The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

To my departed brother Brian,my course mate Anenih, my street hood nigger Ipese who fell victim to the ill health, rest in peace.
To the souls of our brothers in the armed forces who lay down their lives for our freedom as the scripture says "what greater joy hath a man down to lay down his live for his brethren",Rest in Peace y'all, May we meet to part no more.

You were a fusion of valor and virtue.

My dear sister, RIP. Your legacy will always live on. Your twins are now 3 months old. The Lord Will keep them alive for us.

I still remember the smile you gave me while on your sick bed... Farewell my beloved Sister. We miss you dearly.

My best friend Lk, was shot by a brother in law,
I had not met her in fifteen years, and one day after our reunion, she was no more,

To my belove vincent ebrifor,who was killed by his step mum after graduation...oshare rip,tu Dearest tina,that funny urhobo damsel that was also killed by wicked forces,Omo'te rip.tu mummy success that died,last month leavin four young children,rest in the bossom of the lord.

I still communicate with my loved ones who left their bodies, no need to bid farewell, they are with me every day and always will be.

To Vincent my dearest,who was shot while on duty by robbers,rip dear,I still remember you like it was yesterday,the good times we had together, and the final bitter separation before death,I forgive you,and I wish you had another chance to live,now i only wish you made it to the glorious place and not to the burning place,if you made it to peace,surely then we would meet again in the afterlife,if not,its forever goodbye ,I know your family misses you greatly but I miss you more,love you and forever will.

To Vivianchinaza a nairalander, died around 2012. I can't fathom what really killed you. Gastroenteritis... Diarrhoea... What happened Chinaza. Well, since you left, intelligent discussion online only comes once in a while with most family section commenters writing thesis and dissertations instead of infusing realities. Now we have kids giving advice that is parallel to none ever given......
Sleep on Vivy, you touched life immensely, glad we argued back then and learnt a lot from each other before your saintly but painful exit from this quintessential struggle.

The Last time I saw you, we joyously danced at the alter during thanksgiving Sunday . . How was I to know that you will be gone in 4 days time? O ye Olorun.

We had hilarious times and when I asked you to make my husbands birthday cake, I told you the date and what I wanted on the cake ages before, but 2 days before the event I reminded you and in your typical naughty way started arguing with me that I gave you a different date. Please, choose life and that's through Jesus and let's encourage our loved ones also to walk in that path of life.
