidential election results earlier this year? The collation officer always reads the total numbers of registered voters, then he will read the total numbers of the accredited voters, that is to say those that collected their pvcs and presented themselves for voting on the election day. This is a new Inec as they as still learning. This wouldn't have happened in Jega's era.
